Chap 2 is out by the way (and someone else released an unproofed version two hours before I did, yay). We get to know a bit more about the COOL AND GALLANT KNIGHT!!

Oh, man, that feeling when you post a draft of a fanfic and your proofreader tears you a new one. Very familiar.

Matsuda's clearly drawing from experience for this one. I really like his examination of the whole creative process so far.

Chap three is out, introducing Akane Alice, who's got all the demonic basics down.

And Mikeya's curse strikes again.

Oh wow she even mentions candy in her spiel. And yeah, Hachi's getting hit with a series case of Always Someone Better in Mikeya. Hopefully he'll use that as motivation to improve his own work without losing his own style.

Yeah, and I hope we see a bit more of what Hachi's drawings actually look like. So far we've only had glimpses. Still, Hachi and Mikeya are similar in the sense that they have a severe inferiority complex. Except Mikeya seems to underestimate how gifted he actually is.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we never actually see their work. When the whole setup is based on "this dude's work is incredibly good" it's kind of setting a really high bar, and risks falling into Informed Attribute territory if it doesn't live up to how it's treated in-universe.
