@ Achae:
And that is part of the problem facing British Politics, and one of the reasons for UKIP's rise and the fall of the major Parties. The Westminster, and London, bubble. Mind you, you do realise people commute to London from Birmingham?
Keep Rolling OnI still like York >>
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesThe most of the United Kingdom I've seen was the London airport while catching a connecting flight to Greece when I was a kid. :( I would like to see more of it. :)
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. Also yes. It is an ungodly amount of walking. Specially if you dothings like climb ALL of St. Paul's and stuff. Also, London Eye? Not worth it imho.

It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesKind of funny, because I either drive, take the bus or Underground, usually.
And if you know where to go, it's not too far to get to places from most Underground stations, or bus stops.
"Did you expect somebody else?"It is not. Thankfully, my brother had been in London a handful of times before, as he won some scholarship to work there during his medical internship, I forget the name of the hospital though. So he knew the subway pretty well. The London Underground system is not really that complicated, and it is way easier to understand than others', IMO. But not knowing it will earn you like a billion times more the amount of walking.
But no subway will ever save you form that St. Paul's climb. Nothing can.
Edinburgh is lots of walking too. A climb, almost. So many stairs. So much pain.

It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesWhy, how tall is it?
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. No worries, I'm used to walking. Because I'm too poor to afford a cab and my car is entirely too huge and American to drive around downtown.
Oh really when?528 steps to get to the Golden Gallery but the view is glorious and the Whispering Gallery is hilarious.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesOh man the fuck up.
But the walking is so worth it. That view.◊ I like our hills anyway. Copenhagen freaks me out. Not being able to see other bits of the city from street level...Who does that?
Schild und Schwert der Parteiill fite u u haggis munching son of your mother! >:V
It was undoubtedly beautiful. Of all the places I visited the room in scotland had the best view of all. Also, when i was there it was during some event thrugh the Royal Mile so there were dancers, loooooads of people and a half naked man with a union jack thong dancing to the rythm of whatever blared out at that moment.
For some reason.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesAchy is true Scot for telling him to man up for walking about Edinburgh.
In fact, most cities in the UK are hilly. Birmingham is really hilly. You're either going up, or going down. I have never seen a flat street that was more than 500 metres long.
Oh, it's not really fair. I didn't as much as see a Welsh person, let alone speak with one, and the landscape was breathtaking. It just also happened to be one of the most incredibly cold and miserable experiences I've ever had.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Been to Dudley?
Keep Rolling OnDudley. That's hilly. I don't understand why there's a district called Dudley Port, when Dudley is incredibly inland.
I’m so alone without you. To call up on the weekends with my cellular phone.Well...
Ah. So its not a port in the traditional seaside sense, but as part of the urban canal system.
TIL.
U wan sum? U wan sum I'll give it yer!

Can we please rename this thread to "Just British Things"?
Schild und Schwert der ParteiHow would you British classify your relations in a few lines with the following countries - Portugal, France, Spain, Germany, Russia, and Belgium?
- Portugal - Decent place to go on holiday, child abductors, source of good footballers, but a bunch of diving cheats on the pitch like all Latin countries. Mourinho.
- France - See here. An insufferable, cowardly bunch...but we love them anyway. Scotland likes them even more.
- Spain - Holiday or retirement destination. Good football, though still cheating Latins. Decent food.
- Germany - Humorless. Good beer. Two world wars and one world cup. Better food than the French. Efficient. Steal fucking sun-loungers with their towels, the bastards.
- Russia - Rich football club owners, mobsters, vodka, Commies, shit food - which is unfair.
- Belgium - Where we go to settle our differences with Germany.
Come to where I live, and you'll mostly hear people convinced that the McCanns should have far more careful than they were.
"Did you expect somebody else?"To be honest, I'd agree with that, but it's not PC to say it out loud.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiTo be honest, I got sick about hearing of Madeleine a long time ago. It gave us a bad reputation for a while, even though a couple of suspects seem to be British.
But it's got better. Also, Achae, no mention of Port wine or us introducing tea to you guys? I am disappointed.
u didn't even invent golf! u just got bannockBURNED m8!!!1!
I don't understand the cheating latins bit XD
Also I thought another stereotype for them was that they were...err. Dumb. Totes justified, from the few I have met, too >> Because clearly they are all the same. I mean, I am not racist or anything but seriously. To have heard in Trafalgar Square "Hey. Who is that statue of?" "Hell. I don't know. Napoleon, probably." really makes you facepalm.
And if it had only been that one thing I heard...!
...Oh god I am a racist fuck aren't I

All my friends who wanted to live in the UK would like to live in London.
Me, no. I would always prefer Manchester (because music).
