If they really wanted to go overkill, they could just have the Waverider fly in the air outside of Barry's reach and just shoot at him with lasers.

Granted, this is Barry 'just barely past Mach 5' Allen, not Barry 'I can travel at lightspeed down a populated street' Allen.

That guy would be a nightmare to fight.

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.

The general problem is that it's really easy to *kill* Barry. (ignoring the 9 feet of premium grade plot armor) Defeating him non-lethally , or hell even just reasoning with him to stop him from doing something stupid is very, very difficult. This would make him really frustrating as an antagonist from a writing point of view. The powers that be are unlikely to sign off on you turning him into fish-food, which is what ought to happen once the.. more pragmatic.. members of the wave rider crew decide he's a menace to the world, and getting him to stop being bloody daft short of that is quite an ask.

I don't think Barry has too much to worry about. It took the Legends forever to deal with one punk with a healing factor. [lol]

Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?

granted, his healing factor was a bit more impressive than Barry's, but....

I maintain that catching Barry would be super easy. all you need are two hostages, some razor wire, and a walk in freezer.

Not razor wire, to easy to see. Nano-filament wire.

A healing factor.. and a destiny engine.

That might work if not for the fact that speedsters speed up their perception as they run. I mean, to the rest of the world it'll look like Barry's running in a straight line at Mach 5, but to him it's like he's running down the street while everybody else is frozen. Unless you set that wire up real well (and even then it'd take him a few microseconds to vibrate right through them), he'll see it coming because he's got all the time in the world.

What makes speedsters terrifying isn't that they're fast. It's that they're fast and they have all the time in the world.

Hence why I said nano, or even mono filament wire. Those things are so thin they are all but invisible.

oh, I wasn't planning on using the wire to trip him. catching him's what the hostages are for. two of them is seperate enough locations, distract him long enough to hit him from behind, which several people have been able to do in the show.

nah, the wire's for /keeping/ him. trying to vibrate or use speed to get through and you risk severing things like veins or arteries or hands.

....why are you looking at me like that, I've been writing fic that's why I've been thinking about it.

@Soble, well, I have a Reputation to uphold. I need to write more Legends fic. I've only done a few of them so far, mostly about Firestorm or the Hawks

I'd say that if so, Cisco should avoid any Determinator robots, but people like him too much to kill him off the way they did his comic counterpart.

He's died 3 times in The Flash so far. (well, once was technically on Arrow during the crossover). I've killed him 4 times that many times in fic grin

but didn't Arrow kill off Ivo already?
