Which may actually be somewhat of a clue to what happened with him, Donald and Della. Scrooge being a bit too reckless and eager to seek out danger putting his family at risk.
Optimism is a duty.If Della was the more reckless of the twins, it could easily be that both she and Scrooge played into a dangerous situation together. Donald, given his insanely bad luck and anxiety, would likely be the most cautious of the three, but I could see Scrooge and Della sort of egging each other on.

Della does seem to have inherited her uncle's sense of adventure.
What happened to Della and the "Spear of Selene" incident is my top reason for watching.
Seriously why did Dewey wait so long before doing anything about it? The other kids and Scrooge were in the garage with him, why not show them the painting and ask Scrooge? Especially when Donald and Scrooge brought it up in front of him in Atlantis.
Because then the Myth Arc would be over a lot sooner then it would've been, and we can't have that, can we?
He may have not connected them. It was a stressful situation, and they were cryptically referencing some Spear thingy, and not anything about Della. If he thought it has anything to do with it, he probably would have told webby.
And why are we assuming that Scrooge and Donald would be willing to talk about it? As far as he knows, Donald refuses to talk about what happened to her, and has no reason to think that Scrooge would either.

Finding the first clue (Della's room in the Money Bin's library) could've come sooner (at least In-Universe) without ending things too soon.
Not connecting Della with the spear doesn't stop him from asking about Della though.
I am more patient after "The Great Dime Chase". Since we got something of a clue.

In regards to whether this series or the old one is Truer to the Text I'd say it's a bit of a mixed bag. This series is closer to the comics in some ways — It retains Donald as a major character, puts Scrooge in a red coat rather than a blue one, has a more comics-accurate Gladstone, and includes more backstory details like the story of how Scrooge earned his first time — but on the other hand, it departs from the comics format in some ways the older show didn't.: It alters the personalities and appearance of characters like the nephews, Gyro, Miss Quackfaster, Glomgold and a few others; the arc-based story is farther away from the format of the comics, and the artstyle of the older show resembled the comics more.
I do think this show's more muted and limited color palate is is more comics accurate than the heavier, more lush colors in the original.
Does anyone have any characters pairings that they would be interested in seeing more of? I've already said I want Donald and Webby, but does anyone have any other characters you would be interested in seeing interact more?

There hasn't been an episode starring two of the triplets bouncing off each other without the third, so I guess I'd like to see that.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The Mark Beaks episode is going to do just that actually.
One Strip! One Strip! In terms of villain team ups, Glomgold/Magica, Glomgold/The Beagle family, Magica/Mark.
I also want to see what happened to Gabby and the Russian wolf brothers after Atlantis.

Actually, more HD&L would be nice. Have you noticed that the new show has a tendency to split the nephews up a lot? Its like the writers don't really know how to write them as a group.
Optimism is a duty.I was looking through the Ducktales Tag on Tumblr, and thought this little fic was adorable. It's Scrooge asking Gyro to look into creating a Launchpad-proof aeroplane, and really shows some of my favorite things about this Scrooge, like his loyalty to his employees, and captures his odd dynamic with Gyro perfectly. (they even make a point to use aeroplane, because it's Ducktales.)

After Darkwing comes along, I'd like to see him take on Glomgold. Even in the BOOM series, he never really had a villain like that.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.That's... the point?? They intend to NOT write the three as a group.
Maybe they mean more of having them interact with each other, and how their personalities affect how their group dynamic?
That would be cool. Generally Darkwing's big villains either tended to be more of the crazy super villain type (except for the holdover James Bond Villain parodies), and it would be fun to see him go up a very different type of villain.

I'm actually wondering if this series will reveal that Launchpad and Darkwing are already working together.
The idea really got into my head after Launchpad's Noodle Incident during the Gladstone ep.
It would kinda cement his status as a Hero of Another Story...well, secondary character of another story.
One Strip! One Strip! They've all been on-screen together a good chunk of times...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I just figured out how they should introduce Darkwing. Like this should be his first line of dialogue.

Fresh-eyed movie blogI am the year-long hiatus right before that episode you've been looking forward to!
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I always considered Darkwing Duck to be OG Ducktales quirkier cousin. More out-there character designs, better and more varied humor, weirder plots and situations, and a ton of heart.

I am the network programmer who thought waiting a month between the premiere and episode two was a good idea!

Well, at least at the Casino, Scrooge had a life threatening adventure.
