VOLWIIIIIIIIIICK
I also vote Volwick; I just sorta like the setting.
My vote is for Silver Hands. Good old fashion Fantasy fun is just what the doctor ordered.
While both would result in Fun RPs, I'd have to go with Silver Hands as sandbox RPs tend to have bad luck.
Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.Oh, I like Volwick idea. If I could add my two cents though I would shy away from the all powerful artifact and just focus on a delicate shifting power balance between different sections of the city and/or outside influences. Never been a big fan of all powerful macguffins. But I don't know what you have planed so if you got a good idea on what you want to do, don't let me dissuade you.
How do you kill that which has no life?I'm going to go with the one that has a better-defined endpoint.
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation. If everyone is part of the Inquisition in the second one, where's the player/player conflict?
I'd like the Volwick idea, especially if we can be creative in what supernatural creatures we are.
Exist, pursued by bearHmmm may eventually do both given the responses I'm getting.
Immortal: Hmm thing is that Volwick I have run like three times now and without a central narrative or force of plot, it dies way quickly. The wish granting thing would be something that probably won't be revealed for a good part of the game... though it's possibilities is what shifts the balance and draws more agents in.
Hazzy: There wouldn't be plans for one really. In an RP of this size, if everyone had scattered factions, most anyone wouldn't meet easily and people would drop fast I think. Everyone working together against PvE may be more doable.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.I dunno, sounds like everything'd be entirely driven by you. Would you be making this closed to prevent a large workload?

You say I am loved, when I don’t feel a thing. You say I am strong, when I think I am weak. You say I am held, when I am falling short.Volwick seems like it'd be a better RP to be in.
I'm with Pyrite; if both are potential sandboxes, I'd rather have the one that has a strong central thread or endpoint to keep things in shape.
It's been fun.Ideally I'd like to cross the two somehow but since I can't figure out a reasonable proposal for that I vote Volwick.
Trump delenda estMight be interested in Volwick.
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.I've been trying to do something kind of similar to Volwick City (as in modern day supernatural masquerade stuff), so I would be interested. By the way, have you considered the Artifact being a fake/made up/not there (when there's a bunch of supernatural stuff, just about any rumor will be believed) or having been placed as bait by a Big Bad type?
Oh, and are the two completely separate or would/could The Order of the Silver Hand be in the past for Volwick's universe?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Silver Hand would be in a completely different Universe from Volwick.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.
Good day TV Tropes! Daltar here, trying to come up with my next RP to run.
Right now, I got two basic ideas but I don\'t know which one I want to explore and develop the most at the moment. Thus this thread, where I ask you what you would like to play the most and help me build up fun mechanics for it all to develop.
So first up, here\'s the simple concept for both of them, vaguely Sandboxish R Ps.
Idea 1: Volwick City: Prayer for a Dream.
Once again, trouble is brewing in Volwick city, California, the place where sight unseen by the normal populace, struggles occur between hidden supernatural forces as they all cast their stakes for power, fortune, knowledge or simply, a place where they can live in peace. An Urban Fantasy game with a masquerade, I plan on providing a map of the city divided in tons of little areas. Perhaps as you sign in, you got the option of taking one of these areas as being, in some way, under the protection or dominion of your character and their interests. A big sandbox for the supernatural, though to keep things with a bit more of direction I\'m thinking of setting up an event in motion... A few mysterious happenings all around the city and a missing artifact of incredible power that may grant a wish to the one who holds it in their hands. Due to this, a lot of new entities are entering the city and threatening the peace and balance held by those living within Volwick.
Idea 2: The Order of the Silver Hand: A Light in the Dark. It\'s a bad time for the land of Malorn. The balance of power of the nation of Rilstmarch has been lost as its young Emperor has suddenly been assassinated. A succession crisis between three siblings has plunged the land into chaos and from it opportunism gave way to dozens upon dozens of feudal lords, now unbound by the power of central authority to clash and try to improve their lot in life... to expand their lands and lay low their enemies. The bigger fish may even try to make a bid for control of the entire Empire. Neighboring nations look into the chaos with an appraising eye and some have begun to make their move. And yet, even direr tidings are coming for Malorn... as the cause for the assassination may foretell the approach of an even darker power rising, a darkness brought not of mortal greed but something more ancient and sinister. Cults are rising all around the lands and in these dark times, Princess Lemrina, holding the ancient capital of Rilstmarch, together with the support of the Church of the Sharn the Vigilant, has seen it a priority for a new force to investigate the mystery among this war. Recurring to an old friend, the Princess and Church grant their blessing and patronage to the forming of a new Order, one that can with the blessing of Church can move among the lands in conflict in a way that Feudal Soldiers can\'t. Thus was born the Order of the Silver Hand. Inspired by the concept of Dragon Age: Inquisition though I still have to actually play it, the players will make up the Order as they decide how to solve the mystery of the Emperor\'s Murder and fight the dark cults and fell powers trying to tear the land apart. Taking missions all along the land and expanding the power and resources of the Order will be part of what\'s expected, as well as balancing diplomacy with the various feudal lords as well with the need for force.
Well, those are my two ideas so far... Any interest or recommendations?
