I would like to thank God of Awesome for creating the Frightful Four as he might have created an extra reason of the Chained King's inception.

[up][up]I was going to recreate them. Again.

Wanna replace the Mephisto with Nosferatu, and give the Wendigo and Oni different names, after literary figures associated with the fantasy beings they're supposed to be.

Like Koschei. Koschei is just perfect.

@Go A: My two cents? Name one of them The Nemesis. It's simple but weighty.

For you, Vandal:

The Frightful Four

A name given to a quartet of Grimm species that have caused a great deal of grief to humanity in there every appearance. They also raise a worrying question about the nature of the Grimm. Each Grimm is seemingly an immitation of an animal, and the Frightful Four are made in imitation of the human form. This comes with all the intelligence that implies, with a frightening power to back it and the same antipathy for humanity to drive it.

Fortunately, the Frightful Four appear to be extremely introverted and territorial, at least in regards to other members of their species. A tribe of Hiawatha, a gang of Shutendoji, a coven of Koschei or a family of Mephisto, such things never form. Unfortunately, to other members of the Frightful Four, they get along extremely well and will work in tandem.

Hiawatha
-Appearance: Of the Frightful Four, the Hiawatha are perhaps the least human, looking more simian in appearance. They stand completely upright and manshaped though, with long limbs dangling from their torsos, but are covered in hair and fur from top to bottom. Like all of the Frightful Four, their masks cover their whole faces. The Hiawatha's tend to sport varying animal masks. The younger ones sport antlers, while the older ones have torn those off to use as jagged daggers.
-Abilities: Old tales call them the Stormwalkers, as they moved like lightning and hit like thunder. Their speed is far greater than what even Hunters can normally achieve and their strength is enough to tear one limb to limb if they can grab a hold of them. Worst, the elder ones having grown far more agile in their movement and sport a pair of natural daggers.
-Weakness: Compared to their compatriots below, besides the Mephisto, the Hiawatha have no special resilience of their own and can be as easily killed as any monster, provided they can be tagged.

Shutendoji
-Appearance: Shutendoji appear as towering obese humanoid, twice as tall as a man and six times as wide. The younger ones have a bone growth on their back, one that resemble giant jars with wide bottoms and narrow spouts. As all the Four, their masks can split open to reveal their mouths and their long slathering tongues will dark behind them to sip of a noxious fluid that condenses in these jars. Their masks are elaborate affairs of leering demon faces. The elder ones have ripped the jar from their back, now solid through and through, and hold the narrow neck as handle to wield it as a club.
-Abilities: Shutendoji are pure juggernauts. Their layers of fat insulate them from obscene amounts of damage. They're strong enough to wrestle giant monsters, like Deathstalkers and King Taijutsu, with the older ones being measured as capable of winning easily. The younger ones are always with some massive tree trunk as a club while the elder have used the ones from their backs, harder and denser than steel. Even worst, these elder ones are now sober and very unhappy about it.
-Weakness: They lack any sort of range and their means of locomotion are extremely slow. Although their arms can be fast, and they use the momentum of their swing to turn themselves around.

Koschei
-Appearance: Taller than a man, they are skeletal and gaunt, with flesh pulled tight over their bones. They have a growth of leathery skin forming something like robes on their body. Their masks often resemble skulls. The younger ones have an extension of their spine growing up out of their necks, with a pulsing egg at the top. The older ones have broken off this growth, wielding it like a staff.
-Abilities: By impaling a living egg on the needle potrusion from the back of their necks, they mutate and subsume the fetal animal within, using its aura to wield dust. It will never hatch now, remade into an extension of the Koschei's will. They go out of their way, then, to salvage what dust crystals they can and attach it to the egg. The result is a chaotic mess of differing elements, unpredictable in their effects. This is especially so for the elder one, who have gathered a frightening mass of dust around the avian victim of their parasitic symbiosis. On a purely physical note, they seem remarkably resilient, ignoring wounds that would fell most monsters.
-Weakness: Resilience aside, they otherwise feeble, physically weak, and their movement is that a stumbling hobble.

Mephisto
-Appearance: The most human looking of the Four, they appear as simply an extremely tall, androgynous man with a doll-like anatomy and pitch black skin. Their masks are often human looking. The older the Mephisto, the longer and more numerous the horns and the more they begin to resemble a crown.
-Abilities: Mephisto possess a kind of telepathy, with which they are able to gather other monsters to themselves and control them in organized packs. Younger ones will have a few 'minions', working their way up to full fledged 'army' in their greater age. Alongside their appearance, this has earned them the moniker "Princes Of Darkness". Worst of all is that the rest of the Four will congregate around this leader figure if it's old and powerful enough. Truly, though, their worst power is what they do to people they capture instead of kill. It takes time, but a person's mind can be reshaped with a number of different compulsion. These sleeper agents return as miraculous survivors, often not remembering their ordeal and unaware the work they do for their dark master.
-Weakness: They are as fragile as a Hiawatha, weak as a Koschei and slow as a Shutendoji. Also, their ability to gather a 'force' is entirely age dependent. What's more, youngsters have a tendency to announce their presence to humans in some fashion, leading to an early death. It's also observed that young Mephisto will over reach themselves in controlling 'lesser' grim and be killed. Young Mephisto will even seek one another out to kill each other, often to their mutual assured destruction. Older Mephisto will do the same, wiping out younger potential rivals. Therefore, their population remains exceedingly low, but the few that do manage to remain for long are extremely dangerous.

We seem like we're timeskipping a lot lately. This a normal amount for the game, or...?

Yes, the game does NOT advance based on the day like WAOA or WAOAA Spart.

Only when the GM Says it does, so any time we want to move to a new day, or a couple hours into the future, there is a time skip.

[up] While everyone was fighting the Color War, those Hunters still on the field reported that they weren't sufficient to handle the greater numbers of Grimm incursions.

So, General Rasmus Rammenthal, someone in the mold of Gen. Lagune, requested the formation of 8 penal battalions to be formed and armed, serving as a stopgap measure. The inmates were all volunteers; serve the Kingdoms, redeem yourselves.

History says it failed most spectacularly.

[up] 'Round the time the Color War wrapped up, the handful of survivors made it to the gates and warned everyone that Grimm were on their tails. "Enough to bury the Kingdoms in black," they said.

But as the years passed, the horde never came and reconstruction proceeded apace. Of course, the Kingdoms keep tabs on Grimm migration, so at the very least they'll be prepared.

Also, one of the survivors' name is Merovec. No recorded surname.
