On Diversifying A Fantasy Party (But not in the way you'd think)

I'm not saying you shouldn't add diversity, but slapping a different skin color on a character and calling it diversity isn't going to do anything for the story.

Take in account of culture of the races you want to represent. Look up stereotypes to avoid but address , and try to avoid the "token" (have a wide array of races with more than one of each).

I'd also suggest checking out this blog because they'd give more advice than I can now.

Your characters seem rounded too, so you're on the right track.

I'd suggest that the main thing is to be fresh rather than stereotypical.

For example Dalv's character outline sounds familiar (Faye Valentine comes to mind) but she also seems well-rounded. I don't think I've ever seen a minority take that role. So I think that would be different. Whereas lot of token minority characters seem to end up with Fred's role in many stories.

Avoiding lazy associations and played-out racial archetypes (subjectively boring and annoying anyway) is the main thing in my opinion.

Well, this is certainly far better advice than I could ever hope to give. I might have to take a look at this myself.
