On the other hand, it gets it across in one panel. And the text is more helpful than strictly necessary to me anyway.

Check out my fanfiction!I think 23 is clearer then 18. 18 looks like it could be a lot of things depending on what the caption is, while 23 can pretty much only be this trope.
18.1 seems better to me than 23. Being in color is a plus, but more importantly, 18.1 doesn't need text, while 23 might be a little confusing without it. Also, 18.1 shows an actual battle (also showing both characters both outside and inside the mind more clearly) where 23 is a more of a stare down with words describing it being a battle. I just have to take their word for it. Since Show is better than Tell, I support 18.1.

Bump for votes; only one in the green right now.
Nothing's changed, and I think the vote margins have only spread more, so I think this one's safe to call. The new pic's up, potholed (is that the correct version?), and tagged. Caption or no?
The pothole is fine. There is an anime of the manga, but it never covered the scene portrayed in the picture. The picture is from an OVA that came bundled with the manga volumes.
Reaction Image RepositoryHearing nothing for a caption, let's lock up.

It's a good illustration, but I prefer the Negima pic because it's in color and gets the same concept across without the text.
