Unprofessional topic change: post 619, last page. I glimpsed that intro for a bit and it reminded me: The entire plot of this series, every conflict, scheme, murder, betrayal, everything up until this point... is all because of Heihachi being the ultimate dick.
Like, Shao Kahn is an evil, alien conqueror.
ARIA wants to "protect" mankind.
Algus and Siegfried and Nightmare were after, or possessed, by ancient, cursed swords.
Heihachi just decided to throw his son into a volcano for laughs.
The only villains at that level of dickishness are M. Bison and Regime Superman.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I'm pretty sure it all started a bit further back than that, which is when he found out his wife had the Devil Gene and killed her in self-defense because she was already attacking him because he's prophecized to be the cause of giant wars in the future.
Doesn't make him less of a dick, but that further explains the volcanic incident.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I've said the same thing (about Heihachi) my self.
I mean, Jin and Kazuya have made their own mistakes, but that was due to the old fart tossing the former off a cliff, and shooting the latter in the head. Neither of them might have gone as far off the deep end as they did if not for him pulling that shit.
One Strip! One Strip!I do appreciate the fact not all of the cast is Japanese even though a majority of the important plot points revolve around such characters.
Mileena MadnessI think it's just Bison, since Regime Supes wouldn't happen if Regime Joker didn't prank him with nukes.
That said, somehow I feel that the one who'll die in this... is Kazuya. I think Harada is kind of pushing Heihachi as the ultimate martial artist character who's garnered more popularity and feels like already pushing Kazuya into irredeemable due to Devil possession. In other words, Heihachi has more publicity opportunities that it feels more shameful to have him offed forever. I dunno, it kind of felt that way so far...
Well Heihachi already suffered one Comic Book Death... so if he dies this time, I doubt anyone is gonna believe that is gonna stick...
Also, Heihachi is being shown in chibi form on the treasure screen in Tekken 7 arcade (along with Lili and Asuka)... so that's something.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! No bears. Fail.
Somebody pre-ordered the game and released a walkthrough. Watch it here before Bandai Namco has it taken down:
i'm screaming
Heihachi was Good All Along to a certain degree. Thanks devil gene.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughThat resolved...what exactly?
Jin wants to kill Kazuya had been the story for like four games.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursYes, I know Harada didn't have the balls to make Heihachi look like the worse party.
Harada: "I've got a rare thing: an OLD MAN as a video game mascot. What other series can achieve this? Oh well, I guess I'll let the OLD MAN go unscathed..."
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!-unsubscribes-
Actually because I need not be spoiled. Eh, bump that. But from the sound of things the resolution is rather disappointing.
So how does Akuma fit into all of this again? Was he cuckolding Heihachi?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Eh, it was pretty obvious that Kazuya was more evil then Heihachi from the start after he got the Devil Gene, anyhow. Heihachi being Good All Along in comparison makes sense, honestly.
Watch SymphogearWell about the tossing of the kid off the cliff though... and also, Kaz having a "good relationship" with Jun...
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Kazuya is evil because of Heihachi. He threw the kid off a damn cliff. And then there's shooting Jin in the head, which left him be possessed by Devi as well.
Heihachi being Good All Along is bullshit. Maybe he's the lesser evil now, but only because the other two are literally demons.

One Strip! One Strip!Double post. Checked out that story mode (well, a different one from the link above cause that was too damned long):
Kaz and the old fart had quite the final fight. I really wasn't sure who was gonna come out on top in that one. Having seen it, I'd say that Heihachi is not really good...anymore. He might have been before his wife went after him (and she only married him to kill him apparently, though something seems off about that story). I'd say there's no one who's really good in the Mishima family accept for probably Lars. Jin...is the least evil. He'd be higher on the list if not for the shit in Tekken 6 (and even that was for a good cause).
One Strip! One Strip!Starting World War III to defeat a nebulously defined and motivated monster is so far from a "good cause" that I'm amazed people still think Jin is heroic. He's arguably the biggest monster out of the 3.
And definitely the scariest, since he thinks he was doing the right thing, unlike the other two, who at least aren't delusional.

...I suppose if they made it more clear what Azazel planned to do, what it could do, and why Jin's actions were literally the only option...
...Right then. I guess Lars is the only non-evil Mishima...by virtue of not being a Mishima.
One Strip! One Strip!Did Heihachi go Super Saiyan at the end there? I wasn't too clear on what happened there.
I'm rather fond of how Jin went from the main protagonist to one of the three main villains. It really emphasizes the "Mishima family curse" especially with Kazuya still alive. Plus, Mêlée à Trois. Well, at least it was.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!For once against my better instincts, yes. The "Mishima Family Saga ends here." If they were lying then I'm never buying another Tekken game again unless there's a beach volleyball spin-off.
Plus they had Kazuya throw him into a cliff and spent most of the game espousing on Heihachi's backstory. The cutscenes I saw showed him in a very expository light, sitting down for an interview when he knew full well that the interviewer hated his guts, almost like he was leaving behind a note. Thematically, on top of Heihachi's original VA being dead, it feels like the right place to finally kill him off so that they can breath some new life into the franchise.
Of course they could not do that at all and bring him back like they did The Joker in Injustice 2, or bring him back as a DLC-only character.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The way he was killed was exactly the same way Kazuya was back in Tekken 2. It might stick for a game or two but they'll just resurrect him after that.
...fair enough.
