New Avengers Academy RP Thread

Zach flips through the target list for a bit, trying to figure out what reason they were being targeted for. The creator of this device obviously had an incredible grasp on spatial manipulation technology. Which meant it was unlikely he wanted them to further his knowledge. Or maybe he did, the drone hadn't displayed any sort of forcefield. Perhaps the creator was hyper-specialized in only one category of spatial manipulation.

He made a copy of the target list on his forearm computer, and sent it off to Professor Pym, noting that it was quite possible that those students were still at risk from a subsequent attack. He also appended everything he had managed to gleam about the drone's capabilities to the email.

With initial findings documented and backed up, Zach decided to fiddle around with reprogramming the arm for the moment. Being able to generate his own pocket dimensions would be incredibly useful.

The entire room seemed to take on a mysterious weight as Tony stood there smiling, "And you fail to realize that I'm not exactly helpless myself. I did make it in here didn't I?" Tony removed the cigar from his mouth and loosened the tie around his neck. "You see there are two things you need to know about me... 1," fire flicked around his hands, "I love me some fire. And 2, I have a little bit of an ocd problem." With that out of the way, Tony snapped his fingers and a series of explosions went off around the halls of the school. The weight in the room seemed to shift again from heavy to light, then again back to heavy as Lapis seemed to be concentrating, but to no avail, "Sorry Lapis, you just don't have the ability to beat me, because you see, I know a little trick about sulfur, if you light it just enough, it isn't an element anymore and it's not dangerous. But it does make one hell of a gas weapon for later." The last thing Lapis saw before he blacked out was an explosion wipe across his face and throw him backwards. "Until next time Mr. Bluefield, perhaps you'll be more understanding of the situation, do take care of my old friend here, I want him to feel every excruciating moment of pain I have in store for him." Flames surged up and around Tony as he vanished from sight.

Cale looked at the spot where Tony vanished, noting there was an odd energy in the place for a moment. “Tch...gangsters...well, Lapis, that kind of makes my decision for me.”

He turned and sat at his desk, clasping his hands, “No matter what happens next, I fully intend to make this school safe for my students. And for that, I will make sure that “Tony” fellow is dispatched, one way or another.”

He then looked at Lapis and asked, “However, for that I would like to ask for your assistance in an advisory context to dealing with these individuals.”

It looked like Zach's email made it to Pym, but this time there was no immediate response. For now, it looked like the systems on the arm were both advanced, and capable of being extracted and toyed with. However with how advanced they were, making dimensions would be difficult. Maybe if he had some help from a student or other with powers involving reality or space.

Rachel had been given a quick medical examination, then was brought back to her room. She'd remained in a state of detachment the whole time, barely able to answer questions she was asked. As she sat on her bed, she very calmly considered that, once the shock finally wore off, she would have two options: She could either break down crying, or she could try to laugh the whole fight off. The only way she was going to avoid crying was by being with people.

First things first, she had to get cleaned up. A quick shower, freshen up her make-up, and change into clean clothes. She went with red tights and a blue top. She debated with herself about what shoes to wear, but decided to keep with her awesome ankle boots.

Once she was ready, she went looking to see if she could find any other students.

Lapis sat up, shaking his head, "I suppose I'm involved whether I want to be or not. Man, this is a drag. Look, you should hire a professional to deal with this. I'll be back, but I need to go check on everyone." Lapis began walking out of the room when he stopped and turned around, "Danelle, you're with me." With that, he was off again. He turned another corridor to bump into that moth looking guy again, "Hey friend, thanks for the warning," rock could be seen falling from his face and other areas, "What's your name?"

Zach briefly pondered getting other students to help. It might speed things up if he could look at other people's powers in actions while he analyzed the tech. He soon discarded that thought. Not because it was wrong, but because he didn't want to ask others for help. Technology was his thing after all, asking a non-tech person for help would just be wrong in his mind.

Instead, he put the figuring out the systems of the arms itself on hold, and went back to analying what data he had gathered for the fight, to begin work on a scanner or sensor for space anomalies like the drone had wielded. He had been able to view the side effects via the EM spectrum, but that wasn't enough in his mind.

And Rachel ended up finding Terry, who looked a bit lost in terms of finding his room. The boy looked like he had a pretty poor sense of direction, as he was audibly musing that he'd come to this exact spot no less than five times. "Oh, Rachel, glad to see you're alright..."

The blond haired teen smiled brightly. Even though he had gotten thrashed through a wall, he hadn't taken much damage. "Oh uh, if you're hurting anywhere, I could, uh, patch you up..."

Danelle smirked and went out with Lapis, Oh I love it when Lapilapi gets like this.

Cale for his part kept quiet but reclined in his chair, putting his arms up with his hands behind his neck.

Danelle asked Lapis as they left the office, "So, what's next? We gonna kill that friend of yours, that Tony bastard?"

The sensor or scanner started to come along, it helped that the machinery available there in the arm was quite suited for scanning things already. Before long a familiar looking little device was starting to be developed.

It could possibly rest on one ear and extend over an eye, and had numerous readings it could look through.

As Zach continued his work, there was a knock, like someone wanted to talk to him.

Jonathan came to a stop from his sprint in front of the Academy, his duffel bag swung over one shoulder. It had a few days' worth of clothes in it, his toothbrush, a few other things, and his costume at the bottom. He'd been in a hurry.

"Hello?" he called out, probably looking like a real rube. His dark blue jeans had tiny holes in them from friction burn, and his bright yellow t-shirt had had its collar popped up by the wind. His work boots had holes burned right through the sole so his bare feet touched the pavement. He'd brought a spare pair of boots, but he didn't want to change out of them.

"Oh, hey," Rachel replied. "I'm fine. Nothing hurt but my sanity. So, hey, uh. Do you want to, like, hang out or something? I'm really not in the mood to be alone right now."

Jonathan sighed. He hadn't wanted to do this. He raised one fist and knocked three times on the door, wincing as it looked like the whole building shook with each tap. He really needed to learn how to control his strength.

Terry looked like he knew how that felt, though for now he kept his smile on because she probably needed positivity right now. "Alright, sounds good to me! Lets see, where would you like to go?"

He ignored a chilly feeling on the back of his neck.

One of the robotic centurions answered the doors, opening them up, STUDENT REGISTRY ACCESSED. PERSONNEL WELCOME. WELCOME TO NEW AVENGERS ACADEMY.

The machine was large, blue and black in coloration.

Jonathan jumped back and pulled back his free hand, ready to fight. He'd never seen a robot before, except on TV. And usually they were killing people. Unless they were Vision. But when Jonathan realized that this robot wasn't trying to kill him, he dropped his arms to his side and walked in through the front door.

"Uh... th-thanks." He said nervously.

"I don't know," Rachel said. She ran her hand through her hair. "Somewhere with people around. If I have a panic attack, I want to have some people around to help calm me down."

Normally, Zach would have integrated the new scanner right into his goggles but given how many vision modes it already had, he would have to disassemble everything and figure out how to miniaturize all the systems even more. Which basically meant a significant amount of hassle for minimal gain.

He made a few more adjustments to the high tech monocle in the making before reactin to the knocks on the workshops door. He blinked, as he pulled back his goggles and put his tools down before turning about. "Yeah?"

Follow. The robot dictated to Jonathan, and started toward the main buildings, by and large to have Jonathan's info evaluated and have him placed in a class.

Terry nodded and thought for a moment, followed by snapping his fingers, "How about we go see a movie?"

Jake entered the room, and looked around at what he was seeing. He asked, "So, uh, Zach...are you okay, like, after what happened with the Circle?"

He knew most likely the on campus doctor healed him up somehow, but he still remembered that impalement. It made him queasy just remembering it.

Jonathan nodded, following after the robot. His ruined boots flopped against the ground as his eyes looked at everything. He almost couldn't believe he was here.

"Oh that? Yeah, the doc and his team patched me up real quick. Didn't even get to take a sick day cause of it. I mean sure it had been quite painful til I got patched up. The most pain I had ever experienced in fact,"

Zach stared blankly behind Jake for a few moments as he remembers said pain, before shrugging flippantly.

"...but eh. I'm pretty much good as new. Anyways, check this shit out!"

He grabs the severed biomechanical limb of the droid and waves it around.

"I actually got loot this time. Still working on reverse engineering it but whoever made it really knows their stuff. Long story short, once I get this down, I'll be halfway to making my own TARDIS. Or maybe I'll just make an RDIS. Easier and with less chance of causing paradoxes."

He starts to walk to the doors a little nervous about the fact that he is going to a school specifically for people like him, mutants. As he is walking up there he mentally checks his bag '' Okay, got some clothes, tooth brush and tooth paste. Also on my hip have my 45 cal. and Pulwar. Check, seems that I have everything.

As he gets up to the school he stops, felling a bit hesitant to enter he thinks Well I suppose if I wanted to I could turn around right now. NO I shouldn't think like that, I'm here now and there is no turning back. So with no regrets in his mind he walks through the doors.

"Movie? I was thinking TV in the lounge or something," Rachel said. "Or were you just trying to get me alone in the dark?" She winced inwardly. She couldn't believe she made that joke. That was the type of joke she would never make. She really was shaken up by her experiences.

As Lapis walked down the hall with Danelle, he bumped right into some kid who looked new, and was carrying weapons. A gun and Pulwar to be exact. He decided to slide across and say hello first, then he would go check on Zach.

"Hey, new kid," he called, "Nice weapons, so what's your name?"

Onyx stops to see who is talking to him. To his surprise it was a normal looking person, which was odd because in his mind a school of mutants wasn't supposed to have normal looking students.

"Thank you for the complement, the name is Onyx, yours?" Onyx replied reaching his hand out to motion for a hand shake.

Nice weapons, too bad powers are the name of the game. Danelle thought, as she watched the newcomer and Lapis talk. She for now hanged back, but decided to see what this guy was all about.

Before long, Jonathan entered the now rather weathered office of Cale Bluefield, who welcomed the young man with a surprisingly firm handshake. Despite Jonathan's super strength, it was apparent Cale had something going for him.

"Welcome to the New Avengers Academy. I'm Cale, and I suppose for right now I'll be evaluating you. So, Jonathan, what kind of powers do you have, and how much school prior to this have you completed?"

Terry turned a very bright shade of red on the cheeks, and shook his head very quickly, making his hair flop a little, "No no no, that wasn't what I was thinking of doing, not at all, I'm...I'm a proper guy...not someone who wants to get into people's pants and..."

He breathed to cool himself off, knowing that with the powers he had he couldn't let his imagination run too wild.

"S-Sorry, wherever you want to go, I can take you."

Jake gaped at this creation, and appreciated every detail of it. The strange energy coming off of this loot was making his powers activate, giving him a small orange glow. Maybe this was a hint at something.

Though right now he was not too concerned about that. Zach potentially had his own TARDIS, meaning...

Yeah, it was time to up his game a little bit. He had to find out more applications.

"How did they make that thing sneak in? I mean, Rachel was there one moment and then gone the next! And why was that Terry kid capable of seeing it?"

Jonathan blinked and looked back and for from Cale's hand o his own. That hadn't happened in a while. He smiled gave the appropriate respectful nod.

"Well, sir," he said, "I can't give you exact numbers. But I'm strong and tough, I can see and hear things really well. I can jump and... uh..." he lifted one foot to show the hole in the bottom of his boot with a sheepish smile. "I'm pretty fast." He chewed on his lip. Now came the awkward part. "Well, I haven't finished High School. I'm not exactly... um... my parents don't know I'm here. Sir."
