Is that really implausible? I didn't know my mom's job when I was 10. I knew where she worked, but not what she did.

I knew both my parents jobs than but that is only because I went to work with them and saw what they did.

If I didn't actually see them work I wouldn't have known what their jobs were.

The singularity wasn't cause by Barry traveling back, it was caused by Eddie retgoning Eobard by killing himself.

Barry still willfully risked destroying all of reality just to save one person. I'm honestly shocked the writers managed to make him even more unsympathetic than Oliver in one fell swoop like that.

Also, that still doesn't make sense because it was clearly established that Eobard was from a different timeline. All Eddie killing himself ought to do is stop the Eobard from the current timeline from ever being born.

But I don't need to derail this into a Flash discussion, so I'm gonna try and stick to complaining about Supergirl's nonsensical plot.

Some day, I will understand why you keep watching CB adaptations instead of stopping altogether spash. Really.

Anyway: stupid plot, good actors, pretty much like Flash's pilot. If it is as enjoyable as that one, count me in.

I thought it was as enjoyable as the Flash and I thought their tones were similar.

Saw the trailer. Looks good. Will definitely plan on watching it.

Apparently the pilot was leaked early? Haven't seen it. Don't plan to until it airs officially.

November after CBS stops airing Football on Thursday nights so they can move Big Bang Theory back to Thursday so Supergirl can air on Monday.

Shit, I thought it was only in a couple of months so just waiting would be fine. I'm not waiting if it's two seasons away.

Well, I quit watching Arrow a while ago, and I have no plans to watch Flash season 2, so...

Funny how Supergirl's "big moment" involves a plane.

They actually comment on that in the Pilot.

James Olsen mentions Superman's first rescue was also a plane.

Don''t know if this has been mentioned, but did anyone think the DEO might have faked that fire to lure Kara out?

Seeing as how they would have had to light an actual building on fire it would be a pretty convincing fake.

And I guess they'd have to hire actors to stand in the fire and look convincingly afraid, and no people standing in the corner with a fire extinguisher just in case because Supergirl would see that with her x-ray vision.

...So basically, that'd just be even worse than if they just waited for a natural house-fire to start.

It's a big city, something will happen on a regular basis, and if she is consistently flying out from the same building... No... I can't justify this bullshit. They have her phone number for crying out loud.

Didi she get close enough to the fire to see it? I figured they just faked the call then shot her before she got to anywhere near the 'fire'.

Yes, the fire was plainly visible, and the episode never did anything to imply it was anything but an actual house fire. Any claim that the anti-alien organization thingy faked it is Epileptic Trees.

I don't get why they didn't wait until she came back from a mission.

Some Fridge Brilliance. I thought it was odd that Vartox would work for a woman given how his culture treats females. But then I wondered if maybe the General's gender and identity were kept from him. The way the Commander talks, he avoids mentioning her gender and her name. It makes sense since Vartox would likely avoid working for a woman, let alone the sister of the one who imprisoned him.

Barry didn't turn into a Jerkass Rightly Self-Righteous Second Rate Batman who willingly allied himself with a villain for over half the season and treated everyone on his team like shit, so he's automatically a better person than Oliver. Of course, it helps that Barry actually is a much better person than tv!Oliver will ever be, so.
