Save the worlds was pretty much the most dangerous episode Penn has ever been in! I could seriously see this as a season finale.

I never noticed how Penn's hair was Unmoving Plaid until the characters pointed out how awesome it was.

[up] Steven Universe did the same thing when they had the Season 1 finale. They probably figured "well we've got a few Season 2 episodes, maybe we can air some of them too".

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

I'll admit - regarding the season finale, I don't have anything to really say. Save for a few iffy lines, everything was spot on, made effective callbacks while not overdoing that, and actually built up what to expect in Season 2, at least in my honest opinion.

As for the show as a whole... I've always felt if the writing were a bit tighter and not trying so hard to be funny all the time, this show could be a even more enjoyable to me than it is now (and probably less hate-worthy, in terms of wide reception, other than just the target audience.). I'm not saying becoming more serious and dramatic or anything, although that would be a plus in this show's favor (kind of a growing the beard, if that's possible.); besides some more and better villains, like Rippen's sister, for example...

Still, I admire the effective use of its core concept (with the plus of spending little time as possible in boring settings like school, of course.), it has a pretty good art-style that really does grab me, and the storytelling does hold my attention, as there isn't a moment where the main point of this show goes ignored - Penn and Co. getting better at being heroes and Penn ultimately saving his parents. It's just the writing and comedy of some characters needed some tightening up.

I still do enjoy this show way more than Star Vs., but it doesn't take a foolish fool to see why this ultimately didn't really catch on like it could have.

Not sure why it should be serious, its fine as it is .-.

[up]I think so too, without the humor it would be a little too bleak.

Just think of all of the times Penn got close to be killed off, the times planets nearly got destroyed and then there was the zombie-apocalypse- Though, on the plus-side I don't think Penn would die if he was killed off in any of those other Universes' seeing how he was just zapped back as he was killed off in the training stage.

I guess that means that the hero they are replacing dies instead of them and Penn cannot return to the dimension when there's no hero.

[up] Maybe so, but I know of too many people who have seen this show & don't find it all that funny, unfortunately. I'm not kidding that that is one of the major reasons this show is looked down upon. It's sad, really - without some humor, this show would be extremely depressing, to be honest - and not in an entertainingly good way.

The humor just needs to be written better, more than anything, so we don't see people clamoring for this show to be dark and edgy, which NEVER turns out well. Not even in fanfiction.

[up][up] The series isn't super consistent about what happens if they die on a mission. In that same episode Sashi implies (while ranting to Penn about why he shouldn't be there) that if Penn does die on an actual mission it'll be for good.

On the other hand, Rippen and Larry seemingly die in defeat all the time - I always assumed that when that happened Phil just pulled them out at the last second.

[up]while we're talking about Phil, with Phylis being around for a while and the implications that they've known each other for a long time are they more like human aliens?

Neither of them seem to really understand human culture either and seem not very passionate about their current jobs. For once: Phylis has a pet bear while Phil's um, diner is called Fish-stick-on-a-stick, that somehow seems like something that aliens trying to cover as humans would do.

Yeah... This show has pretty much been cancelled - there was no news about it at the Upfront for 2016 for DC/DXD/Disney Jr.

Sigh - This sucks. This just really sucks, in my honest opinion.

Season 2 better kick as much ass as possible, otherwise this show is going to be maligned and ridiculed like every current-gen Canadian cartoon out there in existence (and this show is NOT from Canada, either - it came from the US.).

Ugh... I was actually enjoying this show so damn much, despite my criticisms of it, too! It is such a damn shame this show never caught on or truly found a larger audience than it actually did. It wasn't spectacular, but it was far from terrible like some assholes on 4chan likely make it out to be. Sigh...

Well he did say that Wander Over Yonder got cancelled because they didn't say anything about it too. I have heard nothing from Mc Cracken on it being cancelled, so it's just Shokew's doomsaying.

I figured. Just because a show isn't stated in an Upfront doesn't mean it's canceled. But this is the internet, where I MUST have SOMETHING to worry about! :D

I feel happier knowing what I think I know didn't come from Tumblr, to be honest. But none of that changes the fact that any it wasn't mentioned in the recent Upfront. I know it's not like this show was all that spectacular or popular to begin with, but I actually did enjoy this show and was sad to not see a mention of it anywhere, which feels like a sign of the obvious to me. Same with Wander Over Yonder.

I just wish the obvious was not a worse case scenario, which this comes off to me as, unfortunately.

If anyone still cares about this show, I have this link here:

http://samakaphyllis.tumblr.com/post/147505323690/hey-pzeeps-im-making-this-announcement-to-let

I'm a bit sad, but also not surprised by this. Again (I've said this before.), this show wasn't truly popular or noteworthy like say - Wander Over Yonder or Star Vs The Forces Of Evil turned out...

As someone who otherwise liked this show for its concept and art-style, even I know that when your writing and characterization leave something to be desired, you're not going to attract anyone to your show - especially in this generation of cartoons, where writing and characterization are everything to keeping an audience, besides just looking decent.

Season 2 doesn't come out until 2017 - I can only hope the writing and characterization are royally improved upon so this series goes out properly.

Oh wow, a Disney XD cartoon only getting 2 seasons. Shocker.

Seriously though, I'm just glad we're getting at least ONE more season of this.

Its a bittersweet kind of sad. I feel like you could have easily expanded this universe more, and this show was truly original with its premises- what if you had cowboys riding around on dinosaurs?! That creativity was something that stood out to me and drew me back. I've seen lots of shows boast it, but Penn Zero is one of the few that I feel could truthfully state that. You were talking about the humor, and I felt the humor in this shows was good. Not in a super hilarious way, but I found it more consistently funny than a show like Star Vs (but that may just be me). Characters- they worked fine, but I agree that they could have been better. I don't know how, or if they were particularly bad, they just felt like they were missing something to truly connect with me. All in all, while I could come back to this show and be entertained pretty regularly. Its all I really wanted from this show, and while I would have wanted more, I'm glad that we got what we got and that this show can at least end on its own terms.

Sorry if that got lengthy, I just wanted it to get my thought out there as this show feels underappreciated.
