"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."Hmm. Interested, but must know more. Like, what causes the transplants, is it known or a mystery ala Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi? Also, must decide on a character- The Doctor, maybe...
Such RP. Many Interest. Very Crossover.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget? Not sure. Not sure if we're gonna have an ongoing plotline... I'm more interested on the whole 'let's see what happens to this story we know and love when the characters are replaced by completely different people', and if they have an objective of getting back home, that might get in the way of that.
I'm very intrested.
I wonder the Guy from Zelda becomes a Starbounder?
That will be awesome!!!!!
And What if Uub was a starbounder?
Too.....Much......Awesomeness......*Dies of awesome.*
I care for Starbound: My universe, My home, My unification. For the Peglaci as we know it.Question: this is basically a Transplanted Character Fic for the characters, right?
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundThis sounds awesome!
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song.Huh...
Conception is sin Birth is pain Life is toil Death is inevitableDon't take this the wrong way Strat, but I have personally watched you form and then abandon three separate R Ps over the course of the year. What's different about this one?
If I had that kind of power, I'd have dropped a meteor on your house ages ago~Considering one of them was more of an off-hands project and the other never had enough players, I guess I can say this one will not go through the same problems.
The problem with my R Ps often comes down to things just stalling, which was the problem with the third one. That... I don't know how to fix.
A stalled RP is usually not going to last for long. The only case where stalls do not kill an RP is when it has enough inertia, cf. "A Game of Gods".
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundSeems interesting. But I'm wondering how it'd play out with multiple players; each one writing about a different story at the same time, or would it be like that one other RP where they placed characters into genre roles (as in having all characters replace one role in a story)?
The key to a successful RPG is knowing what your players expect and then providing it- that can be tricky sometimes. So, let's discuss the idea further first.
Personally, I would enjoy it as a mystery, eg. the characters just awake in one reality after the next, complete with new lives but no memory of how they gained them. Along the way they will find clues as to what's going on, and will eventually discover the truth; then the game ends or continues (perhaps with them in control.) This is what they did in Abenobashi (and I think they did an awesome job.)
Also, I'm definitely considering using The Doctor (the 4th to be specific, he's the one I'm most familiar with.) But I fear he might be a little too "Sueish" even without his tech. What do you folk think?

What does his Sonic work on?
Also, I feel that the Doctor is not suited for RPs; mainly because his main way of dealing with things is foreknowledge, and he kinda lacks that when put into places that aren't the Whoniverse.
What if a universe was combined by a force of dark forces from other universes? That will change the course of this RP. Same with mine but more dark themed.
A. A Dark RP?
B. A Massive Crossover?
C. Other...
I care for Starbound: My universe, My home, My unification. For the Peglaci as we know it.I can't parse what you're saying, can you please rephrase that?
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundI, uh, don't think it's very polite to suggest radically changing plot points for someone else's Rp, man.
Also, seeing as how I've been completing the franchise recently, who here thinks Sam & Max from the TellTale series would be a good idea to bring into this? Or, maybe just Sam, depending on what the character limit would turn out being.

On the contrary, I've seen many people work with him great. The Doctor is a very hard person to write, but he is so good when written well.
You probably need someone of Lily Winterwood's calibre to do it right. Or hS. Haven't seen anybody hereabouts that could do it.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundMaybe not in long, prose-like fashion, but I have a good friend who plays the Doc very in-character, and he tends to function well in plots, without foreknowledge.
Well, I certainly can't judge those things that I cannot know. That said, I do not mean to say that RPing the Doctor well is impossible; merely very very very hard.

Have you ever said these following phrases?
'Come on, you gotta be kidding me! You know who would take this situation perfectly? Character Y. You can even strip him of his powers and he'd do fine!'
'I find it odd we're referring to our favorite characters by variables, but, yes, I agree, Character Z would be the best one to handle this situation.'
Well, talk no longer! Because I have a proposal for all of you. An interest check, if you may. A crossover RP with a twist- a lemon twist.
For in this RP, you'll be choosing a character, and your character will be taking over another character from a completely different world. Doesn't make sense? Allow me to elucidate: imagine you pick Sherlock Holmes. Now that you have your character, the players and the GM will decide which world they'll 'visit' next, like the world of Half-Life. And then, you get to choose what character Sherlock Holmes gets to replace- perhaps Dr. Gordon Freeman? With every new world, a new character. But the fun of the game comes from the fact that you're playing Sherlock Holmes in the role of Gordon Freeman. His personality is still Holmes', the only thing that changes is the role. Heck, even the backstory will change- who's saying Gordon Freeman will remain a lowly scientist in Black Mesa if he has one of the biggest I Qs in the world?
That's the fun of the game: choosing a character and putting him in a completely different role. What if Jotaro Kujo was the kid from Vault 101? What if the Heavy was a teenage mutant ninja turtle? The possibilities are endless.
Of course, games can't be made without players, so use this thread to sound off your interest, or leave a comment, questions or suggestions!
