I'd be fine with splitting the "sand necktie" to its own trope and making Buried Alive specifically about being completely buried or entombed for whatever reason. That would also leave Beach Bury for mischievous or non-threatening instances.
The proposed 3 way split seems perfectly logical to me.
This is also the consensus on Lost And Found and the YKTTW entry, should I go ahead and do this then or it needs a crowner?
I joined the police just to kill people. The thing's already launched (Sand Necktie). From my impression of ykttw repair thread customs, the unlaunch is not to be expected (formally speaking, the ykttw didn't have hats and was far from final draft appearance).
This thread can probably be locked and archived right now or in the near future.

Yeah I went ahead and launched the thing myself, also cleaning Buried Alive from the numerous Sand Necktie examples that didn't make it into the "second part" (this sort of thing happening is why I am a Splitter) as well as cleaning Beach Bury from the "intentionally deadly" examples. All it needs is more historical reference in the description (in media, it's usually Pirates, Native Americans and Bedouins doing this, but Wikipedia is devoid of mentioning any)

I joined the police just to kill people. The pages look good. All the incorrect crosswicks have been taken care of between the three pages? Just want to make sure before closing.
Looks like this thread has been finished for some time. Send lazybanshee a PM if that's indeed the case?
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"No wonder we can't open new threads if the finished ones are not wrapped up by the mods.
Sarcasm duly noted.
This page is actually two different tropes: Buried Alive, which is being buried alive in general, via one of the many possible circumstances, from being caught in a building during an earthquake to being mistaken for dead; and Sand Necktie, which is a specific form of execution (typically employed in media by Native Americans, Bedoins, or pirates) where the death comes not from starvation and lack of oxygen, but from the rising tide (beach variants), the scorching sun or hundreds of ant bites (desert variants), or blood loss when animals notice a nice little chunk of fresh meat on the ground that can't fight back, which is in my opinion clearly a specific subtrope of Buried Alive, that is also sometimes alluded to in Beach Bury.
I propose a split. Since many of the examples are already split into a separate category on the page itself, it will be very easy to do.
