When should we get the Twice episode?

So, I'm confused. The flashback panel shows Shoto's three siblings, of which we haven't met the oldest, Fuyumi is second and Natsuo is the second youngest. But in that pic, the oldest looks pretty much exactly like Natsuo and the youngest looks completely different, and most tellingly his eyes are covered. Is that supposed to be a young Natsuo that looked way different from how he does now and his older brother looks identical to him? Or just continuity error?

It means the oldest was tiny as a kid. Not hard to get.

So how many episodes has the anime left to go? Because at that rate, they might even have enough time to cover the Overhaul arc.

The Overhaul arc is twice the length of the Sports Festival. They will need an entire season just for that.

Next is the Hero License Exam which will probably take up the next twelve episodes with the season ending on Bakugou vs Deku Round 2.

Twice's chapter will probably be the beginning of Season 4.

Also, think you accidentally switched the adjectives around there.

Also man, and I thought Bleachwas bad when it gave Orihime the most powerful ability in the series and then promptly had her spend the entire rest of the series as a Damsel in Distress.

That's not even remotely true. You know the series extends past Aizen right?

Well, she did come up with a new technique that combined her shields (the ability she was most proficient with) with her attack (which she was weakest with), creating a pretty nice Counter-Attack.

Unfortunately, it never went beyond that. It was a nice touch though, and took her previous development into account.

Yeah but that's unrelated to saying she was a Damsel in Distress.

She got to be part of the final battle against Yhwach and showed off the ability to block his attacks, which is probably her best showing. Yeah, she ended up being defeated, but look how Ichigo ended up in that fight.

Twice's chapter will probably be the beginning of Season 4.

I rather expect S4 to start with Nighteye's or Tintin's introduction, personally. S3 has been pretty fast-paced so far.

Really, the oldest Todoroki kid looking so young can easily be explained by saying he was sickly or something. And when you combine that with the Dabi theories you can easily get stuff like him having an inferiority complex to all of his siblings, and especially Shoto.

@LSBK: No? Sometimes Big Little Brother is in effect, but not as small children when their growth is most pronounced. IIRC, Shouto's 15-16, Netsuo is 19-ish and Fuyumi is 22-23, which fits the timeframe of people in MHA manifesting Quirks at 4-sh (hence Endeavor trying again). A 14 year old looking older than their 18 year old brother is not rare, but the same won't happen when they're 4 and 8.

You don't need to guess any of their ages, we know how old they all are, Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shoto are 22, 19, and 15, respectively. We got told how old the first two are in last weeks chapter.

If your point is that the one who looks like Natsuo must not be him, because he wouldn't look that much older than his older brother at the time, I'll just repeat what I said: that probably means it's going to come up later.

The three there looked like they were 6-7 years old. Otherwise the eldest being a teenager who looks 4 wouldn't be right.

I mean, there could be a chance the oldest Todoroki is really small. Or maybe Natsuo was really big as a child (Don't forget daddy endeavor is a 7'2 man)

@Saiga: I honestly lost track of Bleach around the time Kubo decided to introduce roughly another 87 characters and also give Ichigo nearly every single powerup the series has to offer. Not to mention the whole "Aizen only lost because he subconsciously wanted to" part of it. It's nice that Orihime did get some time to shine, but by that point the series' other issues had grown so bad that that didn't really save it.

Also, we've talked a lot about crap shonen, what are some actual good ones?

I never really got the complaint about Ichigo "being everything", especially when my complaint was the opposite: his potential was highly underutilized.

Regardless, Bleach had issues with female characters. So does MHA, and One Piece, and Naruto, Shokugeki no Soma, Dragon Ball, and probably most popular Shonen manga to varying degrees.

Personally, I think most of those also have their good (or at least not terrible) moments with them, and I often don't usually see merit in comparisons like this because they don't usually seem to have a constructive point to them.

Personally, I always liked the "Ichigo had a bit of everything in him" idea.

I think the female characters thing is a combination of Japan's views towards women and the fact that shonen manga's target demographic is young boys.

It was a cool idea, and I liked how it tied together a lot of plot threads, but it had very little foreshadowing, and at that point the author had such a history of having characters pull new powers out of their asses just by wanting it really bad that it came across as piling too much stuff onto one character. Ichigo was more interesting as a random kid who happened to get lucky with his spirit power level as opposed to being the chosen one.

And yeah, now that I think about it the preponderance of male characters in the series is probably due to the fact that it's targeted at boys who are roughly the same age as those characters, so naturally they're going to get more screentime as they're considered more relatable.

I mean, I don't agree with characters pulling powers at of their asses from nowhere, but I long ago learned there's no point in debating that.

I suppose relatability is one reason for it. Though this is probably just a rationalization on my part, I've often imagined that Pro Hero is a pretty male-dominated field. I'd be interested in that being brought up in the series itself, although even when series acknowledge things like that, that's not guarantee that it'll be handled well.

By the end, Bleach fights were essentially turn-based combat where the rule was "Whoever releases their full power first loses".

Back to something approaching the topic, I had an idea for a concept for a possible hero character. Nothing serious, I probably wouldn't do a fanfic or something with it myself, but I felt like tossing it out there.

The Chronic Hero: Samaritan

No quirk in mind yet (as I said, still a concept) but the premise is that Samaritan didn't so much want to be a Hero, but because he has an almost pathological inability to ignore people who need help, "Hero" was the only job he could do if he wanted to have a hope of surviving in Hero Society. Otherwise he'd have constantly run into problems similar to what got Gentle in so much trouble.

There's actually a fanfic where Izuku has a quirk that is a danger sense complete with the pathological need to intercept said danger.

Izuku's canon quirk is "Madman"

It allows him to gain a ridiculous amount of courage and determination. The downside is that he foregoes any sense of personal protection or danger prevention.
