Tekken 7

This is just guessing on my part, but there looks to be a main story mode with the Mishimas that follows all throughout their saga (one of the playable bits is the intro to Tekken 5 where Kazuya and Heihachi get ambushed by Jack-4s, which was previously just a cutscene) alongside some side stories involving other characters. Either way, it does look like you'll be jumping through different playable characters, including some unusual ones like Child Kazuya back before the whole cliff tossing incident.

Being upset by the idea of a kangaroo being in a fighting game is ridiculous.

Removing a kangaroo from your video game out of fear that it will offend a small margin of people who likely aren't your target audience is also ridiculous - in this scenario at least. I mean, it's a kangaroo. With boxing gloves.

Harada really likes to stir up the pot with stuff like this, and he's famously a troll, so I'm not sure how much of this is the real reason and how much of it is BS on his part.

Assuming this is wrong (and I wouldn't be surprised to find it is), it would also be the 3rd time a controversial statement he's made about why X isn't going to be in Y turns out to not be the case. He joked that Lucky Chloe would be replaced by some "skin headed tough guy" in the western release and that's not happening, and that some dating sim game he worked on wouldn't get a western release due to, paraphrasing here, "SJ Ws", and than that game had one anyway.

Has he come up with a similarly trolly reason why Mokujin isn't in the game? Or is there still genuinely no news about him? :V

That really killed my excitement, despite all this new footage. Roger/Roger Jr. was one of my favorites and had a fun fighting style. I was hoping we'd get a late reveal one of these days.

Maybe he'll change his mind and we can still get the character post-launch. The PETA excuse is bullshit though. Acting like it's somehow out of his hands.

Something to bring up with regards to the Rogers not being the base game: while there will be several paid DLC packs, Harada's gone on record saying that any classic Tekken characters added post launch would be free, implying that's planned to be a thing down the road. I could see him being added somewhere down the road.

I hope so. In some way, I'm glad Harada did his little troll, as the backlash showed that there's at least some small portion of fans upset at the idea of one of those characters not making it in.

But I'm not gonna get my hopes up too much. Unfortunately, they've done more to drive down my excitement for the game in this final month before release. Saw some customization videos, and it looks like the options are in some ways even more limited than Tekken Tag Tournament 2, where they aren't exactly the same.

That is one of those things that kinda baffles me. 6 had it down perfect and every game since has made customization kind of worse? There's more and more to customize but fewer options per customization, and the quality of the items themselves have dropped I feel.

They've also been bitten by the DLC bug and are restricting some OG costumes to that.

6 is the last and only game with personalized custom outfits, I think. After that they made things pretty generic so as many characters as possible can put them on.

I can't blame them for doing that for Tag 2 since that had quite the huge roster, but they really should've returned to personalized oufits again for Tekken 7.

The Namcops took down the videos, but someone with early access recorded and showcased both Jin and Kazuya's customizations in 7. I did a count and only 8% of Jin's customizations were unique to him. And that count was being generous, including his default costume and recolored items. It's a sad state of affairs.

Hair customization has been pared down too. You can change the character's default hair color now, but the custom hair creation is limited to picking one of 10 presets (built using the same parts you could mix and match with in 6 and Tag 2), and an accessory if the preset has a ponytail.

Another follow up on Roger being in the game. This video explains a lot of what I was saying earlier and is surprisingly professional for something from Censored Gaming.

The "set as weapons" comment seems to be a nod to the fact that the Roger family and Alex are bioengineered animals, so they could just use that justification as to why they're able to be in the game.

But even without the justification there's really nothing to worry about. It's once again Harada just stirring up the pot and being a troll.

yes, actually. Something to the affect of his mother's gardening being involved. This man's word should not be taken seriously in almost any circumstance.

Is he still in a coma?

He is out and about and playable so I will assume he has a part in the plot. I wonder if he hates his grandma too just like he hates his dad for the Devil Gene.

Profiles are up though in Namco's site, so lemme take a look.

Josie encountered Kuma, so i guess she is gonna be another joke character to the plot...

As for Jin he woke up shortly after and wrecked a helicopter transporting him and his first stop seems to be the Middle East to fight Hwoarang.
