I always thought that all these discussion threads with only one post hadn't been opened, and I never looked at them.
Now it turns out that some of them have been opened. Seems like it's time to look at all fifty-plus one-post threads on the page.
Topic: I can't see how this is tropeworthy at all. Only two examples? Motion to cut this trope.
It would be a worthy trivia entry if a pattern could be established, but at two examples and neither one of them straight, I can't help but feel this bypassed the YKTTW process.
Yup, this looks like a direct launch.
Cut this page. Two examples is not enough even for Trivia.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhile I agree with cutting the page, I wonder if we should take the concept through YKTTW to see if it's workable.
Aiming to cast unknown actors is a thing that happens. But the page isn't working as it is. Cut or rework from scratch.
Check out my fanfiction!Cut or rework from scratch like Another Duck said.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?No YKTTW, but I agree the definition is actually a thing.
So, yeah, let's re-work this from scratch.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick
Dark Horse Casting is a trivia trope that describes a cast full of little-known actors and actresses. While it's an interesting trope, it has some serious problems that need fixing. First, it only has two examples, neither one playing it straight. Secondly, while the description is concise, it is also very lacking. The description also fails to say whether a cast with a famous actor (who wasn't famous at the time) would count or not.
