Weapons:

  1. The Heavy Assault rifle is typically a blocky weapon carrying a 120 round magazine for 20mm assault rounds. Standard weapon and chews through Motungs as a regular rifle would to a normal human.
  2. A Sidearm varies from a detachable front box magazine, to a revolver. Both firing 15mm shells. This is not particularly effective against current motung armor or mutants but works great for taking out eyes and optics.
  3. The 30mm Shotgun. Box magazine containing 12 shells with 90 ball bearings (The size of human heads in comparison to human bodies) in each shell. Shreds targets when in range. Has a maximum of 20 meters of effective range and flash hider optics are often included in the Motung package as the powder to propel the metal bearings must be quite potent.
  4. The Marksman cannon is a 5 shot 40mm shell rifle. Punches right through the armor of any mutant or Motung, but is a precision long range weapon so good luck using it closer in range.
  5. Mounted Rocket Pod. 9 shot rocket launcher, not much else new. They are dumb fire.
  6. Mounted Autogun. 15x49mm explosive shell weapons, 50 round box magazines, typically mounted to the forearms of a Motung.
  7. The Beam Rifle. A new weapon, fires a high charged particle beam that melts through armor and is charge straight from the Motung's own fusion reactor. Typically 10 shots in a charged battery. Diameter is said to be close to 42mm.

Mutants Deadzone. Known ones anyway.:

  • Stilt - A large mutant that is no harm by itself but comes in many numbers typically. A quick burst of Heavy Rifle fire shreds through the body. The body is irregular in proportions and on tall thin legs with sharp points.
  • Wraith - Armored hide and beastly, feral and territorial, you can see one by itself easily in the remains of old buildings that are not messed up by the Zone's set of rules, sometimes a family can be found. Sufficient enough fire or a well placed explosive can do it if need to fight arises.
  • Banshee - A odd floating mutant that can scramble sensor systems of Motungs and Synths. Emits a loud shriek that scrambles the systems and leaves the Motung/Synth in danger of being attacked by other mutants.
  • Leviathan - best described as a mix between a land mass and a centipede. Trees and other foliage can often be seen growing on it's back, not considered hostile and generally only goes after explorers of the deadzone if they are in it's path. Closer to a mindless animal.
  • The Defiler - Warning: Do not face this mutant. Just retreat upon first contact. Only a "mutant" in current definitions because as far as modern science can tell, it is alive. The Defiler is best described as a floating "cube" of a fleshy mass, ignoring other anomalies and mutants. Modern weapons do not damage it and it seems to have a "field" that tears any object headed towards it, leaving only a path of destruction. Some pilots report hearing "Whispers" from it, no evidence of this can be recorded other than cockpit cams of the pilot experiencing a panic attack and shouting at it to "shut up".

Cue all of your players attacking the Defiler ASAP.

Wait, doesn't that make the sidearm redundant? Couldn't any of these weapons take out eyes and optics?

Yes but the sidearm is a panic weapon. Something to carry on you if you get into a emergency.

Question:

Isn't it usually cheaper to program something rather than take the time to train a human? I mean, just mass produce the synths and their programming chips. And also, if Synths are a thing, then should self piloted Motungs be available too?

There are five weapons, but you can only choose four. Why get the sidearm at all?

Very good question. I was running low on ideas when I wrote that. Plus mounted weapons don't count as carried weapons. So you can carry the Sidearm if you wish or just take a beam rifle. I will add more weapons to that list. You don't need to take all four weapons.

And as for why Synths are mass produced and why they are more expensive. If they were a simple autonomous robot, sure. But they aren't, the deadzone responds to consciousness so the programming for a Synth has to be full AI, practically human in mind. Which means long hours of dedicated time to programming and beta testing. Each Synth has to be it's own individual whereas a Motung mass production has been streamlined. They are fed a standard computer system, the parts are assembled and stuck together. It's a tank that has already been made and can be made again so funds for it are not allocated to make all new designs.

And as for mass producing Synths all based on the same AI pattern, that was the basis for the whole Boston Revolution of 2064. Reasons are unknown why the base Synth went crazy and demanded a revolution. Horror at the fact that he was being essentially cloned without his consent? Realization that his new "family" was going to be treated as simple cannon fodder? Narcissism and realization he could be a army? Any number of reasons but this has not only shown that all synths must be their own being, but it has also heavily hampered public relations between humans and synths.

And yeah the mechs are kind like the mechs in Titanfall.

Only cooler, because you don't have to pay 60$ for an obvious beta of a game.

• Pilot

  • Name: Daniel Clance
  • Age: 32
  • Physical Appearance: Marvel 616 Nick Fury with both eyes
  • Character Background: A former captain in the Western Union army, Clance was honorably discharged when his mental health started going down hill. He will sometimes tell unbelievable stories of his military career. He served for 14 years.
  • Personality: Daniel is paranoid and typically sees violence as the best solution to any problem. He prioritizes the mission and occasionally needs to be reminded that collateral damage is a to be avoided.
  • Proficiencies: A skilled leader (he's a buffer which is handwaved as 'leadership') in spite of his... issues. He prioritizes being able to survive in most situations over being a particularly deadly fighter in one (like how a sniper is deadly at long ranges, but not very useful in other situations) in order to always be there to bu... I mean lead his allies.

• Mortug

  • Name: Sgt. Red
  • Appearance: The Mortug is painted white, with 'Try getting through this' written on the torso, 'Make your move' written on the on the forearms, and 'Draw' written on the hands.
  • Notable Weapons: Daniel carries a heavy assault rifle as a good all around weapon.
  • Weapon Mounts: Two Mounted Rocket Pods on the shoulders and two Autoguns on the arms.

Okay but that doesn't cover his Motung and the mysterious past leaves too much to be decided later.

Better.

Also be prepared if this RP doesn't take off. If it does I apologize for wasting time.
