Opened...I got nuthin' here.
Um… that hat illustrates nothing, and the heads of those freaky animatronics seems hardly sad. I haven't played any game in the series, but I decline support for either pic.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Well, the hat is a Tearjerker to the series as a whole, possibly symbolizing the end of it, while the empty mask is more of a happy Tearjerker, seeing as all the souls can now move on. So, for Five nights at Freddy's 3, I would choose the empty masks.
Ironically, I don't actually like coffee that much.I got nothin' besides the hat being the picture Scott posted.
Yeah, I think Hat is the best choice. It depicts the possible end of a series that only lasted for half a year, but has grown an enormous fan-base in that time.
"That is hard to argue or agree with." ~PennyThe hat works fine if you've actually followed the series the whole way through, but it's really Just A Face And A Caption, except without a face.
Also, it's not actually in the game, which probably doesn't matter but bothers me a bit.
I might suggest using one of 3 choices
1. The hat (though it is very ambiguous) 2. The hollowed heads (though very generic) 3. or the sprites of the kids giving the last kid the cake (may be ambiguous)
That's my opinion anyway.
We Wear the Mask that grins and lies, it hides our cheeks, is shades our eyes. The hat would only make sense to readers familiar with the game, and apparently it doesn't even make sense to some of them.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. One of the crying children.
I agree with WC-83.
Not sussed by any of the suggestions, sorry.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI haven't played the games, but is there a shot of the crying children at some point? That could work.
As long as it's not a spoiler. I haven't played the game, so I can't provide an image.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I can barely see that. It's very weak. Can anyone get a better view.?
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Unless you mean a better crop or a larger image, that's not gonna happen. AFAIK, Five Nights At Freddys uses fixed camera angles and (with few exceptions) static environments.
Here's a larger version◊. I believe the crying children are the posters on the wall
A crop on just the kids might work.
Many people suggest a picture of the crying children.
I want this one to be that picture. Though this picture is a close 2nd
#nolivesmatterThey are shedding tears but they don't look overly sad to me, sorry.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman@Septimus Heap because those are tears of joy and relief, even if it doesn't fit here it's at minimum a Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming
#nolivesmatterI like one of the ending screens, whether the good end or the bad end, for this article. The hat image was a close one as it indicated the end of the series (which is sad in its own right), but now it's been replaced with a new (and terrifying) image for a new sequel, which defeated the purpose of the hat.
I have no idea what I'm doing.May I suggest this one, from a cover of Mondopony's "Balloons"?

Even if you got the reference, that looks more heartwarming than tearjerky.
Clock is set.
I was thinking that the hat picture◊ that Scott Cawthon uploaded after FNAF 3 came out or the Good Ending picture would both make evocative, poignant pictures for the Tear Jerker subpage. I was originally going to do this myself but thought that making the discussion would be the better idea.
