People have come to just accept their existence. There might be something interesting, but they are what they are. I feel the first film is rather expertly crafted because they were experimenting with a completely new form of visual language, forcing them to keep it small but with well defined goals. The sequels got out of control because they keep trying to go bigger, with over-extended running times. If The Last Knight is revealed to be a 130 minute movie or less I think it will probably be the best one. Bay suggested Age of Extinction was going to have a shorter running time, but ended up the longest of all the films, ROTF, DOTM and AOE were all over 2 1/2 hours, and none of the stories really justified it. Shorter running times I think would also help alleviate audience perception of the films, as while maybe not that good at least they don't overstay its welcome.
As for the toys, the paint jobs on those look fairly cool but the only new model that caught my eye was Megatron. Such an angular robot form but a very sleek fighter jet vehicle mode. It could be a little bit like ROTF Jetfire (most of the jet is a backpack with the rest of the robot clunkily underneath) but the strength of the robot mode alone makes me interested.
I care.
Well, in the sense that I've watched all the movies and intend to watch this one as well.
....It's kind of a Guilty Pleasure of mine.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Ok, so a lot of us are agreeing that Michael Bay has overstayed his welcome.
"That is true!"
And a lot of you guys have made it clear that Bumblebee's being used way too often for your tastes.
And as such, you're not overly fond of that Bumblebee movie they announced a while back.
But it's okay. You know why? Because we have confirmation on who's directing the Bumblebee movie.
And if that name sounds familiar to you guys, he's the same Travis Knight who directed the underrated Kubo and the Two Strings.
Not only is it NOT Michael Bay for the sixth time in a row, it's someone who's actually GOOD.
Yes. Just yes.

Michael Bay Says There Are 14 Transformers Movies Already Written and My Eyes Are Not Ready

THE RIDE NEVER ENDS
This place is careless.14?!
14?!
I need to sit down.
Director says there's 14 scripts in the works and forgets to account for how many people have to be contacted, equipment costs, location, terrorism in other countries and all the red tape involved in filming in certain areas, availability of actors, and the simple possibility that people might actually get sick of Transformers in the next 5 years.
Everyone start losing your minds.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!As someone who doesn't like this franchise, this doesn't affect me in the slightest.
You're affected enough to comment on it.

(V)(;,,;)(V)-rimshot in the distance-
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Guys! Rumors about 14 more TF movies have been greatly exaggerated!!!!!
EDIT:
Michael Bay: A couple of years ago we had a writer's room with 14 writers. We locked them up in a room for about a month and they came up with 14 different stories of where this franchise could go in the future. They came up with a wonderful mythology.
No where in what Michael Bay said did he make statements that Paramount has 14 movies planned or anything of that sort. He said 14 writers came up with 14 different ideas of where this franchise could go in the future. He said they came up with a wonderful mythology. I interpreted that as "here's 14 goals we could go after" or "here's 14 plot points we could tackle" and that those 14 plot points collectively became the mythology to which Michael Bay referred. Does it mean there are 14 movies planned? Most likely not. Did Michael Bay say anything about 14 movies being planned? Not at all. 14 different stories of where this franchise could go in the future. That's all he said. Read into that what you will. But what Movie Web is reporting is inaccurate because that's a whole boatload of assumptions from things that were not said.

Figured as much from the wording.
Addition: Would be nice to see the Maximals show up in a future project.

(V)(;,,;)(V)Holy crap has journalism gotten bad.
Rethink the Past:
Guess Jetfire and Ransack weren't the only Transformers to stick around since prehistory.
but HOW?Transformer knights, huh?
Shame the movie will likely suck. There's a lot of interesting mythology coming up here.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Embedded version:
"For my world to live, yours must die."
Don't this to us, Bay.
T1: Megatron wants the All-Spark so he can remake Cybertron on Earth. There is a comic book what-if that shows him do this, having won the final battle.
T2: Megatron suddenly works with the Fallen who wants to eat Earth's sun so that he can... so that he... hmm...
T3: Megatron works with Sentinel so that they can activate the pillars to remake Earth into Cybertron.
T4: Galvatron wakes up on the wrong side of bed and decides to use the Seed to terraform Earth.
T5: Optimus comes back to Earth with the intent to... terraform Earth.
You would think after kicking their asses at least three times the Decepticons/whoever these mysterious ancient enemies are would just go find another planet.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!As sci fi loves to remind us, Earth is the center of the universe.
We're not even closest to the sun. Go conquer the Venutians.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Nah man, that atmosphere in Venus is a total toxic bitch.
Mars is nice this time of the year. Or they can get Jupiter, it's really big and no one uses it.
Wake me up at your own risk.Truth is that is probably the most solid trailer released for this film. The story seems a lot clearer here.
The mythology of the films changes with each film, typically with some new discovery of a Secret History with the Cybertronians. Age of Extinction was the only one that wasn't a complete retcon, because they established this is truly a primordial reveal. This film looks to say exactly why Earth Is the Center of the Universe.
I wonder though, maybe in a reversal of Transformers Prime, they will reveal that at the center of Earth is Primus.
Somewhat. I liked the first film, the second film was meh, the third even meh-er. The fourth was some kind of mash-up of Taken, Jurassic Park, and Pacific Rim.
But if not for the "evil Optimus" in the trailer, no, I probably wouldn't care. I have no idea why film franchises like Transformers and Resident Evil keep getting made and keep making money. Megan Fox, Rosie Huntington, and Nicola Peltz are easy on the eyes, but that really shouldn't be the only value these films have.
As long as Peter Cullen is willing to keep lending his voice I suppose these films won't die until-oh WHAT THE F-
There's a sequel to Last Knight, a Bumblebee spin-off, and ''another'' sequel in the pipe line!?
