You know...this show would be considerably better if it was on cable or Netflix. Imagine Lucifer getting a show like Daredevil. That would be pretty awesome.
OK that was a fantastic moment with the wing scars. And Amenadial got a holy boner XD
That moment when Lucifer sees that Chloe is truly terrified of him is really good. Especially the look on his face. This is one of the episodes where the program shows real potential.

"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"I agree, but I'm worried about the cause of Lucifer's mortality. If it's The Power of Love I'm quitting the show, if it's just plain old Humanity Is Infectious I'll roll my eyes but move on. I'm hoping Chloe is the only one who can hurt him, and it's just an outgrowth of whatever it is that makes her immune to his charms. I like the half-angel theory.
Also, this episode made it clear that demons (implicitly including Lucifer) are significantly weaker than full angels. I guess their powers are mostly in their wings. That explains why he's not doing anything more impressive than moderate telekinesis tricks.

I thought the reason she was able to shoot him was because she touched the scar on his back where his wings used to be.
Reason I feel that is because the look Lucifer gave Chloe when she touched the scar. Though I could be reading more into it than is actually there.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI'm thinking it's a case of Humanity Is Infectious because there's so much emphasis on how being on Earth is changing Lucifer's personality and outlook, how's he's gaining a sense of morality. I feel like he's doing this to himself by punishing for justice rather than for vengeance, he's going against his divine purpose, so to speak. And that fucks with his powers.
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"Heh, if only you knew...
But seriously, if you want to see something like that, you should consider checking out the comics. That Lucifer is, basically, omnipoten,t and often operates on a scale beyond anything what the makers of the original myths would have even had the frame of reference to imagine, not to mention beyond almost anyone he interacts with. Somehow, the stories still manage to be interesting, which was what drew me to the comic back in the day.
That said, it's also a very different Lucifer - the TV version's affable, sociable, promiscuous, almost even bumbling charmer isn't really recognizable to me as the same character. For the time being, it's a decent enough show to stick with, but I hope it'll build up to something more.
Mazikeen looked like her comic counterpart when they showed her reflection in a mirror. Half her face was decayed couldn't see her body because the mirror was only small enough for her face.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureOh man, was that an actually good episode? I mean, the actual Case of the Week was boring as heck and I guessed who the bad guy was halfway through, but all of the other bits were just good. Mazikeen and Amenadiel's meeting at the coffee shop, Amenadiel posing as another doctor and meeting with Dr. Linda, Mazikeen being an awesome ninja protector and taking down all the gang members, and finally that ending where Mazikeen shows her real face holy crap yes. That was the best thing ever.
I mean, I understand why they don't have her with that skeletal half-face all the time because it would be a pain to CGI and/or makeup, but that's one of the biggest things I missed about the comic - Mazikeen and her being just a general badass. Looks like the show is actually bringing that back.
Now if only it could stop with the general Case of the Week stuff and get into the meaty mythology of the comic. Looks like next week might be doing that.
I'm exciting that we got a glimpse of Mazikeen's real face. There's definitely a comic fan working keeping this show from being a B-List Castle.
The mythology stuff is definitely more interesting then the case of the week.

"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"I agree that the police procedural part is the less interesting part of this show but...well, if Person Of Interest is to be believed, viewers are dumb and would rather watch 26 seasons of identical NCIS episodes than suffer a show that starts as a procedural but then gains a story arc. No matter how awesome that show is.
I imagine that many people are still watching series on TV, without VOD, and that procedurals allow those people to miss an episode and still watch the next (and the ads that go with it). This forum is obviously filled with series fans who probably have no issue with a 12 or 24 episodes long story, but those fans might not be the target audience even though they are important.
Now I can still hope Lucifer will follow a similar path than POI and expand its mythology. If it's half as good as POI it will still be better than most of the comic-book series anyway.
I noticed that Chloe was the only one who managed to hurt Lucifer in this episode (with the slap). He didn't even seem to have a problem punching that one cop in the face, and punching the face hurts. I'm still of the opinion that Lucifer isn't mortal, Chloe can just hurt immortals.
Very likely. She's immune to his other powers, why not be immune to his immortality.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Turns out she is just God on an epic level troll.
"You can reply to this Message!"The Oedipus levels would be over 9000.
Crow: There's a plot?
Then she should be being played by Alanis Morissette

Trump delenda estToo obvious.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!John Cleese?
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"Yay new episode tonight! Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Lucifer's magic item that gets stolen is the Letter of Passage from the comics.
I've started reading them BTW. They're very good. I just got introduced to Elaine Belloc.
EDIT: Ellis has a good singing voice. If that's him singing

"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back""Hipsters and condescension."
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!"I need you like I need a third boob"
The humour's really on point tonight XD
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"Nice.
Darn. Not the Letter of Passage. Magical Matroshkas apparently?
Damn. Tom Ellis is really good in the quiet moments, when Lucifer shows sadness, regret or fear. I mean his good at the fun arrogance too, but he's REALLY good in those quieter moments

"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"Just camouflage for the real secret, whatever it is.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Yay. So the letter is still on the table. Or the Tarot deck from the first volume.
LOVING the Samael stuff.
HIS WINGS. THEY STOLE HIS WINGS.
OK. This show is actively improving. And we have a bit of an arc going on. That's good
