....Or at least, that's what they said they were doing. Mike Oliver, the Magician, really didn't give a damn about any of that. He just wanted amusing revenge, one rotten target at a time.

Mike was bored. There really wasn't a mission today, and old man Augustus had ordered most of the Arcana to standby on the ship. Rhere was literally nothing to do.

Mike yawned. He was in the movie room with his bro, Star, watching b-list slasher movies. Pfft. He could do so much better.

"Heeey. I'm fucking bored. And Mina doesn't want to do shit with me."

...Or at least, that's what they said they were doing. Icarus Kane, The Hierophant, finally had a Dust-begotten day off. He needed his next album made fucking yesterday.

He kicked in Star's room. "Hey guys! I need voice samples from you for my next album, talk into this mic for me!"

....Or at least, that's what they said they were doing. Well, some of them did. Samuel Phantom, a.k.a "The Star" made no intention in hiding his true intent. He wasn't here to look pretty, only to fulfill his dream of fragging some royals from Vale dynasty. All the bodies left behind in the meantime were a nice bonus too.

Right now he merely snorted on Mike's disdainful comment. "You have no appreciation for classics. Melonface is vintage." He responded before Hierophant barged in. "Hey folks, Mike is bored!" He announced to the mike, chuckling.

The room was bare, there was a cot, a bedside table and some coathangers, Jebidiah knelt ion the floor, eyes closed in quiet contemplation

Anyways, Dante Lincoln was reading a scientific journal (focusing mainly on Aura sciences, obviously) in the library, as far away from the insane duo as possible. The last thing he needed was to be standing near those two on the day he had to himself.

Of course, just because he was in the library doesn't mean he was immune from being pestered or distracted by someone.

Some of the Arcana may have seen themselves as valiant freedom fighters.

The Hanged Man, on the other hand saw himself as little more than a career criminal and was damn proud of it.

Quickly losing interest in the maintenance he was doing on his prosthetic arm, Johnny left his room and began wandering the passageways of Tartarus belting out an old Sea Shanty as he did so.

Of what use was freedom? Was there any purpose at all in the search for a better tomorrow if no one ever lives long enough to see it?

Chariot did not care. She never cared.

The same, identical expression she had on nearly every day of her life was present on her face as she worked. Currently, she was taking a wrench to a machine somebody on their team had asked her to build.

Chariot might not have cared about anything, but at least working took some of the monotony away from her meaningless life. So she worked.

As she haphazardly stuck together bits of machinery with only the slightest inkling of an idea of what they did, her semblance passively made obscured connections and pathways she knew nothing about. She had been blessed with a semblance any engineer or machine-aficionado would kill to have, and she didn't even know it.

Jebidiah sighed, standing up. He walked out into the halls, he wore slacks and a sweater. "You should join a choir," He told Johnny.

The Arcana were supposed to be freedom fighters with a glorious purpose.

However Julian Oracon, The Hermit watched over the minor arcana as they preformed their manuvers with complete and utter boredom. This was just the prelude to the true fight, and the minor for all he had taught them, nothing but cannon fodder.

Julian looked up as a small scuffle erupted, apparently over a small mistake. Time to step in

He slammed the but of his spear, Thunderbolt to the ground, causing a loud, sharp crack. "Enough! You think that you are all ready? That you have time to for petty squabbles? The last Fool was defeated by one of the children of Beacon academy who disarmed him and used Izanagi against him! None of you are half as talented as he was in combat. So until you are, get back to work." Julian walked back to his chair and sat down with a heavy sigh.

These men are all doomed.

Shrugging and grinning cockily, Johnny simply said "Technic'ly speakin' I am. Me an' me crew tend ta sing shanties ta pass the time durin' voyages. Pretty damn good if ya want ta take me word fer it."

"True." Jebidiah thought for a moment. "Why do sailors sing?"

Chuckling and unconsciously attempting to grab at where his right arm had once been, an odd habit he'd picked up since losing it, Johnny said "Figgered ya'd know that, seein' as yer a wise fella an' all."

That said, Johnny leaned against the nearest wall and began again "I dunno if ya've ever been on a ship like The Huntmaster before mate, but it's not like one o' these big ol' fancy machines that do most everythin' for ya. The crew's gotta be doin' everythin' at once ta make sure everythin's in workin' condition, so most o' the time we sing ta keep everyone in rhythm so that no one fucks up everythin' and makes the guddamn ship sink. The other reason, like I told ya earlier, is so that we can pass the time."

Jebidiah shrugged, "I get seasick, that's why I stayed behind from the docks."

Fortune, or Felicity Bell if you prefer, actually did believe in the whole 'noble mission' spiel. After all, fate had guided her here, so Arcana couldn't be wrong, right? Fortune missed her ship, and her crew, and most definitely did not miss Vale's gunboats armed to the teeth with the overwhelming firepower that made sailing in the Vale-Mistrali sea impossible. Arcana could fix that.

But today, there was nothing to do, which made Fortune anxious to busy herself with something — anything. As she wandered the corridors of Tartarus, she happened upon Johnny and the priest — the one ironically referred to as the Devil.

"We'll yet find your sea legs, Father," she said.

"I do have sea legs." The priest said indignantly, "I go fishing."

Johnny Chuckled "Ha, fishin'. That's just feckin' grand, innit?. Bet ya've never even attempted ta harpoon a guddamn whale, have ya old man?"

"Whale?" Jebidiah seemed physically sick. "Why would I want to do that? They're magnificent creatures...No, me and my brother sometimes just go to this nice lake and go fishing, it's peaceful, and gives time for reflection..."

"Why would ya want ta hunt a whale?" Asked Johnny, incredulous. "Fer starters, ya can eat 'em. Their skins can be made inta clothin' an' whatnot, got me a pair o' whaleskin boots back on me ship. The list goes on an' on mate."

"The point is, they're damn useful critters when yer out at sea"

"I'm a vegan!" Jebidiah said, shocked at this man's dismissal of murder.

"Yer a what now mate?" Said Johnny, a very confused look on his face.

"A vegan!" Jebidiah said, "John, we've been through this. I don't eat fish, eggs, meats, milk or anything that came from animals." He quickly added. "And I give every fish I catch to my brother."

"The end of the pier don't count for sea legs," said Felicity.

"My name is Johnny dammit!" Snapped the pirate "Not John, not Jonathan, Johnny. Call me anythin' else ya daft sonofabitch and I'll make sure ya don't forget it."

It would seem that Jebidiah had struck a nerve with Johnny.

Normally, Navy would intervene when he saw Johnny and Jebidiah arguing. As he walked past, he stopped and stared, he seemed like he was about to but then he kept on going.

See, he actually had believed in being a Freedom Fighter, but now he wasn't so sure.

Deserting or treason is unacceptable.

Strength turned his stare towards the Magician and the Star, his eyes narrowing.

But cleaning house may be tactically sound.

Jebidiah raised his hands. "I'm sorry Johnny, it was an accident." He sighed, turning to Flecity, "I like to think it does."
