If they can equip her with a couple of Harpoon box launchers I bet she could.
And possibly set fire to herself trying to launch the things, but still.
She has not yet begun to fight!
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimThe USS Constitution was one of the few warships available in the Quasi War with France. At the time of the original L'Hermione, they would have been enemies.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."And indeed, the US and UK had an unofficial arrangement during the Quasi-War due to their common enemy. American ships could sail with British convoys and vice versa, and British bases would sell supplies to American warships that put into port. They even had a set of signals they used to communicate with each other and talk smack behind the Frenchies' backs.
But they were most certainly not allies. That would be outrageous.
Soooo...
Hate to change the topic, but Naval Railguns.
What do they actualy sound like? None of the official videos I can find have audio, and I am kinda curious as to if they sound any thing remotely like they do in games.
I KNOW they make noise, even the maglev makes noise, although if I had to guess they sound almost identical to a normal cannon, due to the air being forced out of the barrel....
But that would just be making assumptions.
Pew pew
Oh really when? For purposes of discussion, let's assume it sounds like a freight train.
Satan's nostril evacuations. Crack of Doom.
Pretty much loud enough to let every SSN on the planet know where you are firing from with the aid of their passive SONAR.
Not really that loud. Sounds like a 5 incher almost.
Sound at the 19 second mark.
Yay!
Thanks for actually being able to find one, sounds about like what I thought it would, almost like a more hollow gunshot.

The hollow echo part of the sound has more to do with the test range and the fact they are firing into a testing tunnel.
Who watches the watchmen? What do they actualy sound like?
If you hear them, it missed.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Ahhh okay.
Oooor, it was a friendly.
Projectiles in flight are never friendly (unless they're a really friendly dog), they are merely angry at someone else.
"Friendly fire isn't."
Who watches the watchmen?Projectiles in flight away from you are friendly. To you, anyways.
Nous restons ici.Precisely. It missed...you.

We may not know what the CSS Georgia was supposed to look like, but we're going to find out: the Navy has formally committed one of its salvage units to raising as much of the ship as remains. They only expect to recover metal objects, but that should include the armor box (also weapons, power plant, and propulsion) and give us a good idea of the ship's shape.

I predict a ton of new desk duty guys.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Watch And Hear The Last Time Battleship Wisconsin Fired Its 16 Inch Main Guns.
Painfully 80s Madonna-like club music in the intro aside, that's a sight. A beautiful, beautiful sight.

That dolphin would make a fine meal for the crew.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Nah. There are other ocean fish that are far tastier. There are also the bottom dwelling sea bugs that are indeed very tasty. I am itching for some sea food for some reason.
Who watches the watchmen?I'm reminded of that part from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, where Nemo is showing off all his fancy sea food.
