Huzzah! It lives!
Saint LaughterCan't wait to super hero it up.
I edited my char by the way. He likes people and a place now.
Saint LaughterHmm... Can I just send you a general rundown of my first character's Backstory? I feel like it would be too long and complicated to write down without summarizing events, and I personally don't seem like a good summarizer or narrator.
Besides that, I'll write up applications for two other characters later.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Would a map be possible? Nothing detailed, just something showing where the wards are in relation to each other.
Trump delenda estIf my character gets approved, I want to try to set some potential interactions up. Tenebrous Gaze, since Samson's items are made from souls (yet he doesn't quite realize that fact), will that be a source of conflict? Cause I actually wanted to see the two end up in a fight, and it provides a chance for Eidolon to acquire a new form or two (assuming he's willing to absorb those forged souls).
@goodisgood: What do you think of Samson having took/eventually taking a job to kill Murnau, and stopping upon realizing the work he's done?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Hmmmm don't know exactly if a map would be a good idea, or solidifying things with one. It may end up an utter mess just given how much I place wards close together purely on thematical stuff. Plus I'll be adding a few wards more as time goes on... Perhaps at some moment I'll figure out a configuration I like, but for the moment, their location is a bit shifting.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.I like the idea of perspective magic and a physically shifting boundries, generally going non-euclidean and surreal.
Mé féin ag daṁsa faoin ngealaċ seanrince gan ċeol leis ach ceol cuisle. DS FC: 4141-3472-4041, feel free to add me.That would be a source of conflict, yeah. Hugh would be able to naturally sense the presence of the souls and would feel obligated to do something.

Think he would believe Samson not knowing, or even care? Besides that, if he did absorb the items, what kind of Forms would Eidolon get? I'm possibly considering Samson losing one of them to him to show how much he depends on these items to fight.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Okay, I can buy the metaphysically shifting boundaries.
Trump delenda estSo I went back through the sign-ups, and we have 21 characters so far (assuming Daltar accepts the latest few). This RP is either going to move at light speed or flop terribly.
“Not a promise, not an oath, or a malediction or a curse. Inevitable." - Taylor HebertWell I also intend to include two more characters, one of which would be a Silicon Street inventor that uses a magitek suit to manipulate electrical attraction (thus achieving forms of flight, telekinesis and phasing) in his quest to tear down the concept of Stars since he believes that all people should put in the same effort to be remarkable. Though I'm waiting for Samson to be approved first, since the inventor is Kris (partially just an alias) and the second would be Liliana.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Well, let's hope that all the characters are a good sign that this is going to work out well...
Also, looking forward to taking part in this. Partially based my character off the OC I use in the Avatar Arena.
Also, I'm seeing perhaps some sort of, probably ironic, friendly interaction between Jacques and Samson.
All the characters are at least fleshed out really nicely, so it seems like we won't have a lack of good roleplayers.
“Not a promise, not an oath, or a malediction or a curse. Inevitable." - Taylor HebertWell, backstory is important.
But dramatic, detailed, literary writing is perhaps not my strong suit, but I'll do what I can.
Edited in a second application, I won't write Liliana's for a while though. Cornelius' Repulsor suit won't be too problematic right? I suppose I could always remove the phasing/disruption bit. By the way, what do people think of Star groups being called Galaxies?

"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Hugh would need some convincing as he could see his demonic aura but would accept the tools use if being used for good and if a vow was made to eventually destroy the tools and free them.
If Eidolon got one of Samson's tools he would get a form which incorporated it into his armour and let him use its ability. In this case all three would have a glowing bar somewhere on the suit showing his mana and a white third eye in his helmet representing the trapped spirit. The armour's appearance would also change somewhat; so the ring would give a white and blue teleporting form that was faster and less armoured, the gauntlet a spiky form with a black left arm that could fire projectiles and the sword a crimson form that could disregard gravity ( although that ability would be slightly redundant).
To clarify; Samson not knowing would affect Hugh's opinion of him and he would initially be against using the soul tools but could either be convinced or reconsider if they were used while being entirely aware and honest about the moral problem. If using one himself he would attempt to commune with and pacify the soul.

Well he would get super speed, and could easily replicate moves like Psi Tempest or Blitz. In fact the sword was made meta wise to allow replication of Kingdom Hearts and Tales moves. The gravity defiance should also allow Eidolon to casually reposition his actual self instead of just enabling flight. Though now I'm curious... Does this ability only work on pure magical items, or could he absorb magitek and become some kind of cyborg ghost?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Just as a point of interest. Would Jacques perhaps get along well with Samson? Ice and fire...
It would work on magitek, as the Eidolon powers are channelled through tech already.
Well, there might be some conflict over the fact Jacques is more of a proper hero while Samson only deals with the supernormal and thus allows mundane crime to be. He would probably approach Jacques/Flame Wing at some point in order to add a grimiore entry on Demi-Phoenixes. Samson can be convinced to deal with normal criminals (as in simple muggers and the like, anyone with fancy tech is considered supernormal) however, as I would love to see what kind of steamy combination attacks they could pull off.
Hmm... Lets continue this through PMs to avoid cluttering the Discussion Gaze.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Oh boy. That is way too cheesy to not do. What about Constellations?
How are you, gentlemen? All your base are belong to us. You are on the way to destruction.Perhaps Constellations would be a team of Stars that merely work together. Like a Batman and Robin sort of thing?
Here is the discussion thread for Starline City! We should be up somewhat soon, today or tomorrow.
