Xenoblade Chronicles X Spoiler Thread

So after thinking about it, I decided that the only way to ensure that those of us who don't want to be spoiled don't end up doing just that was to make this thread.

This is for all the stuff in the Japanese Version. Anyone who wants to talk about what happens there can do so here.

This will also be my only post on this thread until I play the game myself.....hopefully. If I do end up coming here, I'll fully acknowledge it's my own damn fault.

So here we go!

Time for you to give in and read it Rob. Now for some copy and pasted spoilers.

• Humans were told they were being put in cold sleep capsules but in reality they became samples for the LIFE
• LIFE is a super computer with the DNA of the citizens of NLA and earth animals
• Elma knew everything from the beginning but didn't tell anyone
• Lao was mad as f*** because he thought his daughter and wife would be selected for cold sleep but weren't, only the elite got to be sampled into LIFE and he was really angry about his loss
• He found out all the lies they had been fed and the truth about their bodies before everyone else, thus why he became a traitor
• Lyn convinces him to back down and everyone forgives him and tell him to return home to NLA
• When they finally get into Central LIFE they learn there's no bodies and their consciousness had been uploaded into databases
• Discussion happens and they all say they are happy with their bodies, Tatsu included
• They are told the system can create life so everyone accepts the truth after discussing (Does that mean we're already dead? Elma tells them that they are, but not at the same time, etc, etc)
• Fighting happens and the commander of the growth division hounding them starts attacking the system out of spite when he's defeated
• Lao shows up and stabs the guy to redeem himself
• Lyn wants to defend him but Lao convinces them to kill him so humanity can survive
• Elma tells them there's still one more thing they need to know, that there was one body that was actually in cold sleep and reveals her true form; worries that they won't accept her
• Everyone say it doesn't matter what species she is because she's still their friend and leader so they trust her
• Credits
• Elma is looking through the basement of central life and finds out something that distresses her greatly: the database with all the memories, dna, etc of people had been broken right from the beginning so she has no idea how humans are alive
• The other Growth forces are on their way

Life is used to create a clone of a fully grown cat as well.

Well, that's something.

• Lao and Luxzaal (Growth Faction Leader on Mira) end up falling into some liquid substance that fuses them into the Chimera Telethia. It has three forms
• Lao, even though he dies, comes back to life. Lao's eyes no longer glow. He's a dead, sightless machine, somehow intact after the final battle.

So this begs the question: We know from developer comments that New Tokyo also survived the destruction of Earth. Does it have meat!people on it or just data!people?

Most likely data people.

The point of Life was to use it to restore life from earth on other planets once they get there. When they had settled in the plan was to clone the people new bodies.

That wouldn't work in the case of NLA since theirs was destroyed yet the people still live on inside the robot bodies.

So reading here spoilers because I will probably forget them eventually anyway

Anyhoo, so is Elma the "main character"(since in some JRPG the Heroic Mime character isn't really the protagonist of the story, just aide to actual main character :p) story or just really important one?

I'm not sure. I do know she gets a crush on male Cross, if the images I saw of her with a heart above her head is right.

Oh and I mentioned in the non spoilered thread about races that are hostile but can become friendly through sidequests. Well the cat like Prone are said race who can become friendly towards humans and distance themselves from the Growth who they were working for.

What exactly are the alien races anyway?

I don't know the names of most races but a number of them were mentioned in some 4chan threads several days ago, though I don't think they mentioned the names of each races besides the Manon, Growth, and Nopon.

It seems that Growth is a large confederation of aliens, like the Covenant in Halo, including the Vyers/Prone, the cat people, etc.

There are several more alien races scattered around Mira like the Nopon and Manon, and it seems you can make most of them your allies and have them show up in NLA, after completing quests for them, which gives you access to new equipment.

The hearts above the characters heads are similar to the affinity system in Xenoblade Chronicles.

They show up when the characters comment on the quest. I saw both Lynnlee and Elma have hearts over their head while Cross was a female.

Soo wait, who are the second alien faction who attacked earth?

No one knows yet. They never show up at all during gameplay. They'll probably be apart of some DLC due to a Sequel Hook however.

I have heard them jokingly be called the Gnosis due to their appearance.

But currently the Growth are the problem right now. As they and their Lord want LIFE because of it's ability to clone apparently and is essentially a super computer.

Made sure not to read through this. I'm bumping this up since a lot of people will be able to play this in english soon, and we don't want the general thread to get bloated with spoilers.

I just picked my division. I chose Prospectors just because they get a defensive bonus.

I'm currently doing Lin's Affinity Quest I know a lot of people said don't do this quest for various reasons.
