Okay, do you remember how they kicked that dragon summon spirit's ass while barricade was beating several shades of hell out of a small army of nerd magicians?
Turns out everyone got rewarded for freeing him via beating the hell out of his summoner too, so he rewarded them with a ton of free gold, and gave them a hint of where there was more treasure to be found. A temple. With free shit in it.
Sadly, it requires travel by boat to get to.
So yeah. That's why they need to convert the gold. To buy a ship and all that good stuff.

The characters are currently traveling back to Arkanea to meet up with Mio, probably considering it probably has an actual banking system compared to the middle of nowhere, if that helps give you ideas on how to rejoin.
