Based on the trope's description, Pair the Spares is a form of Cleaning Up Romantic Loose Ends where the former competitors for the main couple are paired off with each other to give them a "happy ending" after their failed romance with the main pair. However, looking at the way many of the examples are being written, it seems more like a situation where "supporting characters are also given romantic plotlines, regardless of their dynamic with the main couple". This is not helped by page quote and the laconic ("All singles are paired with other singles."), which seem to fit the second definition more closely.

The easiest solution is to split the page into two distinct tropes, but I'm not sure which definition is better for the current name.

With such a large trope, we need evidence, not a mere assertion, of misuse. Thusly, declining this thread.
