Is Nigel a good name for a pelipper? I think it's a good name for a pelipper.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youYou could just go to the Pokemon General thread.
LOL Linoone keeps bringing me Escape Ropes. I wonder if it's trying to tell me something.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youBreloom and Blaziken kick all sorts of ass.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youIs it just me or is the RNG ridiculously brutal in Leaf Green? I'm attempting a nidoran female solo run and the amount of times I'm getting screwed by the RNG is making it the most needlessly hard run of any pokemon game I've ever done in my life. The highlights being:
getting fully paralyzed 5 times in a row
Blayne's ponyta hitting with fire blast 3 times in a row through 6 double teams and attract
Enemies holding on with the tiniest sliver of health possible all the time
probably some other stuff I can't remember

Dude that happens like, all the time
Really Game Freak should make the RNG blind to which player is the player character and which is the computer.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youIt is. People just think it cheats because of bad luck + confirmation bias.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I'm just saying that it hasn't been giving me any breaks(btw I'm at victory road). I just thought I'd point it out because it has never happened to me in any other generation, so I thought there might've been a quirk in FR and L Gs rng I didn't know about and was somehow playing against.
Ruby was my first Pokemon game ever.
I still wanna redo Emerald with a game guide at some point. I think my original run was decent, but my sister deleted my save.
but HOW?Even after being informed several times that it's mathematically not the case, I still can't shake the feeling that the critical hit ratio was jacked up in FR/LG. I guess that makes me one of those people who swear up and down about video game stuff that isn't true, but it truly was uncanny, and I can still expect it when coming back to the game nowadays.
In my playthroughs mons didn't just crit often, they critted so reliably that even going back to it now I could still rely on crits happening commonly enough that the expectation of a crit could be factored into battle plans and rarely be wrong.
I still fondly recall a time where I almost lost to Sabrina when, after curbstomping the rest of her team, her Alakazam critted four times in a row - unexpectedly OHK Oing all the best Pokemon for dealing with it and forcing me to stall it out with Lapras and Perish Song (during it which it critted a fifth time iirc).
It's also the game where "use a healing item, get immediately critted thus nullifying the effect entirely" became a running gag for me, but that's more for fun.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The abbreviation "crit" makes me feel uncomfortable.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I don't think the critical hit rate has been jacked up for FR and LG. No wait, it has...for the AI that is, I only get crits when it doesn't matter whatsoever while the AI criticals left and right.
I haven't experienced that at all. My FR LG is pretty tame... Paralysis and sleep tho
god those Standard Status Effects are the death of me

A place to talk about everything Third Generation. Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green.
Nuzlocke runs, tips, you name it.
