Well, first off, I am dubious of listing whole companies - Dork Age refers to franchises and works. Plus, a lot of the examples read like generic bad aspects rather than "this franchise/work tried out something new and it doesn't work in the audience's eyes".
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSo what examples do you think I should cut out, aside from the ones about companies?
Many of the bad examples might fit better on Fallen Creator. I suspect keeping that page permanently locked has aggravated the problems here.
Yeah, the company ones do not really fit. A lot of these are also talking about franchises loosing fans due to poor gameplay or shoddier quality, but unless I am mistaken Dork Age is more about going in a new direction and having it be unsuccessful. Like having something be cute and then in the 90s making it "XTREEM".
Dragon Age II is listed because people felt it was lower quality than Dragon Age Origins, but it was still the same sort of game so I do not think it counts per my understanding of the trope. The Pokemon example is just saying people do not like those games as much because they were slower and limited access to some of the older pokemon. They were still the same type of games with very few changes from the ones before them. Several other examples are like that.

Can we first get a consensus to cut the company/industry examples? That should be done with a comment telling tropers not to add those.
Well you have my vote for that.
Since nobody spoke up against it, I went and removed the company- and industry-bashing examples. There's only so much time that can be wasted waiting around here.
What's done so far hasn't been undone. If nobody has anything important to add, I'm going to request a lock.
I have several times wanted to remove the Warcraft examples (thankfully they are better now, but still off) but I was afraid that there was some legitimacy to them and it is impossible to get a consensus from either the official forums (which by their nature give dissenters more spotlight) or fansites (which always represent a narrow section of the elite of the playerbase). Any number of players remember some point in the game as a golden age. In fact, gamers seem readier to complain than fans of any other medium (take a look at /v/).
The best would be to explicitly (this is not quite clear in the description) state that the creator acknowledges the era as a mistake and has reversed many of the changes. On that basis, none of the Warcraft entries will count, but the Dawn of War one will.
A blog that gets updated on a geological timescale. So why isn't mobile gaming a dork age? A lot of the mobile gaming announcements on yt are heavily disliked.
Because we don't add general examples. It's on How to Write an Example.

Clock's up; locking for inactivity.
Due to the loose definition of the trope, this section has become a place for people to complain about whatever thing that they don't like in the gaming industry. What should we do?
