Ads instead of pictures tend to be confusing.

While I don't really mind an ad instead of a picture, it is really annoying that there is no clear and instant indication that it is an ad. While some of them are really easy to tell (because of completely different context, moving or having this ADchoice overlay), some of them are harder to tell apart - there was one in particular which was basically a short, four-panel comic; it took me a while to determine that it was in fact an ad unrelated to the trope (the only differentiator there was a small and hard to see watermark and obviously link to a different page), rather than a graphic descriptor without a text.

That's why I'd like to suggest/request a special frame surrounding an ad or some other visual indication that would allow for a clear and instant recognition of the nature of the object.

Already got a thread here. That said, I can't see the square ads anymore ... can someone else?

I wondered if I should post there, but I've decided that my issue is different. I don't mind ads being there, I realise that wiki has to self-sustain itself and it's not really much of a problem to me - which is contrary to the feelings of people who posted in a thread you linked to.

I have problem with the fact that the current form of ads leads to confusion, and thus asked to mark them as such more visibly. Which I believe to be different problem from the one discussed there.

Uh, while I agree, this was fixed by the time you posted it. Square ads are at the bottom of the page now

OK, I'll close, then.
