Agreed; the pic is running with the trope name and not the actual trope...it's kind of a misleading name, that's not helping anything.
Add a caption with something like, "You can easily finish the game before level 100."
Check out my fanfiction!I thought I saw this thread being made before, and it was closed because Lu thought it was illustrative enough.
Anyway, the caption can be changed to something like Duck's suggestion, and it would be alright.
'The final boss is level 90' which is true it is 90.

I was thinking the same thing. What's really strange is that, according to the page history, Willbyr was the one who put the note linking to that thread on the page—and yet now this thread is open, even though the OP (by the same person) is essentially making the same argument as last time. Color me confused.
Er, anyway, I guess I can see how the image wouldn't quite guide readers in the proper direction, but I'm at a loss for better ways to picture the trope.

Whoops...well, changing the caption to point out the actual level cap instead of what's there will help, so I'm fine with 5.

here is a pic of the stats of the final boss of the second game◊ I can not find a pic of the final boss of the first game but it is pretty much the same.
Not sure that's really necessary though. It's just making the image busier than it should be.
A caption change would be a fair compromise. The important point to get out is how high it is relative to what you need for the last boss.
What sucks though with our current image is the stats in the image are so low for the series... compare D4's ultimate bonus boss◊ But I really can't find anything better for the actual characters.
I like how the stats don't even fit the stat screen. But it's the boss, not the player characters, so it doesn't fit the trope.

And then we have the same as the current image, give or take quality. Remember that the stats don't actually illustrate the trope. It's only about the level.
Check out my fanfiction! For now, I've amended the caption as per Another Duck's suggestion.
"For reference" is Word Cruft.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Clock is set.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm still good with adding a caption to the current to show the discrepancy, per 5.
5 is OK for me as an option, by the way.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think it's fine as is now that the caption has been added.
Agreed, the new caption fixes the initial problem. I'm good to close this; anyone else?

Since it's been almost a week, that's good enough for me. Locking up.
The description of the trope is "level cap that is much higher than needed to complete the game"—for example, a game with a level cap of 99 that can be completed at level 50.
The image shows a character profile with the level shown at 9999, some stats, and nothing else.
The third paragraph of the trope description reads: "Note that this is not just about games with really, really high level caps, but for games where poor pacing of experience means you won't get anywhere near it without absurd amounts of Level Grinding. A game can have a level cap of, say, 30, but if you reach about 15 by the end of the game, it counts. (Likewise, if the level cap is something like 999, but is easily attainable by the end of the game, this trope does not apply)"
Let's just say someone who has no knowledge of Disgaea were to look at this image: How could such a reader tell whether lv. 9999 is reachable well before the end of the game (especially without any level-boosting sidequests), or the level requires sinking in a lot of time that is well beyond needed to finish the game?
I propose that this page be stripped of its image, unless someone else has a better idea for an image that would be relevant to the trope.
