There's no "law" being laid down anywhere, just commentary on the current discussion; some people see it as hostile on one side or the other, others don't. But we should indeed move on since the subject doesn't mesh well with what the topic is about at the moment.
I'm hoping for more non-bipedal Pokemon like Suicune to be announced. Hopefully one of the snake-like mons could get in on the fun too.
EDIT: And now I'm wondering how Lati@s would work.

Actually, he said he was laying down the law, literally. But oh well.
I am pretty hyped for this, mostly because i just want more Wii U games in general.
I hope we get a good sized roster that isn't just fan favourites.
Oh, we need definitely more non-humanoid shapes. More quadrupeds would be a good start. Snakes might be a bit to hard, but I'd love to see them try. This is just too much of a good opportunity to play with the usual fighting game conventions to not at least try.
Let's try to e-mail bomb Namco with requests for Weezing.

I kind of want Manectric.
And Salamence.
And why are most of my favs from Gen 3 lol
...But at the same time, I don't expect this game to have a big roster, so maybe we will be stuck with the fan favorites (not that that's inherently bad, in my opinion) in the end.
Well, I already mentioned Heracross.
oh, oh, another idea: we need both Gengar and Nidorino. I really want to see those two duking it out in glorious HD 3D.
Like, I don't think we need to replicate too many of the ones that're in smash bros.
Because well, i want some less well known pokemon to shine.
Swalot for top tier!
Vanilluxe probably wouldn't work, unless it bounced along or something.
Doesn't stop me wanting it though
I want a Dance battling Squirtle like the one Tierno uses in the anime.
Think Buizel could work? Ash's is practically made for a game like this.
I see Hariyama getting in, if only because he's Ganryu in Pokemon form to me.
Ahh geez, I should stop getting involved in discussions while I'm busy. I'm trying to clean up my room here, guys!
I hope my absence excuses bringing that topic back up! I don't mean to drag it on, but there's some responses that have to be made.
and yes, the other one was pretty hostile too, because apparently jokingly saying that they might be looking too deep into something is like saying "fucking SJW's" and i'm apparently an anti intellectual or something
I'm sorry that you took offense to the post (I'm assuming because the last bit refers to you even though I never addressed you specifically). To be clear, I don't think everyone has to engage in that sort of thought exercise, that's just something I like to do. But it's very rude to explicitly dismiss it. I personally don't see the purpose in posting a list of playable hopefuls without adding any commentary and thoughts as to what makes them cool to you, but I'm not going to dismiss people who do that, if that's their way of contributing.
And I do in fact think you are mad.
That said, it was mostly in jest. If I made you upset, I apologize.

No Weezing, though. Weezing would end up just being a floating thing with all its moves being some variation of spitting things from its mouths.
I want to see them do hovering Pokémon, like Beedrill. As for unconventional-body fighters, Sudowoodo, Metagross and Starmie are up there in my wishlist.
Also, is there any squid-like pokémon that trawls through the ground like Shuma-Gorath in Marvel vs. Capcom? Could be fun.
I appreciate the explanations at least, Faw. No harm done.
The closest would be Octillery, who doesn't float above ground like Tentacruel does in the main games, but if they're ignoring that, Tentacruel could work too. Malamar's a squid, but it doesn't have multiple long tentacles like the others (though to be fair, Octillery's are also short).

I think Excadrill with a tunneling gimmick could be pretty cool. Digging around to avoid damage, then popping up for a Metal Claw or Drill Run. Though there would probably have to be a limit to how long you can stay underground to prevent people from stalling out a match.
Dugtrio would work better for that sort of thing.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.Except then you have to solve the problem of Dugtrio jumping. Not seeing what's below it is kind of a core part of its character.

Can Dugtrio do a badass underground-to-midair-claw-Shoryuken? Didn't think so.

Speaking of unusual body shapes, I had an idea regarding Torterra - they could play with it being such a travel-friendly Pokemon and give it synergy with small support Pokemon, giving you easier access to them with the justification that they're riding on its back the whole battle!
I don't wanna sound like a brown-nose of some sort now, but Customer, I always kept meaning to tell you how much I appreciate you. I really like how calm and positive you stay in the middle of an argument. That's a great quality to have and I think the forums are a better place for having you.
... I'm totally sounding like a brown-nose. I just want to make people feel appreciated when they deserve to feel appreciated! Shut up!
Maybe the heads pop up Whack-a-mole style?
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. You know, I know it's based off Tekken, but since they're targeting the Pokemon fanbase....
I hope the inputs are simpler than normal fighting games, or that there's like a Simple/stylish mode or something if they aren't simple.
Because when i play SF or SC or Tekken, i can never do any of the moves.
Well, you're in luck then.
Looks like it'll use something like Smash's method of pulling off attacks, at least that we've seen, but there might a few more complicated inputs. Machamp's grapple might be a little more complex since it's so useful.
I used to play street Fighter IV on the 3DS, and it took hours of practice just to feel like I could control one character on a basic level. And people wonder why fighting games are losing the general audience.
I'd much rather see something along the lines of smash bros.: All characters control the exact same, intuitive way, so all that's left for you to figure are the actual intricacies.
I still think you're looking too deep. I still think getting in the gender politics of fighting monsters is bizarre.
And I do in fact think you are mad.
That said, it was mostly in jest. If I made you upset, I apologize.
