I used to think Merlin was cool, but now I'm less interested in her.
....
I won't lie. I expected that sentence to end with ''and then I got an arrow to the knee.
One Strip! One Strip! When I hear Praise the Sun my first thought is to go to Sengoku Basara where the dickish child of the sun uses sunlight to kill his enemies and his own mooks.
Oh glorious sun bless our army.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Merlin would be interesting if she actually did things, but I guess that was a vain hope.
Much like the other sins besides Mel, Esca, and Ban.
Mileena MadnessI'm assuming its not over yet for Esta. I mean killing off the most powerful demon, responsible for murdering the protag or putting him in a coma would make his revival kinda unnecessary & deprive Meliodas of back as the well of the final confrontation they should have as brothers.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The thing with Merlin is he seems so hung up showing her to be mysterious and cool that he actually holds off on her doing anything actually cool for fear of the mystery going away.
And, yeah, even if Estarossa just straight up loses here, he can't die yet. There's more stuff we need to cover with him, and more than that, he and Zeldris' characters are such that it would just seem wrong for anyone but Meliodas to be the one to finally deal with them.
That case could actually be made for some of the others too, depending on certain circumstances, but it's always been the case with them.

A guess I've seen is that the Demon King will possess him and stomp Escanor.
Secret SignatureEscanor losing surely you jest.
Mileena MadnessI'm actually starting to wonder if the Demon King is actually going to succeed in bring Meliodas back to the dark side, if only for a little while.
That entire set up seemed to me like a way to make him even stronger for whatever reason, but I figured he'd get the power without going back to evil. Maybe not though.
That does sort of step on Gowther's plot-line, though.

Thoughts on the TC? They seem kind of underwhelming against the sins.
Mileena MadnessI like them as a group, but I think they've been pretty badly utilized.
And saying they're underwhelming against the Sins is wrong; they're underwhelming against Meliodas and Escanor. The problem is that the situation is such that it's basically a death sentence for anyone besides those two to face them, and yet you can't just not fight them, which leads to situations we're in now.
Edit: Well, to be fair, using several of them as fodder to pimp those two (mostly Escanor, really) was a pretty terrible move.

They're too strong for their own good.
Honestly,if you halved their P Ls,their hype would still be the same, but they'd be more beatable at least.By non Mel-Escanor characters that is.
Secret SignatureIt's really just Escanor that's the problem right now. Mel managed to find a sweet spot where he was stronger than them individually, but not by such a wide margin that it trivialized the conflict.
But anyway pinning the problem on the Commandments is short-sighted. The biggest problem with this series is that the baddies almost always end up looking underwhelming against the Sins.
I really do wonder what he has in store for Escanor's peak. Because, annoying as it maybe, it does seem a bit weird to have a character like him lose before showing off his best. Of course then suddenly he won't be worth a damn but that's an entirely different problem.
Yeah Galan at least did remove Merlin as a threat. Mera gave some closure kinda to Ban's story. Hope he just decides to move on from bringing her back.
Mileena MadnessChapter out.
That's the form that killed Izraf isn't it?Dude managed to fuck around with Escanor for eleven hours? That's a new record for Shounen villains.
Guessing Escanor will turn out to be stricken by Charity/Love next chap.
Secret SignatureOr maybe he will turn out to be immortal or something
Oh, so Estarossa might not be dead after all. Just became Merascylla mk II.
Kinda odd that the black stuff can heal now.Thought it could only reattach stuff.
Secret SignatureHendrickson used it to heal his wounds constantly. Meliodas said they should avoid doing that, though.
Well, obviously this isn't over, but I still don't like it.
Well, most of his wounds were cuts.Could be somewhat closed.Burns and the like seem harder to deal with.Look at Mera.
Secret SignatureWell, he wasn't burned as badly as her (until the end of the chapter) and is a much stronger, so that's probably the explanation if we're going to get one.
Really though, besides her looks being tarnished, she didn't seem that worse for wear after that. She just reattached her upper and lower body and that was it until Gloxinia made her look good on the outside again.

The answer to the second one is Gowther. Whether he actually would do that on his own is a different question but we have no reason to believe he can't just set things back.
I don't think the first and third are really unanswerable questions, but his not seeming to know what to do with Merlin is annoying.
