i dont get it
I hope the Game Grumps do something with this on steam train.
Especially from poor Ross.
Watch SymphogearFive (K)nights at Freddy's.
Danny reacts WAY worse to horror games.
My various fanfics.I know, but rosses reaction to the Silent Hills demo is legendary right now...
Watch SymphogearJust wanted to share this since it is absolutely amazing:
Someone's recorded SHODAN-esque lines for Bonnie Bunny.
Warning: Contains a jump scare in the middle.
...Let us in...Like the "IT'S ME" inserted in that.
And then he rushes you if you look at him too much! What do you want!? You're tearing me apart Foxy!
But that's a story for another time.Literally *shudders*
Watched the whole thing now (thanks to Markiplier). That game has caused the same levels of fear and lingering paranoia that I haven't suffered in years (by my first encounters with Redeads, Headcrab Zombies and the Flood approximately 10 years ago)
... I must admit though, seeing a lot of the safer-for-work fanart is worth the trauma (and possible loss of frontal lobe). e.g That:

Avatar by Pastel Mistress: http://pastelmistress.deviantart.com/I had never heard of this game before this afternoon when my brother and his boyfriend told me about it, they had been watching L Ps on it. So I bought it on Steam. OMG. I've played Amnesia...but to me, this is so much more frightening. I got through Day One and then quit. I'll try again later. It makes me scream like a girl. Which I am, but still. Granted it is making my tolerance for horror higher, never a bad thing since I like horror films. But really, this game, is insane. Buy it. It is only $5 on Steam. And make sure your nerves can take it.

Isn't the name "Mike" Schmidt?
I'm still suffering from lingering paranoia from the game, 24 hours after watching Markiplier's LP, so I don't think I'll be buying the game any time soon
Thinking about it, this game seems to tick many of the good horror game boxes which is probably why it is so successful:
- Suitable Atmosphere (Nailed completely)
- Sense of helplesness (Helps that you cannot move from your chair, and when the power runs out, all you can do is watch your horrible death mock you)
- Legitimately scary threat (Malfunctioning/Malevolent Animatronics(?) that are Uncanny Valley incarnate with noises to match). Their warnings that they are right outside your doors are *censored* terrifying imo.
- Triggers fear of the Unknown (in the first few nights, and even in later nights when... other things occur) and Fear of Failure/Anticipation of Failure (once you see your failure punishment. Note how the punishment isn't always immediate)
- A legitimately scary failure condition punishment (SKREEEEEEE!)
- Smartly used jumpscares (SKREEEEEE! and you-know-who)
Don't forget the game messes with it's own rules once Freddy arrives
For a game that is pretty much haunting me at the moment, I really have to give the creator a pat on the back for making such an effective game.

Avatar by Pastel Mistress: http://pastelmistress.deviantart.com/Well, that could always be short for 'Michelle'.
- shrug* Honestly I just saw that on Steam and was just kinda amused by it, my best friend made the wage gap connection. Although I'm pretty sure I've heard of a woman called "mike" or "Michael" before, but Im not that attached to the idea.
Some family friends of mine have a daughter called Micah, though she's never been called "Mike", I think.
I don't have it on me but the best comic I saw is from Mortal Kombat
Human Smoke is on the chair and he sees Cyrex show up and closes the door. Suddenly Sektor comes running Foxy style and next thing we see is Cyborg Smoke with MS Paint eyes on him.
I think the "female protagonist" thing is just the result of trolls adding the game to categories it doesn't belong in. Some people have also spotted it in the "cute" and "anime" sections, which it most certainly is not.
I wonder what's for dinner?Glad to know that the Steam tags system is working exactly as expected then.
But that's a story for another time.
Guess what? 1987 Mode Works now! But it ain't what you're expecting...
