Why the fuck is there suddenly an entirely different video in the post I made above?
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Ooo, I just got my steam demo key!
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerHuh, I forgot that my pledge was large enough to get the demo. Guess I'll do that some point tomorrow.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Just played through the demo.
The graphics were nice, the controls were smooth. Absolutely no complaints. Can't wait for more.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI almost lost my code because my email decided it was spam and had it set for nuking, eesh
You should be able to log into your account and get it, shouldn't you?
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI don't know if the issue is Steam or what, but for some reason, it doesn't download right on my system.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Seeing people play through the demo, I'm optimistic about this. The visuals are amazing and it seems like pretty much what you would expect from a fun Igavania. I wish I'd backed it.
People are comparing this favourably to Mighty No. 9, saying how much better this feels already. I didn't follow Mighty No. 9 on its journey from kickstarter to finished game, but did it ever put out any demos?
Nope, but the game is finished, and this demo feels better than the finished MN9.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. The big thing was Bloodstained looks and acts like Symphony, which is what it was billed as and people who have backed it wanted.
Mighty Number 9 was supposed to be a Mega Man game but wasn't.
In other words, IGA simply did what he always does, so technically he really had to do nothing at all .
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. It's moreso that MN 9 ended up being sort of lackluster from what I understand, it doesn't really excel in any areas , the presentation is sort of lackluster and the animations aren't that great, and has some pretty big negatives like the excessive amounts of dialogue interrupting boss fights and making sound cues much harder to make out (which is horrible because a lot of the bosses have instant kill moves).
From what I see of the demo Bloodstained has much better visuals and presentation, at least. I'm sort of worried because they promised to deliver the game on a bunch of platforms just like MN 9 (which IMHO was probably one of the big reasons why that game ended up the way it did), but this demo is promising so they might be managing this production better.

To be fair to MN 9, BS has a much bigger budget.
Though to be also fair, BS seems to be a much more focused project than MN 9.
And to also be fair, Shovel Knight.
I hope that they don't delay the game for ages just to ensure simultaneous release.
Even if it means I can't play it, I'd be OK with my preferred version being delayed if that is what is needed. Like, Shovel Knight launched on Wii U first. I was fine with waiting for the PS release! Though the sad thing is not everyone shares my patience.
I think Iga said in an interview somewhere that the reason Mighty No 9 was delayed so much was that the developers wanted all the bonus content ready to go on release day and that Iga wasn't going to make the same mistake. So to solve this Iga was going to release the initial game with just the main game, then release the bonus content piecemeal afterwards, that way the initial release date doesn't keep getting pushed back. I may be misremembering though.

Just like Shovel Knight.
Ah, Shovel Knight. Showing all the true path to glory.
But it's all just another example of how mismanaged MN 9 was. God, BS, I implore you to not make those mistakes!
And yes, I know the initial reception to the demo was strong, but I've reached a point where I'm worried about a KS game's quality all the way up to it being in my hands.
And I have a stronger personal connection to CV than Megaman, so I'm a lot more on edge with this game.
And I backed it for a lot more money. Because I'm insane.
Your insanity is among friends.
i. hear. a. sound.Bloodstained looks to be doing pretty well, As long as it keeps the style shown in the demo, it will at least, be a decent game.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.I really like that Miriam kicks.
I love the kick.
It does something to my heart.
The kick is an actual weapon (Kung Fu shoes).
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. It is the BS incarnation of CV's fist.
I once beat the final boss of Aria by just fisting it to death.
It felt really good.
There is no way that phrasing wasn't on purpose.
i. hear. a. sound.Of course it was on purpose!
It took me ages to beat that boss just by fisting!
It was one of my proudest achievements in gaming.
I might do the final boss of Bloodstained by just legging, depending on my mood.
Maybe she's giving her chest extra support. Because jumping while in possession of boobs can be uncomfortable.
i. hear. a. sound.
