As of now, I have 6 hours of playtime as Lucio. So far I have 60% of win ratio. Is that considered good or bad? I never played any competitive play, btw.

Say, when do you become good enough for a competitive play?

Don't solo queue as a support.

Just don't.

[up]Especially in comp. I guarantee if you lose in comp then a lot of people will either blame you and harass you for the crime of not healing them through the attacks of five people (even if you're the only healer) or start bickering like grade school kids.

Ana's Calm down children voiceline is rather fitting for these happenings.

Say, when do you become good enough for a competitive play?

Well, since you get grouped with people around your skill level; always. I'd try it out. If it turns out to not be any fun, you can always stop playing further competitive games.

Sounds good enough.

Going back to topic of Lucio, and God bless this guy, today I learned that Lucio can also great at providing suppressive fire. This makes playing the offense at Illios so easy as a Lucio player. First, speedboost-amp everyone into the objective and be at the spot where there is three or more allies being healed/boosted. Then just keep on firing potshots at every corner and balconies where I see the slightest trace of red outline, occasionally blasting back Tracer/Junkrat/Roadhog that try to get into the objective, preferrably to their death.

Now, playing as the defense is slightly harder, but still pretty damn fun. Again, circle around the area and continuously heal three or more allies and throw potshots everywhere. If anybody gets too close, turn on the speed, circle around and blast them into the well. My personal best: 4 environmental kills in that map.

So far, I never lost in that map. cool

On average, I'm getting around 6 kills, with my personal best being 11. It's as if my playstyle is actually a lovechild of Mercy and Soldier:76 (shipping totally intended). [lol]

[up] Playing on Illios as Lucio is the best thing ever and nothing will possibly change my mind.

If I'm playing with lower-level peoplenote  and it's on the sub-map with the hole inside the control point, my favorite thing to do is wall-ride inside of the hole and see how long it takes for the enemy to shoot me.note  It's stupid, but fun.

I sure hope you've gotten the achievement for Lucio by now, god knows I've been trying.

Get three finishing blows with Lucio while wallriding is best achieved by booping someone off and wallriding immediately after.

Level doesn't really matter. As far as quality of play does, only skill rating does.

Hmm...I haven't actually tried that just yet. I really should.

I once killed a Junkrat throwing potshots from a corner by running towards him and keep on firing at him while wallriding. I could just feel the confusion. evil grin

But honestly, freaking Junkrat. I think as a Lucio player, I got killed by Junkrats the most.

Yes, but I see level as an indicator of experience with the game (as you get more level experience with every match you play), which doesn't directly translate to skill. But I still just use it as a rule of thumb, because one could already have a lot of knowledge about playing the game before they purchase it through watching other people play on Youtube/Twitch.

I can't use skill rating as an indicator because those (to my knowledge) are competitive only, and competitive is waayyy too salty for me.

There's apparently a Halloween thing going to be happening. Junkrat might get a Victor Frankenstein skin.

I was pretty sure there would be a Halloween event considering some voice lines of it were found in the game a long time ago.

I hope they give a call back to Recall by giving Mercy her witch costume tongue

My next challenge as Lucio. Since I got the hang of attacking while moving fast, I should try attacking...while wallriding.

If I get myself an environmental kill while wallriding, I'll be so damn pumped.

By technicality yes as it's very heavily implied that she revived Reaper wrong and that he views himself as a monster.

She doesn't have Frankenstein's personality though (Junkrat certainly does). Despite resembling him quite a lot Mercy is no where near crazy as the Team Fortress 2 Medic. The Medic has a Frankenstein costume....

Yeah, I find Mercy to be the hottest female character in this game. [lol]

Today's Play as Lucio.

No matter which map I play at, trying to push off a Pharah or a Roadhog that still has the Hook is a bad, bad idea. [lol]

Just had a hilarious and awesome moment.

So I was playing as Lucio on Mumbani. I took a wrong turn trying to run away from an enemy Tracer. Then I turned a corner and was spotted by a Reaper and a Lucio. Now, I've encountered Reaper enough to both run away from or outright kill one, but Lucio was a problem. I evaded Reaper but was pursued by the Lucio.

You know that round, smooth looking wall near a ledge? Well, I rode that wall and safely jumped onto another side ledge...and then I heard a very distinct sound of a Lucio falling to his death. evil grin

Man, that's the first time I actually survived by wallriding. cool

I can't help but feel salty that tracers recall heals her through Biotic grenade. I get that recall cleanses tracer of all debuffs but goddamn do I want /something/ that I can use against her.

Well, time to vent, because I finally encountered my first instance of toxicity.

I was playing ranked. Volskya. Defense first. Normally I would have picked Symmetra, but we already had two supports. There was also a Rein, and finally a two-person group of a Genji, and Mccree. Since I still wanted a builder and we probably could have used one defense hero, I went with Torb. I know that some heroes can get around the back, so I like leaving a turret to cover that flank.

So I build my turret on one of the usual spots and the Genji and Mccree start teabagging it. I didn't think much of it. We lost the first point, but managed to defend the second. I got gold in eliminations and thought I did a good job giving everyone armor.

After that round I got a message from the Genji saying "Your welcome for the carry, don't use Torb." I rolled my eyes and replied with "Don't care." I chose Ana for the attack, but we didn't even get the first point. Then the Mccree sends a message saying I suck, and then I ended up having a back and forth between these two other players, with them telling me to go back to quickplay, calling me trash, saying I didn't know what I was doing. Then I blocked them.

Fuck those douchebags. It's bullshit they carried us. I checked their stats, they have more losses than wins, one was lower rank than me, and it looks like each only played Genji and Mccree respectively. I now understand what exactly a "tryhard" is. If they blame me for the loss, then good. Fucktards like that don't deserve to win.
