The current is definitely weak, but I don't know that the suggestion will be legible at wiki size without serious Photoshopping.
I don't find that suggestion more illustrative than the current.
Check out my fanfiction! From the last two panels, the first word baloon comes off as more of an order or a statement instead of a verification of disbelief without the context of the panel right above it.
I should be able to 'shop the panels into something more wiki-appropriate if there's enough support for the image itself.
It seems to communicate the context fine on its own, to me.
I don't really see too much of a problem with the current, personally.
Moon◊I prefer the current, but would like to expand it to double size to make it more legible.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Won't work. 240px * 2 = 480px, which is 130px too wide.
Moon◊Neither current nor suggestion are that good for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI seem to recall a better one from the same comic about an argument between two characters, one in critical health asking for the other to use a vulnerary (i.e. a healing potion, for those not familiar with the Fire Emblem series). The second says he's saving them for emergencies, to which the first objects that this is an emergency.
Unfortunately, I can't remember which one it is
EDIT: Ah, here it is!

The Awkward Zombie comics are excellent examples, but I'm honestly not finding a decent single (or two or three) panels that will really work on their own. I'd rather keep the current. The claim they're not clear if you haven't played FF doesn't hold water, given, well, I haven't played the games other than Tactics and it seems obvious to me.

For using the first 3 panels from 10.
I have severe doubts that those three panels will be legible at wiki size.
Tried my best to get a reasonable crop of 10.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Yeah, I have to squint to read that.
Really? I can read it just fine.
Having 50 of them is more Awesome But Practical, if he had 1 or 2 then it would be this trope.

The fact that the other guy insists on conserving the stuff is what makes it this trope. Awesome Yet Practical is not even a trope anymore, so I'm not sure what you're getting at there.
Rodney's version works better than I anticipated.
Rodney's version is good. It's pretty clear that they have a bunch of them, and the guy is refusing to use them anyway.
Reaction Image RepositoryIt's really debatable whether that's an example. I'd anticipate another thread down the line if we go with that.
It's... actually not an example. It's closer to being a Player Tic than an example, because they're common and not that great.

The current is a good example, but it's not very clear if you're not familiar with Final Fantasy. What if we were to replace it with the last two panels from this comic? Illustrative and funny.
