Probably Prussia. Everyone knows how much Fast Eddie hates the German states. But come on, Makina said she was Japanese even if she has a weird name.

Episode 9 raws is out.
they removed some scenes which showed Yuuji's badassery though the ending is very satisfying in its own right, plus points if you've played the VN
spoilers: DIE BITCH! DIE! MWAHAHAHAHA!!! So much fulfillment especially since Yuuji got away with it unscratched
Here we have a Bratty Half-Pint and a Boring Invincible Hero. That's about it. Oh, and some villains.
Check out my fanfiction!I got to love how batshit crazy this series can get.
I know it's bad to be vindicative, but holy cow, Yuuji shooting Makina's mother was so satisfying. Payback a bitch as they say.
So now we'll get three episodes of Amane arc, huh? I'm all giddy.
raws of episode 10 are out a lot of things are cut from her route to give way for her backstory
speaking of her backstory, it seems that they will adapt it fully
Episode 10. In which people are put on a bus.
Shouldn't take him long to figure out what that was about. She's a troll when she gets the opportunity.
Her thought process is as usual out of the ordinary.
Yeah, don't even let her finish.
By the way, her belt is bugging me.
If only more girls in anime could be that forward. Then again, most of the time they don't have a dedicated arc, and this is still late in the series.
I find that her nervousness is much better in the anime than in the VN. Which probably nails it for me to watch the anime before the VN. Especially if they're going to be more thorough about this arc.
That sister is... a little like the brother. She does have that know-it-all attitude that's justified by being a main character, and the direct nature little concerned about others. Other than that, it doesn't seem to make much sense.
I could say a lot about how to prioritise, but talking and not doing anything certainly isn't one thing to do. Can't say she's entirely reasonable in how she prioritises either.
Good leader, ordering someone to do something they don't know how to.
The teacher should know how far away they are from civilisation, unless maybe he hit his head harder than it seemed.

But damn those were some nasty scenes and will only get worse. Well, compared to real life, not really but I really prefer the VN's text-only version
At least there's yuri
"If music be the food of love, PLAY ON" - William ShakespeareOh man, I'm bit behind.
Episode 10:
Trying to troll Yuuji like that won't work. He can't be flustered.
I have to say Amane straightforwardness is really refreshing. She just straight up asks him to accept her.
Yuuji os confised about his feelings but he agrees. That's kind of cute.
Flashback time!
Amane was different back then.
Yuuji's sister is... just as logical and composed as him. I can see family resemblance, that's for sure
When you get stuck like that it's important not to move and wait for the rescue.
Playing the club president like a violin.
In next episode of Cage of Eden Grisaia no Kajitsu...
Edit:
Episode 11.
Good episode, I like how they portrayed the slowly encroaching despair as things get bleaker and bleaker. They showed even the very unpleasant bits of the situation. This is a very effective use of Forgone Conclusion - watching them struggle while knowing that all but Amane will end up dead gives it a totally different feel than if we could harbor some hope.
Eating the dog was not as bad as it could be. Yeah, people have aversion to eating pets but they at least didn't kill him, he died of unrelated causes. Not eating him would be stupid.
Oh yeah, I also like the friendship between Amane and Yuuji's sister. It's cute as hell.

Episode 11. In which it drags on.
If there's a cliff next to them like that, it shouldn't be that hard to find your way back. It's not like it's so cloudy you can't see the sun.
That's the Amane we know.
Not sure about a puzzle, but I've seen "optical illusions" like that.
It's kind of mean to just to RPS that decision. Better leave it to someone who actually has the fortitude to do it.

i'm at ep 6 and i can't watch this
I joined the police just to kill people.Episode 12:
Wow, it's like every arc tries to increase the Holy Shit Quotient even further than the previous ones.
This arc was amazing, the best one yet. A chilling study of what hunger and desperation can do to people - they really turned into demons.
Amane story resonated the best with me, perhaps because it's the one that I can easily picture happening for real.
Well, Yuuji reacted about how I expected him to. His sister was right to be proud of her little brother, he's a good guy.
What's interesting is that Kazuki might be alive. Let's see how it goes.
Yep, this arc was good. Always fun to see hunger destroy people.
So started watching Amane's route. As their names and faces go by it occurs to me I don't remember about half their names but I remember all their messy deaths.
Awww they trimmed down a lot of the lesbian undertones and jokes. Now Kazuki just looks shy rather than weirded out by Amane flirting with her for shits and giggles. And they cut out the part about Kazuki molesting Yuuji. Well, at least they had maggot infested wounds.
So Amane ending? Though the terms of their relationship are vague enough that I suppose this could still flow into Rakuen, which doesn't follow any route. I don't really care much about Rakuen, though, so as long as this really is a split cour I can be satisfied with Meikyuu at the very least.

You know, I find it kind of funny that the OP seems to focus so much on Yumiko, while the show spends a single episode focusing on her and Amane is given much more prominence.
"Lesbian undertones", "molesting Yuuji" should have expected that stuff like that happened in the VN.
Hmm I should have enough time to play it now.
Don't get your hopes up, there's nothing explicit.
If we do get to Rakuen then Amane and Yumiko are pretty much the only two girls that seem to matter at all.

I figured that much. I just want to read the novel because I get the feeling they left a lot of details out of the adaptation.
So is Rakuen like a sequel novel?
edited 24th Dec '14 5:45:22 PM by Shlugo_the_great
Meikyuu is a sequel that begins with Yuuji applying for a promotion and submitting documents about his past, which the girls find old shredded versions of and eventually wish they hadn't. He didn't settle down with anyone and the whole thing is about Yuuji's backstory. There are also some route epilogues but those don't matter and I only finished two. Ends in a cliffhanger.
Rakuen starts off there and brings the Mihama girls back into the plot. While Kajitsu was basically just a romance VN Meikyuu and Rakuen are much more dramatic and action based. Not much to say about Rakuen without spoilers. It uh... has an H scene section set aside like Meikyuu did, most of them of incredibly bad taste, but Chizuru's was actually kind of sweet with the buildup and conclusion.
Looks like it'll be Meikyuu and Rakuen. I don't think either one would need a full season to themselves, but this might be a little bit too compressed. Well, if we're lucky maybe they'll cut out that stupid clone of Yuuji from Rakuen or whatever. Rakuen started getting rather silly.
> cut 9/10 of Mitcher's backstory in the adaptation
> "This is just a snippet of the story"
Yeah fuck you
I joined the police just to kill people.I was avoiding Kajitsu because it was way too compressed, of course. The difference between Kajitsu and Meikyuu + Rakuen is that with the former I can tell you immediately that you are goddamn crazy if you think the full visual novel can fit into thirteen episodes while with the latter I simply wish it had about three more episodes to work with.
Episode. They took some content from the bad ending, namely Kazuki's letter. After that it's basically anime original.
And they faked Yumiko's death, huh? Well, I guess adapting her route would have been really boring otherwise since she doesn't do anything but mope around. And Makina is still calling him papa. Creepy.
What's with making Chiaki's dad all rapey? Is having him planning to kill Amane, Yuuji and all of Amane's friends as revenge not enough? Heath Oslo cameo, whee.
Now I'm confused.
