Your first mistake was fighting him on foot.

Coincidentally, that's also your second through fifth mistake.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!

Once I got my team of Level 60 Skells, even his strongest attacks barely did anything.

Also, another reason I like Lailah is the Nagi Overdrive. With 6000 maximum GP and the absurd GP gain from my dual Diskbombs, I can maintain Overdrive almost indefinitely, which gives me immunity to all Debuffs, damage reduction, and constant regen.

Seriously thinking of putting cooldown reducers on my Needleguns and Beamsabers so I can just keep using them to try and activate cockpit time to reset my super weapons.

Infinite Overdrive is also the key to surviving Yggdralith Zero on foot; once you max out Overdrive you'll gain resistances to damage and debuffs (I think). It's a good idea to have a maximum Topple Resistance Augment, because if you get toppled, you're absolutely helpless.

I use three TP Art Gain augments, initiate Defensive Stance, and maintain that Overdrive to survive his nastiest attacks on foot.

I managed to finally do White Lifehold (though I messed up and used my Frame patch item, cause I keep confusing it with the one that heals party members instead of Skells).

Lost two Skells in the fight, but they were the Level 30 ones, and HB was in a 50 like me, so I pulled it off in the end.

Wanted to make some Potential boosting Augments (what did those do again? I keep forgetting) but I couldn't find them in the Augment list for Ground or Skell gear. Guess I gotta check more thoroughly.

Needless to say, I'm feeling good right now. Soon, I'll buy a third Level 50 Skell, and sooner still, I'll be at level 60. Gonna work on a few other missions.

Man, it's been a while, but I believe that the more stars there are for a mission, the higher the difficulty (though at this point, I should be able to kill most anything), and also, when they are big white stars (as opposed to the lighter blue ones) that means it's even tougher still. I just wanted to check.

Been playing the game that long, and I still forget shit like that.

Stars don't always mean difficulty; they (usually) represent when they're unlocked, usually by BLADE level. For instance, you could have a mission where you kill Lambert, the Divine Wind, a level 15 Tyrant, at more than 5 stars, while a mission involving killing Purgovents (the giant massive fish things at level 30) is unlocked at two stars.

Potential increases how much health you gain from soul voices.

Oh right.

Well, my Blade Level is maxed out so I should be pretty good.

Anyway, how do I make Potential Augments, and where do they show up in the Augment creation menu?

I might not have looked through the list as thoroughly as I thought I did.

Oh wait, if they are connected to Soul Voices, they must be in the Soul voice Augments section right?

They are armor augments.

And stat boosting ones.

If it doesn't make you hit things better, the augment is probably for armor, as a rule of thumb.

It also increases the attack power of TP-based attack arts.

That said, Potential Boost maxes out at 100%. But it does take into account any Potential Up gear you have equipped.

Been ages since I sat down to play some XCX.

Today I got chapter 11 done. It was a bit tricky taking out the Ganglion guards on the way to Lao. I ended up taking 4-5 attempts because of that last Tyrant. The XP was good though, so I don't mind.

Other than a lvl 50 Skell. Is there anything I should particularly aim for before chapter 12?

Keep your ground gear up to date- Without going into details beyond this, the final boss will happily drain piloted Skells of all their fuel halfway into the battle.

Ah, as an aside- While far from required, you might want to get your hands on some Intergalactic-rank Level 50 Skell weapons from the mechanoids just north of FN Site 406 in Sylvalum. From there, you can fly off to curbstomp Joker over and over if you feel like going in with a full Level 60 team.

Well, I tried to initiate Definian Love, but not before switching the gender of my character. Lyvia was still "dressed" like a girl, so I guess that quest is locked that way once you beat Chapter 12 or something.

[up][up]To add to that, Phoenix and G-Buster are pretty much two of the best non-super Skell weapons. Phoenix is a Thermal-based AOE attack that extends around your skell, perfect for picking off swarms of weaker enemies. The G-Buster is a massive, shoulder-mounted Gravity sword that does incredible damage to a single target and staggers them. I typically put a Heathorn on the opposite shoulder to add another way to stagger enemies.

Making decent progress at the normal quests with a few of my less used party members to build up affinity. It's annoying though when I get a difficult quest that requires me to switch to Elma, Lin and Hope to take out certain indigens.

I haven't focused too much on Auguments thus far. Are there any I should try to get in particular?

Generally, you should save for the XX level augments.

Particularly good ones include Slayers- Which boost all damage done to certain classes of enemy- And Arts Gain TP, though that one calls for a fair few rare components.

Also important is that ground gear and Skells use different augment types.

Arts Gain TP is one of the most broken augs you can have on foot. The XX version nets you 200 TP per art used. Even ones that cost TP. And with two weapons with maximum slots, you can equip up to six of them, giving you 1200 TP per art (a 200 "profit" if you're using a TP-consuming art).

Another good set to have on foot is four Potential Boosts and a Potential Up. With the right gear and a particular skill, it's possible to get over 200 Potential without these augs. Boosts at XX grade raise your Potential by 25%, and cap at 100%, so you only need four. Up will give you an extra 50. Now your TP arts and Soul Voice heals will be ridiculously effective.

Skells have way more room for Augments, and a particular version of the Diskbomb sidearm will take care of your GP gain, so the Skell version of that Aug isn't a priority. What you'll mainly want is stuff that boosts the amount of damage you can dish out.

And of course, it helps to have EXP UP XX Augments too for your three teammates, especially if you plan to level up anyone other than Elma and Lin.

So I'm looking for some Intelligent Liquid Metal. It's supposed to be in a place in Sylvalum called the South Cinderdunes. I read it was west of the South and North Ciel Sandsea, but I'm still not sure where that is.

Anyone got an idea where I should go?

You know that huge ass lake when you first enter Sylvalum from Primordia? West of that, if memory serves. I'm fairly positive it's one of the names marked on your map.

Might also be good to go off the west coast of Sylvalum/into Sylvalum Waters, I think I found some over there.

I see. When I was first travelling West, I was heading off into the sea, but I stopped because I assumed I was heading into the wrong area.

Thanks.
