Er, I meant the crowner.
Are we even looking at the same image? It does not say that.
At most the little thing in the corner looks like 'I'm in trouble now, I kissed someone else.'

Eyes open wide and hands clasped over the mouth is a pretty universal sign for "I shouldn't have said that"
This trope is about trying to keep your feelings from the other, but declaring your love nevertheless because you are really desperate for some reason. As a reader of the comic, I know that this scene fits the trope perfectly. A good page image should show it even to those who do not know the story, and I think it does.
So what is happening here exactly? The girl says she is in love with the guy, then she says she kissed someone else because she thought he was the other guy (which is logical as you can see the two guys who look similar, though it may not be entirely clear because of the stick figure art style). This and the fact that she is shouting reinforce the fact that she is really desperate. Then the next panel makes it clear that she wasn't going to say it. So this image with the two panels shows declaration of love, being desperate and trying to hide it, as well as it can be achieved in a single image I think. It may not be perfect but I really cannot imagine any better.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Bump for votes; only one in the green right now.
Doesn't need one.
