I pretty much single-handedly carried a team to victory in Good, Bad and Ugly mode today as Roadhog in Numbani on defense: by the time it was over, I had 21 eliminations, 13 objective kills, a gold in objective time with 25 seconds, 5,741 damage done, and 3,873 healing (all golds); plus I got POTG for a particularly critical Whole Hog that pushed three people off the payload, and the other team's Reaper and I were the only ones to get end-of-match cards for our efforts. Not a bad match at all, plus I've gotten super-good at hooking people (20 in that match, to be exact).

Serving Crits
My friends finally caved and brought Overwatch, and we played Quick Play as a team today.
Gotta say, it really made a difference. Even as noobs, they coordinated with the team and pushes to wins much more capably than playing alone on Quick play.

The woes of playing Mercy with people who go solo:
"No, get back here you moron!"
"Defend the point/Move the Payload/Stop the damn Payload!"
"Can you assholes try to defend your healer?!"
"Do you idiots even want to win?!"
"Hold still so I can heal you!"
The one thing that every Mercy player needs to learn eventually (or as Medic on TF 2, as I did), is that you can't heal stupidity. Give up on those that keep getting themselves killed by suicide charging into the enemy and focus on keeping the smarter lemmings alive instead.
You know what pisses me off when playing Reinhardt? People, particularly those playing Soldier 76, just sprinting ahead of my shield and getting insta-sniped. Seriously, that's just so demoralising. How am I supposed to do my job when people just completely ignore me like that?
Then again, there's not much point to playing Mercy any more. Zenyatta can heal, boost damage and dish it out all at the same time. Mercy just doesn't bring enough to the fight any more.
Can Zenyatta revive an entire team?

No but he can prevent it from dying if he uses his ult at the right time
Really, Lucio+Zenyatta is a really strong comp. And Ana does more healing per second than her anyway

Time to roll the dice
It's one weakness is that it can't protect squishies from high burst damage, but that's what Lucio's ult is for.
About the only advantage Mercy has over other healers is her mobility, but that's very much dependent on your team. It's also kind of negated by the fact that she's the only one who needs to be close to heal. Maybe they need to increase her beam's range or boost the rate a which she heals or the damage boost percentage. Maybe make her heal almost as good as Zen's ult, just limited to one person.

What if her beam healed and boosted damage at the same time? You know, without switching. They might have to dial back the damage boost back to the old 30%, but it would make her more competitive against Zenyatta's kit.
I'd say just up her heal-per-second by 10%, and make her guardian angel a bit faster. Mercy can still be viable with a few buffs to those areas.

Oh yeah, last side note since we're talking about Mercy: I thought that this fandom would be exempt from shipping wars, but that idealism bit me the ass again.
Apparently, a lot of PharMercy shippers really fucking hate Mercy76 and everyone who ships them. note

Holy shit, and I thought the Dead Sea was the saltiest place on Earth. Ok not really, but wow... never really knew ship hate of that level existed in this fandom.

That happened to me too. I think its because there are multiple rounds that it winds up calculating the kill percentage oddly in the end.
Mercy can be a hassle to play as, even wiith good teammates. But getting that clutch save with a good rez makes it worth the trouble.
And if you're accompanied by a Lucio/Ana/76 to help you with the healing, then that's also a bonus.
Going back to the Ship-to-Ship Combat thing with Mercy, it just kinda baffled me that 2 months into the lifespan of the fandom, people are already delving into ship wars. Shit like that usually takes more than two months IIRC to start brewing.
