I recently subscribed. Having not read any Marvel or DC Comics growing up (because of cost and little availability where I live....even now they're still too much for me to buy them as new issues) it's.....overwhelming.

This thread is aimed at 1: suggesting what series/events/issues to read, and anything else about the service, like the AR videos. 2. Discussions on old issues you've just read (this might be better served by a more all-encompassing Marvel General Thread, though.) 3. Discussions of the most recent content as it gets added to the service. Issues get added to Unlimited 6 months after publication (fine by me, I have decades of material...) so for example, the first issue of the female Thor I hear about in the news got added just today. So basically a discussion for any new marvel issues once they're 6 months old.

To start, I'm mainly reading Deadpool 2012 and Civil War at the moment. I wanted to read the former years ago because Brian Posehn was writing it, and I'm glad to now, I think it's great and funny, even if the Dead Presidents storyline obviously isn't aimed at an international audience so much. I'm guessing people will suggest other Deadpool material?

As for the latter, I know the movie won't be a full direct adaptation of it. I'm reading all the issues and tie-ins for it, which is........well, maybe I shouldn't be, as it goes through series and characters I know nothing about and reference events I know nothing of from the movies. But the sound of the event just grabbed me, so.....:P It's interesting, if not as dramatic as it thinks it is.

I'm also meaning to read through Miles Morales and Marvel Zombies, I've also heard of them and wanted to read them.

Well, trying to start with Hulk in 2014 was......confusing. Hulk was fighting "Abomination" in Hulk and Savage Hulk but the details didn't match up, and it took a while and some research to realize Savage Hulk is set in the past. And in Hulk, "Doc Green" comes out of nowhere one issue without explanation, and I had to research it to find out the storyline moved over to a different comic called Original Sin. Bit confusing, this all is.

I'm very much enjoying Deadpool 2012.

Reading lots of #1s, I like Storm and the different GOTG comics so far.

I read through Marvel1605. That was really good.

There's a free month offer going on to celebrate that they added Star Wars comics, use the code STARWARS. The comics are both from Marvel and Dark Horse.

Caught up with Deadpool....where it was six months ago, anyway. It's become very crossover-heavy and it's annoying, I have no idea what the hell is happening now. Psychic visions and X-Men mob hate brainwashing and Deadpool's married to Dracula's wife and I don't know what happened there. The wedding issue, as sudden as it was, was great though.

I can't imagine how people stand these crossovers when you're buying the issues separately.

I read a few others. Doop, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight. All but Captain Marvel interests me. She doesn't seem very special.....she's "Earth's mightiest hero" why exactly? What is "Captain Marvel" meant to mean anyway? And space battles aren't hugely exciting on the page. I'll keep trying it.

So I read Original Sin. That was.......baffling. First story I've ever read with the white Nick Fury. Probably not the best introduction.
