I'll put Outworld up tomorrow if I do. I just found I have things on today.

But still, named characters would be Kahn and his enforcers (D'Vorah, Ermac, Ferra/Torr, Syzoth [that's Reptile] and Erron Black) and the timeline would be before the events of Mortal Kombat X's "current" time, but after the other timeframes for anyone who knows the story already.

Maybe Outworld could take over the space the Warner Lot is in, with the surrounding it now having to contend with an area ruled by a Emperor who latches onto the Idiot Ball like a lifeline whenever he's pissed off and could invade at a moment's notice if the target is the source of the perceived slight......*evil chuckling*

Wow, that's a lot of posts overnight. Thanks Strat. I see more places I'm familiar with on the east continent, so I'll go with that one to get me in the game's groove faster.

Damn, I was gonna submit an Xcom chunk but it is still a few days before we know what the new canon is going to be. >.<

Don't worry about it, just have your chunk be from before XCOM 2. tongue

Imca (Veteran)
#261: Jun 5th 2015 at 1:46:26 PM

Problem is I kinda think Xcom on the run would be more interesting then "The Antfarm", but that is a valid option too. >.<

XCOM 2 apparently takes place in an alternate universe, so the events of XCOM 1 are still canon.

Imca (Veteran)
#263: Jun 5th 2015 at 1:49:45 PM

No, same universe.

You just lost the war, more is supposed to be revealed about the details within the next 3-4 days. waii

You didn’t beat the aliens – they steamrolled you. When the aliens showed up, XCOM suffered massive casualties, and governments around the world crumbled in face of popular support to surrender. Then, the Earth was quickly overrun. And so, 20 years into the future, the world is a very different place. The aliens rule Earth from giant shining megacities where all the people of Earth are flocking; that’s where they’re promised an easy life, a secure life free of disease.

Everyone's first Classic Ironman run is now considered canon.

Yeah, that's what I meant. It's more or less a continuation of the bad ending for the first game.

Hmm. Maybe Mother base with a Phantom Pain Big Boss.

There are a lot of options.

Heyo, just popping in to see if it'd be cool to sign up with a Half-Life chunk. I noticed it was present as an NPC doohickle earlier, but I heard that it was retired or something.

If I can't use it, that's totally fine, I just wanted to check. Thank you. :)

Ooh, excellent, thank you so much! Sorry this took so long, and hope it looks okay. A lot of this stuff is my personal headcanon, as some of the source material is admittedly lacking in areas, so if anything looks odd or extraneous just let me know.

  • Main Character
    • Name: Dr. Wallace Breen
    • Age: 60
    • Appearance: grump
    • Personality: Breen takes immense pride in his puppet rule of the capitol of the Universal Union's Empire (colloquially known as the Combine). He is cocky, snide and immensely condescending, belittling nearly everyone he speaks to in some way and masking it behind a flimsy veneer of feigned politeness. What scruples he does have are flimsy at best, hypocritical and nonexistent at worst, as he has effectively discarded all of his human morals in exchange for his position, knowingly damning billions of people to a miserable existence under his puppet regime. Although he is in a position of theoretically absolute authority, Breen is easily frazzled when circumstances turn dire and takes tranquilizers to keep himself from panicking. He paints himself as a cultured man of learning, yet he is emotionally unstable and resorts to downright childish insults and threats when he doesn’t get his way. All of Breen’s bravado and pompousness vanishes quickly when actual danger mounts. He will beg, plead and make promises he knows he cannot keep to be spared his life and would most likely throw allies under the bus to save his own skin.
    • Powers: Fortunately for everyone else, Breen himself is a powerless old man who cannot hold his own in combat. He is an excellent orator, but that probably doesn't count for much.
    • Equipment: Breen resides in the heavily-fortified City 17 (formerly St. Petersburg, Russia). He lives at the top of an immensely tall Combine Citadel at the city’s center, guarded by specialized Overwatch Soldiers. Although he has little military or strategic experience prior to the beginning of his rule, Breen is technically the leader of the Combine’s human and synth forces and wields some degree of control over them. The Universal Union also has a number of small aerial drones in its employ, for both surveillance and combat purposes.
    • Backstory: The middle child of four in an affluent, if rather troubled and cold Irish-American Bostonian family, Breen received his doctorate in Physics and worked as a researcher at applied sciences company Black Mesa for several years. Gradually, he climbed his way into the upper echelons until he finally took the helm as Administrator. Yet even so, his desire for power and change was not satisfied. When contacted by a mysterious extraterrestrial faction known only as "Our Benefactors" promising a perfect transhumanist utopia on Earth, Breen practically leapt at the opportunity to let them into his home dimension and orchestrated the catastrophic failure of a teleportation experiment to do so. Now, twenty years later, Breen sits at the top of an oppressed, enslaved human race, preaching the gospel of the Combine Empire even as his own kind are slaughtered and tortured.

  • Supporting Cast
    • Name: Dr. Gordon Freeman
    • Age: 27
    • Appearance: Positively messianic.
    • Personality: Although introverted and presently mute, Gordon is a kind individual who is very willing to help those in need. He conveys much of his thoughts and feelings through gestures and is capable of writing his thoughts down, provided he has a piece of paper and a pencil. Combat and violent situations do phase him, but he is pretty good at keeping his composure when things become dire.
    • Powers: Gordon is equipped with an HEV Mark V Suit, allowing him to withstand radiation, blunt force trauma and some amount of gunfire with minimal injuries to his person, also providing him with augmented strength and movement capability. The suit is only able to absorb the most punish blows when properly charged, however. Gordon also has several firearms, a Gravity Gun and his trademark crowbar.
    • Backstory: Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Gordon Freeman showed immense academic promise from his earliest years. However, he also suffered from social anxiety and selective mutism early in life. He graduated from MIT with his doctorate and attained a prestigious research position at the Black Mesa Research Facility. All went well for Gordon until the fateful day of the Resonance Cascade, a grueling blur of death, panic and confusion that would culminate in the fall of humanity to an oppressive regime. Plucked from his quiet life and hurled into an unforgiving future, Gordon struggled to cope with the torrent of unfamiliarity, lapsing into his childhood ailment and becoming unable to speak to even his closest friends.

    • Name: Alyx Vance
    • Age: 25
    • Appearance: Scruffy, but cute.
    • Personality: Alyx is brave, quick-witted and incredibly inventive, having constructed d0g, a robot companion when she was just a small child. She's something of a tomboy, spending most of her downtime hanging out with male cohorts and playing with d0g. Despite her playful nature, she is incredibly serious about contributing to the human rebellion against the Combine, wishing to bring about an age of peace and freedom from the tyrannical regime.
    • Powers: Alyx is a normal human woman with no superhuman abilities, although she is fairly physically strong, excellent at constructing machinery and adept at handling firearms.
    • Backstory: The Resonance Cascade happened when Alyx was just a baby, killing her mother and wounding her father. Thankfully, she was spared a repressive upbringing under state control, as her father and several other ex-Black Mesa personnel formed a clandestine pocket of resistance against the Combine. Wishing to avenge her fallen mother and save her people from oppression, Alyx is an active member of the resistance.

    • Name: C17OE-A0015
    • Age: Mid-twenties, exact date of birth unknown.
    • Appearance: He doesn't look so great under the suit...
    • Personality: The rigorous Combine brainwashing has done a considerable number on this Overwatch Elite Soldier's free will, as most of his present desires relate to fulfilling his post and guiding humanity into a transhuman utopia beneath Our Benefactors. As such, he has little in the way of actual personality and lets Breen do most of (if not all) the talking and decision-making. He holds Breen in a reverent, almost religious light and is not capable of questioning his motives or actions at this point.
    • Powers: As a soldier of the Overwatch Elite, C17OE-A0015's body has been subjected to several invasive surgeries, deprived of many organs and filled with cybernetic implants in their stead. As such, he is gruesome to behold beneath his armor, but incredibly strong and durable, capable of withstanding more punishment than a normal human. Aside from his strength and endurance, A0015 is also an excellent marksman, capable of taking out targets quickly with his Overwatch-issue Pulse Rifle. His armor is very resilient, covering his entire body and resistant to gunfire.
    • Backstory: This man used to have a human name, a life, perhaps a family, but he gave it all up after deciding to join Civil Protection. From there, he worked his way through the ranks, his combat prowess and good response to the numerous augmentations and the brainwashing prompting his promotion to Breen’s inner circle of personal aides.

  • Chunk
    • Name of the World: City-17
    • Description: A large, bustling city, formerly St. Petersburg, Russia before it fell under Combine control. Archaic pre- and post-Soviet architecture is interspersed with futuristic installations, the towering citadel jutting out of its center. Here's a picture.
    • Contents: The aforementioned massive, fortified Citadel, several decrepit landmarks, run-down Soviet era tenement dwellings for the unfortunate commoner and many buildings left abandoned in the wake of the Combine takeover. There is a network of canals, railway lines and underground tunnels utilized by the resistance. Military stations for the Overwatch soldiers are located within the Citadel.
    • Specialties: None.
    • Population: Roughly 2.5 million citizens (a thousand or so are part of the Resistance) and thousands of Civil Protection officers, Overwatch Soldiers and synths. There are sizable populations of enslaved vortigaunts scattered throughout the city, mainly charged with menial labor.

Accepted. Although City 17 is already on Battleworld, I'll have to ask for you to wait until I bring in Parable and the other new players.

Lucky for you, nothing much happened, apart from one of Clan Jade Falcon's forces investigating City 17's chunk (the outskirts are filled with antlions, who can't escape due to the supressors- those things that go thump thump- spread along the border). Said one guy got fired at by a helicopter, knocked down the helicopter, and took all that he could from it back to his chunk. And thaaaat is about it.

Sweet, sounds good to me. I figure Breen would have tried to stick with a non-interventionist strategy thus far anyway.
