"...I don't really fancy blackmail. Can't we just talk it over?" He suggested in response, shaking his head. "I mean, something tells me that the fact you have her underwear won't phase her much."

Then Marvin went pale after reading what seemed like an adult's magazine. Considering that he most likely saw his mother in a revealing swimsuit, going pale was well-justified.

"...er, you can keep it." He mumbled, refusing to look anywhere close near the magazine in question. Solus forbids he would see his own mom there.

Scarlet reached over and snatched her magazine back from the boys. The red head took a long look at the photo in question. "Well, I had no idea your mothers were that...flexible." She seemed genuinely awed and respectful instead of mocking for once.

...

Without a word, Raggy snatched the magazine from Scarlet, looking through the photos.

"...I'm burning it to cinder. You're all welcome." He finally replied after taking a really long inhale, folding the piece in two and pocketing it in his coat. His face indicated a rather nasty case of PTSD.

Lena grunted. Her mood had considerably worsened by Nat's entrance. She glared at the girl and then made her way to where Raggy was.

She saw the magazine. Blinked.

"Raggy. Check if mum is there. Do it."

At that moment, two men barged into the classroom. They seemed to be school janitors. They carried a large and heavy looking steel cage and they dropped it in the middle of the classroom. Then, job done, they went on their way.

Quartz paused for a moment, tilting his head in confusion as he watches the whole magazine thing, unaware of what is exactly going on.

"... See, is what I mean by feeling of left out, feels like people either don't see me, or have attention caught by things of other..." He added.

ATMC Dorm

Nodding, Connor responded "Aye, probably best if we head that way. We're runnin' late enough as is. I'll lead you tae where we need tae go."

I think we can prolly cut to the class now.

ATMC Dorm

"Alrighty then, Connor. Lead the way."

And so Sam followed Connor to the classroom, mentally noting the route as he went. Despite the effort he felt it wasn't really necessary, as he'd probably be following his team to class in such cases, and he was sure he'd get the route down before long.

Class

He arrived on-scene, as usual, an imposing presence, having reverted back to "Intimidation Mode" before getting there.

"I am not taking this in my hands unless it's to get rid of it." Raggy declared firmly, shaking his head. "And that is final. I might as well spare you the trauma, Lena."

Hearing Quartz's complaint the gray-hair summoned a small smile on his face. "Sorry for that, my friend. It's just... it was an urgent matter."

And then a new guy showed up, catching Raggy's attention. So he was to be Maren's replacement. Truth be told, Remington grew to like that oddball bookworm, even if he still didn't know what their gender was. "Hello there." He greeted the newcomer, his usual Remington grin and the man himself happy to find a distraction.

Class

Samuel finally arrived, noting an absolute throng of students were outside of the classroom. Teach hasn't gotten here yet? A load of metaphorical sweat wiped itself off of his brow. He couldn't be late if he was there before the prof.

At least, he hoped. It was a reasonable enough rule, but for all he knew the prof could be stricter than safety guidelines.

Nothing someone was saying hello, he nodded, not yet willing to drop his posture in the event someone proved to be an antagonizer. "Hey," he offered, which wasn't really much, but... well, it was something, and that had to count, right?

Right?

Not much of a talker? Well, Raggy didn't mind one bit. "You must be Halle's new partner." He spoke to Samuel, grinning and extending a hand. "Name's Ragnaros. Raggy for short."

Sam slowly started to wind down from his defensive state. It wasn't really voluntary; he was talking to someone, and it was just bad form.

He stuck his hand out and shook with as firm a grip as ever. Somehow, the name "Raggy" seemed funny to him, but he prevented himself from reacting until he could figure out why. "Samuel. Cut out the last three letters and you'll still get my attention. Nice to meet you. Raggy."

"Pleasure's all mine." He replied with a chuckle. To him Sam seemed a bit guarded, but he could understand why. He was a new guy amongst people who've managed to get along reasonably well, already.

"Don't have much time since the professor should be around in a moment, but for quick starters..." He gestured to people gathered, naming them one by one. Obviously he started with Lena.

"We're all companions-in-arms here. If you need any help, any assistance, I and the others are here to, well, help." He finished his introduction with a grin.

"Hm, is fine, just happening a lot lately, is all..." Quartz said, looking down for a second before noticing the newcomer.

"Oh, hey!" He said with a cheerful wave.

A hand landed on Raggy's shoulder. It was Scarlet who stared him down. "I must insist on you giving me the magazine back. Besides having paid for it, it contains valuable information about a certain subject that interests me."

"...I can repay you. Or provide you with archival numbers." He responded, shaking his head. "As long as they don't contain... those photos."

Scarlet shook her head. "Unacceptable, return them to me or I will unleash a weapon more terrifying than you can possibly imagine." The look in her eyes was dead serious.

Offices

Thankfully Tezca, James, Morgan and Iris found the Grimm Studies Office with little trouble.

"I think this is the right place..." Tezca muttered, before knocking on the door. " Professor, are you in?"

Classroom

With the knowledge - from someone who was definitely friendly, if only because the bullies he had dealt with usually weren't interested in a meet-and-greet unless it involved their fist and your face - that everyone was comrades-in-arms, Sam began to relax a little more as he surveyed who he'd be fighting with for the next few years.

He waved to Quartz. "What's up?"

Quartz shrugged at Samuel's question, briefly glancing upwards - wait no, that was a figure of speech, he forgot - Before replying.

"Oh, hm, am doing fine, I guess." he said with a smile.

Samuel quirked an eye. Wait, why'd he stare up? Did he take that literally?

His mind stopped temporarily as it tried to process that. Who takes metaphors literally these days?

"Just got here. I'm honestly surprised class hasn't started yet.

"...as long as it's nowhere in the vicinity of me, Marv or Nat." With a grumble Raggy returned the folded magazine.

"...otherwise I'll have your job as my second for breaking the morale of your own team." He added with a forced chuckle, although considering the rather insincere laugh one could only wonder how much of it was serious.

"Oh, right... Is a bit of weird, I think, teacher in normal doesn't acquire that much lateness..." Quartz remarked, idly straightening the sleeves of his robes as he glanced around, wrapping his wings around his chest.

Sam blinked. Huh. This guy most not speak the local language very well. He nodded. "Yeah. Honestly, considering this is Beacon Academy I'm not sure whether or not I should expect better or be thankful Prof is running late."

Scarlet accepted the magazine with a grin. "Oh relax Rags, it wouldn't destroy the team's morale. It's just a weapon you'd never be able to fight against and leave you physically and mentally unharmed. Really you should count yourself lucky you have someone a kind and discerning as me for your second." Scarlet immediately his the magazine in another notebook and began reading the article she wanted.

"Well, I wish he gets here earlier, so we have more time to get thing done." Quartz replied, pausing for a bit as he glanced around once again, shuffling is feet a bit.

"... Am become a bit impatience, in actual."
