Well, I just finished watching this on Netflix. And I agree, this show is a lot deeper than the average adult comedy cartoon. The satirical black comedy blends in well with the tragic drama. I think my main gripe is that the Flash animation looks rather cheap.
That cheap look is a deliberate stylistic decision, like South Park's construction paper aesthetic or how the Simpsons are bright yellow. The animation in the show's actually pretty good. Simple, sure, but creative.
The character models and whatnot look kind of simplistic and cheap (something the show shares with Rick & Morty), but given how much extra animation they use in the background gags where the animal characters display their animal behaviour, I think it's a stylistic choice rather than a budget issue.

I wonder if any of the Full House guys have seen this show. Of the three, Bojack reminds me of John Stamos the most.
That reminds me of how Bojack spoofed that recent Full House spin-off on Netflix.
Finally got a chance to watch this series and I love everything about it.
Yeah around episode 3 or so I realized this was very much a series for me as well.
Now to get off my ass and finish season 2...
What's the release date for Season 4?
No official release date yet, but I've seen August pegged as the most likely month for it to be released.
@Colossus: is the ending theme stuck in your head yet?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. The new season premieres on 8 September.

Just a person. He/him.Oh, so I only have two months left to finish the third season!
Back in the Nineties I was on this famous TV show...
I can't bring myself to finish this season. I hear Bojack doesn't get his Oscar and he causes his daughter figure ex co-star to die of an overdose. That's too much, man.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Yeah, I'm excited to see that!
That sounds so wrong yet so right.

Somehow a show about a talking cartoon horse is one of the realest takes on depression ever put to screen. How 'bout that?
It's because he has such a long face.
It really is weird to find that a talking cartoon horse man who's far more rich and famous than I'll ever be is still miserable enough to relate to.
I can't wait... for the Season 4 trailer. When does that come out?
So, every season, Bojack destroys his relationship with people important to him. However, Season 3 struck closer to home with Todd hating him (at least, growing even more distant and cold) and Sarah Lynn being dead. And even Princess Carolyn, to an extent.
Have to wonder who is next. I think Diane would be reserved for the end game. As Bojack said, he needs her in his life, and she is possibly the only person to understand him and still feel empathy for him. Todd dismissed him as a good person in the first season, with Emily being the last straw, but Diane is still his friend. Sorta.

So I have a theory for Season 4.
The plot will of course revolve around the supposed daughter of Bojack, but it'll come to ahead when he's convicted of stalking and sexual assault by Charlotte after he approached Penny in Season 3, and supported by Bojack's confession to the Manatee Fair editor, and him being an underage predator will become a big media deal. Since this is Bojack Horseman, it'll most likely end with him having to do a huge settlement, maybe even losing his house, and he can't see his daughter again (Possibly by his own choice)
A corpse should be left well enough alone...I didn't watch that part. What did he approach Penny for?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.It was during his bender. He wanted to make sure he didn't traumatize her and his drug addled mind thought going to her college to mildly stalk her was a good idea.
Arguably all the bad was on PC. Bojack didn't really do anything wrong in that plot line.
