Ah, the sleepy town of Salem, Massachusetts. If ever there was a town full of dark secrets, this would be it. From the well-known witch trials of the 17th Century to lesser known eldritch lore and occult mysteries, Salem and indeed, Essex County as a whole, is a hotbed of dark intrigue.
Welcome to Lovecraft Country, enjoy your stay.....
Okay, this RP is a crossover of Callof Cthulhu and Old World Of Darkness, especially Vampire The Masquerade. This RP will start out with Vampires and Mortals being playable, though I may allow other supernatural creatures such as Werewolves, Mages, Faeries, and the like become playable much later.
The setting is Salem, Massachusetts (and by extension, Essex County) at an unspecified point in The '90s. The year is 199X, Bill Clinton is president, the internet as we know it is in its infancy, the original Playstation is king of the consoles, and the economy is booming for now. The Cold War is over and The War on Terror is off in the distance for now. For mortals in America, this is a time of prosperity. But beneath the surface of these good times lies something sinister and unthinkable.
The system is a custom system drawing from both the tabletop and LARP versions of Vampire. If you're not familiar with either system, that is fine, this custom system will be explained in the post and be fairly easy to grasp.
For core reference, the bulk of the actual mechanics (such as disciplines and traits) will come from the book Laws of the Night Revised Edition

Above is a readable pdf you can check out for the disciplines and clan advantages. Some of them will be explained in this post, but not all of them. Ignore metaplot fluff such as Gangrel being listed as an independent clan (In this RP, they are still Camarilla, if you must know).
An important thing to note is that we will NOT be using the metaplot in any way, shape, or form. So Gangrel are still in the Camarilla, the Ravnos are a full clan, and none of those apocalyptic Revised Edition shenanigans have happened yet(nor will they happen at all).
The gamelines Kindred Of The East and Demon The Fallen are explicitly non-canon in this RP. So in other words, Kuei-Jin and Fallen do not exist in this iteration of the World of Darkness.
Now onto the RP details. For now, only vampires and mortal humans will be playable. That may change down the line, but for now let's just focus on vampires and mortals.
