Reverse GIS gave me this◊ and this◊. Though the issues in both are apparent (subtitles and bug, respectively), they are the highest quality source. Plus, I like how she is making eye contact with him. The second one is my source. There's plenty of dead space on the left to crop off, but I left enough to show the light effect. I would have liked to get more of the projector on the right, but I wanted to remove the bug, so I left as much as I could. I also cropped that tiny bit of his leg on the bottom, since it was rather jarring.
I like that version.
Check out my fanfiction! That version in @27 is good.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman27's the best one so far for me.
@poi 99 Not trying to be rude, just pointing out how people seemed to have false assumptions of canon based on lack of firsthand experience.
Bad example? Hardly.
Bad illustration? Even if her emotions are not obvious in the picture, the title combined with her holographic image makes perfect sense. The trope description even says the emotions of the non-virtual individual in question don't matter, only the fact that the virtual individual displays affection. The still-frame of his blank visor being emotionless is irrelevant in the context of the trope.
It would help if she actually displayed affection, then.
Check out my fanfiction!I have nothing against the current, but the Archer one is better. 27.1 might make a good caption.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman27 is definitely the best version.
I like 27 as well.
Caption: "You may attempt to kiss the bride."
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less. That or "She's the light of his life."
Supporting 27 with 37's caption.
Not right away, not right awayfor 27 and 37.
The Archer example is better than current.
Image and caption are up, potholed and tagged, and two other images from this thread are on an Image Links page. Requesting closure.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI removed the quotes from the caption. Usually, quotes are used in forums to separate the caption from other text. Unless someone actually said it in the show, then I'm mistaken.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Nope, that was just me doing my normal thing. Locking up.
It's a good illustration, but... *Shiver*
Still, it does a good job.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."
