Are we looking at a team-up versus Dokurobei for the finale?

My guess here is that Dokurobei tries to demoralize the Doronbow trio by telling them just how their ancestors helped bring this about and how it was THEIR fault their world is hell. It'll take Galina and Allouette to snap them out of it, but I assume, at the end, that the truth that the original trio turned on Dokurobei before the apocalypse will come out somehow.

Or we could end up with a cliffhanger leading into a second season. Who knows. Feels like things are rushing a bit to more than 2 more episodes can fill in.

I imagine he still has some twisted form of affection for the group, considering he has a portrait of them in his throne room.

Also I can't help but feel Yatter God #1 might be Goro's brother because they look alike. Even for a group of villains who they just pasted glasses on the last four.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

[up] True. But then again, seeing how ruthless his entire operation is, I could see him just having the portrait on hand to fuck with the trio's head all the more and try to use it as the basis of a Breaking Speech.

If he wanted Doronbo's destruction, he just turned down a prime opportunity. This is a pretty obvious recruitment bid towards people taught to revere him as a god.

What's precedent ever done for us?

Yeah, he's probably going to try to hire them. I doubt Leopard will be very happy with the idea though, since he's apparently running this horribly dystopian society that she hates.

Will there be a second season? Can't see them concluding the series in one or two episodes.

Man Dokurobei is a evil, petty dick.

I have to agree that it likely won't end with this season.

I honestly didn't expect a borderline The Caligula. It's like he went off the deep end.

I really can't see the gang taking down Dokurobei in the next episode unless every single person they've helped so far pops up out of nowhere to help them out.

Hm, I don't think they have enough material for a second cour, but finishing it up in one episode would require them to move a lot faster than they have been so far

[up] Actually I think there is, there is Leopard getting into a heroic BSOD realizing her ancestors inadvertly caused the end of the world, there is Alouette finally growing up and becaoming a hero (she might even use her dad's cool lightning cane), her and Galina taking the mantle of the "true" Yatterman and there's the 11 generals being bigger and badder threats, I'll be more disappointed if they just hastily finish the show in one episode.

And they hastily finished the show in one episode, it was incredibly awesome nontheless and just an episode which can count as heartwarming, tearjerking and awesome moment by itself.

I hope they'll have at least another episode with an epilogue or maybe even another season fixing everything that went bad, I just love the cast and it's too good to finish so fast.

Another idea, have a time skip and have Leopard and the gang be thieves, should be fun.

They really could have stood to cut out some of the middle episodes to expand on the ideas in that last one

[up]Yeah, no kidding. Not to mention the re-used fight animation.

Honestly I felt disappointed. I've already thought up a "how it should have ended" sort of thing.

9.9/10, some audio syncs and reused animation stop this episode from being a perfect ending of this.

Season 2, when?

I did like that they showed all the people they met at the end. Including the Yatterbots. I assume they'll do a Heel Turn now that their dick of a boss is dead. No point in being a dick if the guy who programmed you to be a dick is dead.

Doesn't help that the Doronbow are still stuck in their hellhole of an exile after all was said and done and it doesn't look like thing are getting any better.

Also I can honestly picture the original Doronbow whooping it up from the grave now that Dokurobei ended up on the receiving end of the punishment.

Hm, I've seen a lot of series get accused of having been cut in half, but I think this one really was. If you look at the themes and plot progression, it was leading up to Galina and Allouette leading a revolution. This would have tied into the themes of regular people being important, the importance of hope, and the iconic nature of Yatterman, as well as making the eleven Yatter generals' and Dokurobei's defeat plausible. Instead that idea was touched on, then discarded for a giant slugfest that was pretty but thematically empty

I found it strange that they suddenly decided to introduce 11 mini-bosses at the same time, just to have them get wrecked by a simple kamikaze maneuver.

As abrupt (and hastily animated) as the finale was, I really enjoyed it. At least the gang can visit the metropolis whenever they feel like it, as long as they don't put their costumes on.
