Naima blinked at Alice. That didn't sound good. And then Ayers explained about keeping a piece of Mia and-

Wait.

What.

The look she gave him was one of shock. And horror. And a lot more shock.

"That's... nice." She lied, sort of scooting away from him to stand closer to Yun. "Hey!" She not so subtly whispered to him. "He has a piece of Mia! That's kind of freaky, right?"

Talk of infiltrating Olympos Tower however got her mind off Ayers and his macabre tribute to a dead girl.

"...Is this all related to Mia? Did... did something really bad happen to her? She mentioned hating her father..."

Yun shrugged. "Depends how you look at it, I guess. I like to think that Mia's fighting alongside him in every battle…plus she'll never be alone."

Niama's second comment got a bigger reaction out of him though. "Hey Ayers…incidentally, did the weapon girl's father have anything to do with her...ending up that way?"

"Surrender? No. I'm going to wipe the floor with you," said Ai.

Ai approached Charisse and Glen with her guard raised. She assumed the same stance as their last duel.

"Dear, dear. I was hoping you all wouldn't notice me and the three of you would duke it out," she said. "Then I could sweep the floor with the last one standing."

"They wouldn't just leave those documents in public view though," Lucas said to Yun. "It's going to take more than an appointment to get what we need to shut this place down."

When the topic of Mia came up, he turned to face the girl who asked. "Maximilian Alexandros's company, Olympos Corporation, funded Professor Steiner's Weapon Girls project. He even gave Mia to Steiner to be experimented on. By the time of Operation Moonfall, she was so throuroughly experimented on and brainwashed that she was little more than a unthinking, emotionless shell of a human, controlled directly by Steiner himself."

"He called her Delta-Four," he said clenching his fists. "His greatest success."

"Yeah, he relegated the dirty work to some down-low houndog named Steiner'r something." Ayers replied, firing his own glare back at Naima. "Sold's own daughter off to git cyberized, then Pius killed all the bits whut wuz actually controlling'r, I memorialized'r in my arm—and yeah, Namer'r whutever y'all're called, I did aks first, and she's fucking fine with it." He began drumming his fingers on the table. "Now here's the thing though: I ain't supporting no fucking raids on Olympos unless Mia does. If'n she wants to just let the past stay in the past, y'all gotta unnerstand that that's her perpogative."

As he watched Ghatz slide across the floor, Glen grinned and shouted "That was a braw fine fight!" before making his way towards Charisse and Ai. Opting to take advantage of how the pair were facing off against each other, Glen bum-rushed Charisse in an attempt to lift her off of the ground and promptly slam her back down as quickly as possible.

Oh, great. Not only did this absurd little skit do nothing to soothe her mood, she even had a consolate prize tossed her way. It'd make her puke if she wasn't thinking of her future with her partner. She'd have to shelve her pride, her own little battlefield paradise if it meant she could do right by Noiri.

"Fuckers." She held the brim of her cap, before deciding to speak up.

"Ya said ya got somethin' in mind?" She drawled, each syllable laced with a bitter spike of anger. "Ahm listenin'."

Outside of the Arena

Ghatz found himself outside of the arena. Apparently, some sort of support staff had dragged him out of there, which was probably a good thing. He had been unconscious of course.

Any wounds he had from Glen's kick had been healed, but he was still quite low on aura. He made a mental note to use Shortcut sparingly, and make sure when he did, it wouldn't be a waste.

Remiss for anything else to do, and mad at himself for his failure, he made his way to Dorm White Rose to grab something to eat and his weapon.

Dorm

He appeared in the doorway, leaning on the frame slightly. Somewhat familiar faces were filling the room, apparently discussing something big. He glanced about and finally chose to lean silently on a wall and listen, not saying anything just yet.

Charisse, not knowing that Glen was attempting an attack from behind, dropped down into a slide to knock Ai's legs out from under her.

If nothing else occurred, the three of them would be knocked to the ground and De La Vega could get on with her life.

"Nya-ha-ha! Successful bait!"

Ai sprung into the air, aiming to land on Charisse like a tiger pouncing on its prey. She was going to crush Charisse under a lot of weight, and that would be the end of it. At least, she didn't realize that Glen was coming towards Charisse, so if Glen happened to crash into Charisse at the same time, a nasty dog pile could happen...

Dorm Rose

Having finished her shower, Imuka begins the process of heading back to the workshop to collect her things.

Yun scowled in both disgust and anger. What bastard sells his own kin to turn her into some FUCKING WEAPON!?

"Well that explains the resentment."

Rufus was reminded uncomfortably, in that regard, of what the Snikersnax, at their worst, might do. They had too much pride to want to transform one of their own in a purely mindless machine, but the ancient and barbaric Snikersnax might find admiration and use of the brainwashing tool and cybernetic enhancements of Luna.

What one of the good doctors did to himself and did to those... what did the reports call them? Beowerewulves. And then there were those berserkers. Rufus's impression was that they were not natural ragers, not like himself. They were the result of some scientific experiment, one stripped of ethic that stripped them of their rationality. Oh ho, how Rasnyy the Bloodletter would have loved to have made his own daughter, Rumyanny, into some half-monster.

Rufus shook himself from his musings on his family's sordid past. This was not about them. This was about Alice, Mia, Olympos, Omega. This was about the victims Mia's father had made, and the ones he will make in the future, if the pattern holds. If all the information held true, then a man who gave his daughter willingly to such madness was one unhinged from several important faculties that made a man a man, and was unfettered from doing more.

"The past holds in it a pattern that predicts the future. To let go is virtuous, but to pursue may be prudent."

"That's not our concern, Ayers." Pius dismissed. "If Mia doesn't want to go back into the world her father threw her into, then that's her decision. But that doesn't mean we're not going to try stopping Alexandros from doing this again."

That's exactly what I said.

Well, he didn't say with so much pomp.

I'm not that pompous, am I?

I kind of am.

Rufus grunted something like agreement with Pius.

Pius hummed -"Hmm"- to show that he acknowledged Rufus' support, even though Rufus had indeed said about the same thing first. Truly the two team leaders were an odd pair to be called friends.

"Arright, I git that." Ayers shrugged. "There's some folks hwut the law can't touch. Y'all heard me talking about lynching folks before. I figger y'all oughta learn how we do things back home." He grinned. "Now, uh, here's another question, do we gotta just be all discreet'n maybe not kill the man? I figger, y'know..." Ayers wiggled his fingers. "I ain't got no fingerprints, fer one thing. F'ranother, we could always just, y'know, give a local gang'nopening'rsumm'n."

"A local gang wouldn't be enough, and an untraceable death would definitely draw attention." Pius replied. "Besides, I'm not comfortable with killing people, Ayers; it's not what I signed up here for."

"I am a killer of monsters," Rufus said, coldness under his voice, "And I see no reason not to use any tool to kill one. But I want to know he is a monster, and not just called one by the remnants of a child who had no mind left at the end."

Kill him. Make him suffer.

Alice clenched her fists. No. She refused to be a monster again. She was more than Alpha-One.

Alice let out a breath. "On the thirteenth, during their grand opening, a team should sneak in the restricted parts of Olympos Tower. I should have a floor plan for you by then. Lexi?"

"I'll do whatever it takes." replied the younger princess resolutely.

"You'll have to sit this one out."

"What?!" Alexia demanded, getting to her feet.

"Mother has arranged for us to meet Alexandros face-to-face on that day. We'll distract him, and maybe he'll let something slip. We'll also have to bring our Knights."

"As for the rest of you...A Weapon Girl should still be able to connect to his networks. Obviously, I cannot join you. Bit, Carol has volunteered her help."

"Alright, how large can this team be?" Pius asked, ignoring the growling of his stomach for breakfast. "This sort of task requires a small team, right? Probably no more than four."

"Send in Team STNG!" Ghatz said, loud enough for him them to hear. "We can totally handle that!" He made a step towards them. "We're perfect for that kind of mission!"

"I can lead, and bring Noa and Noiri if you need Alfred. plus this Carol person, and that makes four." He had a confident expression. "What do you think? Could it work?"

Alice nodded her head. "Five. Six, counting Carol. I trust you to figure it out..."

At that moment, a cold gust of wind washed over the entire room. And everyone heard it.

A ghostly voice. Harsh with anger.

I want to go! I want to see him fall!

Alexia shivered as she felt the pure rage conveyed by Mia's words.

"I...I think that's decided. Sir Ayers needs to be there."

The explanation left Naima speechless. How could a father do that to their own flesh and blood? It was disgustingly awful. She got a pit in her stomach as she thought about all Mia had likely been through. Was her cheeriness just a front for her pain?

"I want to help." She interjected, stepping forward. "In any way I can."

And Mia made her will to see her tormentor fall known, earning a nod in agreement from Naima.
