Kuzunoha

This was bad. That Shadow Deva was almost as fast as her. She'd heard they had inhuman skills, but she assumed they were just exaggerating! If she couldn't shake her, then she might be... be... oh holy shit WHAT THE FUCK?!

Kuzunoha barely jumped out of the way as the Masked Usurper's monstrous ten foot tall axe blades tore through the ground like a thresher, spraying her with hot debris and dust. Something grazed her pretty bad, and she started bleeding heavily out of a wound in her arm. No telling how deep it was until she had a moment to rest.

Getting her bearings just a few feet shy of the massive hole in the ground left by the beast, Kuzunoha finally realized something. Something important.

She hated this fucking country.

She took off down a narrow alleyway. She had to hide. Make it as difficult as possible for the Deva and that hulking rage-beast to follow her. She weaved through a maze of tight back alleys, turning each new corner she found as long as it put distance between her and her pursuers. Through open windows, over roofs , anything that got her as far away as possible.

"Alright, she's not that far away. Seems someone is chasing after her and HOLY SHIT REGULUS CHANGE OF PLANS!" With this sudden change of vocabulary Vogel sprinted towards the giant beast chasing the fox girl. Seems he was wrong in his assumptions for once. That, or nomial's plan didn't go quite as it was meant to go.

Regardless, they had a three-story monster rampaging through the town. Kriegsmann gave a brief glance towards where the soon-to-be-a-subject-of-coronation Queen was located, only to find some sort of magical barrier surrounding the place.

"You're right, this day really got that much better." Regulus snarked, watching Kuzunoha go into an alleyway. "At least we have some back-up." Spirit of Gnome pointed upwards to the balcony where a girl with a fellow Spirit was chanting something, likely a spell to hit Craux with.

"Gonna hope that royal kid and her bodyguards can handle the threat whatever it is." With a long grandiose motion Vogel pulled out his pride and glory: the magitech sawed-off shotgun, the brilliant fusion of arcane and advanced in the same nice, buckshot-firing package. "For now... let's dance!" Kriegsmann smirked as he aimed at the air, above the giant monster.

Now this was way funnier and entertaining than fixing sinks.

"Technology and magic combined for a world of hurt! Stone-Free!" A single magical bullet launched into air and above Craux's head that soon after exploded into shrapnel of charging mini-meteors, coming right to shower Masked Usurper with high-speed not-so-space trash.

Alicia quickly rose up her blade to prepare for battle. However, it was at that time that Shed had summoned a mindless ice golem to help protect Alicia. Except it wasn't protecting Alicia. It was about to attack indiscriminately. The Princess leaped away from the rampaging golem's feet to get out of squishing range. "This is bad." she mumbled while leaping straight up again. "Orbital Blitz!" she thrust herself up into the air with a colorless energy. She barreled up into the air to land on the giant's shoulder for a few seconds of reprieve. "Phew." next she turned her sights toward her would-be assailant, Saya.

Now the fight was going to start.

"No, no, that's not going to work." Yusa said while throwing an explosive shuriken straight at Afar to get him away from the throne. "You're going to face me, sandboy."

Capital City Delphinia — Main Street — Vs. Masked Usurper, Craux

The blades ripped into the monster's masks face and head. Its flesh folded inward as the blades stabbed through it. "!!!!!" it let out another roar as it tried to recover from the pain the swords inflicted.

The next attack would be Stone-Free from Kriegsmann. The monster reeled back from the blast and the shrapnel but it still stood tall. The skin on the head and the black blood that drained from the wounds vanished. That's when its sights on the dwarf and the spell-caster.

The Masked Usurper chanted something unintelligible before throwing both of its arms out.

• NEGATIVE GATE
  • A space of dark opened up in front of the Usurper that reached out to both sides of the street. It was a sphere of otherworldly darkness that lashed out with purple energy, doing its best to smash the dwarf and the Aether Gate Guild member.

Kuzunoha was getting the upperhand in this little chase scene. Wren and Vile ran as fast as they could to avoid the battle of Craux Vs. the two other people that she didn't particularly care about. "You're not—"

In fact, the next thing she was going to say was get away.

But Kuzunoha did just that. Wren, the Deva of Shadow, was incredibly fast on her own two legs. Was she agile? No, no she wasn't. "Vile, go after her." she sent her Union Spirit instead. It phased into the ether to chase on after the target.

Capital City Delphinia, Main Street — Alicia's Throne

"Heh, this only gets better by the minute" says Saya in a low tone as her blade collides with the suddenly appearing golem instead of her target.

However, seeing Alicia move up to the thing's shoulder, Saya grinned as an opportunity presented itself... she jumped back as the golem launched a punch down at her... letting him hit the floor and the ran up the thing's arm, slashing all the way at the limb as she rushed towards her true opponent for a slash.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

Capital City Delphinia — Main Street — Vs. Yusa

Afar dodged the bomb but had to get away from the throne to do so. His body heat rose from anger as he glared at Yusa.

"Trusting you with the Princess's protection was a dumb idea, alas I couldn't disobey her own orders. But since I doubt she can give me orders in this situation I don't need to hold back." He said with a smirk on his face, a long time has passed since he had a fight that looked like it would actually challenge him. "Prepare to die assassin." The Deva proclaimed as he unsheathed his sabre, fairly quickly for its big size, it was nearly as tall as him.

Knowing that here if he didn't give strength for more speed he's not likely to manage and hit her, he decided to do so, dashing right at her and starting with his quicker Artes.

"Snow Tiger Blade" He said as he tried to sweep her with an uppercut and slash her in mid-air, from the left, then the right then left again, and ended it with a strike downwards.

If it would succeed, he would try to chain it to another Arte, "Circling Rain!" He shouted as he tried to step left and hit her, step left again and strike her, left, right, left, left, right, left, he tried to finish it off with a stronger 9th forward strike. "

Capital City Delphinia — Main Street — Some Tavern

Gillean and Hans had been trying to avoid the crowds that the pair knew the Coronation would attract by staying inside a local Tavern and exchanging yarns. Blissfully unaware of what was going on just outside the Tavern's door, Gillean regaled Hans with a tale of glorious battle from years ago. "Now, this one happened back when I was sixteen and new to the whole mercenary business. I was in the wastes to the north of here helping out a small force put down a horde of Barbarians and-"

"You've told me this one before Gillean." Muttered Hans with a remarkable amount of contempt in his voice.

"It's a damn miracle! You've managed to remember something old man!"

"S'not hard considering this may be the thirteenth time I've heard it."

"Well if that's the case, why don't we go get a bit of fresh air?"

"Gillean."

"Right"

Upon stepping out into the main street, Gillean and Hans were greeted by the sight of Afar and Yusa duking it out. Instead of joining the fight, Gillean called out to the fighting pair "I'm not gonna take sides here, but if one of you pays me 5,000 Gald I'll gladly kill your opponent for you."

Morgan left the Cocatrice, bottle in hand and a bit lighter money bag after having bought everyone there three rounds, when he saw the giant monster rampaging through the city. He muttered something unintelligibly (though to those nearby it sounded like a curse) and in a flash his sword was in his hand.

To avoid the crowd he climbed up onto the rooftops and sprinted towards The Masked Usurper, leaping over the gaps between the buildings. He could feel the hunger for battle grow in him and he grinned and once he was close enough he exclaimed "New Moon Cutter!" and he slashed the air in the direction of the beast, a dark bladeerupting from the tip of his sword and flying straight towards his target

Saya approached. Alright, this was good. The heir leaped off the back of the monsters arm while holding up a hand to the sky, "Oh flouxing wind, repell all who stand in my path!"

Black winds started coiling around the head of the golem, sucking in everything nearby — which probably included the running Saya. If the winds were sucking towards it as Saya was running, this would definitely be a hard attack to escape. "WARPED GALE!" The rolling winds imploded at the command. Slicing winds went in every direction. The attack hit the golem but what about Saya?

Capital City Delphinia — Main Street — Vs. Yusa

Yusa smiled as Afar was bashed away from the throne room. "I never intended to protect her to begin with." the red-head pulled out a katana and a kunai from thin air. With her insane speed, she was able to weave away from the uppercut and leap back to avoid the mid-air strike. She followed up with parrying the remaining attacks from the Snow Tiger Blade. "Tch!" Yusa didn't have time to counter the next move despite her superior speed. Instead she chose to block the rest of the attacks as Afar danced a circle around her.

Parry, parry, block, block, parry, parry and the last attack came—

"Kayakujutsu; Bursting Circle!" she put her hands together into a handsign. A blasting inferno welled up from the ground to hopefully blow the attacking Ice Deva away. Then suddenly there was an offer to fight. "Ah, yes, I'll pay you. So get to helping." she smiled as sweetly as she could despite the atmosphere around her.

Capital City Delphinia — Main Street — Vs. Yusa

Afar was blown away although he wasn't really harmed by it besides being blown away, he managed to recover his balance in the air and land on the ground safely, once he landed, a jade circle appeared beneath him swiftly, the Ice Deva made hand gestures and recited an incantation.Hoping he wouldn't be attacked before he finished casting the spell.

"Wind of the north, halt my foes in their path! Cold Turbine!" Should the spell succeed, a massive concentration of wind would materialise around the Deva of Fire and imploded right where she would be, freezing winds travelled all around the battlefield. The spell would cause her body temperature to lower tremendously and if not injure her moderately, at least deal a big blow to her speed for a long time.

Kriegsmann

Seeing the incoming retaliation, both Vogel and Regulus made swift retreat, well, for a given value of "swift". Point is, it was fast and agile enough to avoid Craux's sphere of dark energies and purple tendrils emerging from it.

"Guess you don't play around!" Dwarf shouted at Masked Usurper, pointing the sawn-off right at the creature. "Sandman Bullet!" Out of the barrel flew a large slug imbued with essence of Gnome's stillness, perhaps powerful enough to put the beast into slumber.

"Aw yeah!" Sword Rain had done its job and ripped into the beast. Though it caused it pain unfortunately it didn't kill it. "Look out kid!" Came Jinn's voice as Craux casts its spell.

Taking the hint she jumped from the balcony just as it was smashed barely avoiding taking a hit. She was chanting before she even hit the ground again. This time yellow runes had surrounded her.

"Shine O' Great light! Photon!" She pointed at the beast causing the runes traced in the air to disperse as she landed.

Lines of holy light began to surround Craux weaving themselves into a tight little ball, then exploding with blinding light and intense force.

Definitely, once it took effect the spell would be a hard one to escape... a swirl of cutting wind wreaking havoc in place and drawing in the enemy to be hit.

However... being a spell it had a single weakness. Cast time. Hearing the recitation and with the Queen as her primary target, Saya wouldn't stay still to let it hit her when it was finished. Thus, she also jumped off the golem, moving as quickly as she could to cut the distance between the two.

During the incantation of the spell, Yusa leaped straight up into the air to avoid it. The concentration of air imploded on nothing but open space. "Ah, you are stupid! Kayakujutsu; Raiding Stares!" the Deva of Fire started throwing flaming shurikens straight down at her former teammate. One, two, three, six, twelve, twenty-four! They locked onto their target with great precision. If the starts sliced at him, they would burn. If they missed, the air would be stagnant. If all of them hit, Afar would be in critical condition!

"Ah!" her spell had failed. "Chavra!"

"On it~!" the Union Spirit appeared below Alicia. She used her large hands to throw Alicia up into the air for a jump while in mid-air. This was to close the distance even further. "Haaah!" the blade coated itself in energy then burst forward at insane speed. The princess had utilized Orbital Blitz for an accelerated stab plus another jump at Saya. Since the two were going toward one another, it'd be hard to dodge for either of them.

Craux brought up his hand to smack away the New Moon Cutter launched out by Morgan. Next he threw out his hand to try to impale the newcomer. The interruption of Sandman Bullet kept that from happening. The bullet damaged Craux - however only a little bit. The effects of slumber found no use against a monster of that size. The only thing it did was annoy the beast even further.

That was around the time the runes formed for the spell Photon. Craux heard the chanting and had to act. Sadly, it was too late. The spell had exploded right on his body. "!!!!" it bellowed another roar while braving through the pain. This time the beast had a new target — the spellcaster. With its eyes locked, it started its sprint toward the annoying girl that kept dishing out the magic.

A clash, huh? Just as Saya wanted. The Princess had proved herself to be quite more of a challenge than she expected. However, while the assassin in her dreaded this the warrior part of her relished meeting with an equal in the field of battle. Thus she gave it her all as both of them sailed through the air, blades drawn to clash.

The Deva dodged most of Yusa's ranged though not with ease, a few of them heat but while they obviously injured Afar he didn't flinch from the burned cuts. He was born in the drier parts of harsh Daeva. far from the River of Life as it was called simply because it was the biggest water resource available in Daeva, this heat was minor though the burns did hurt him. He managed to peek a glance at Alicia's battle and his expression turned to a frown of disappointment.

STOP USING THAT USELESS ARTE DAMN IT. I thought I taught you better.

He sighed and turned to the Fire Deva's direction. Though it was short, he was frustrated by this entire situation, not that it can be seen on his currently cold glaring eyes.

"I don't have time to play with your annoying ass assassin." He said bitterly as he spat at the ground.

"You and I have never actually fought each other seriously have we? Allow me to demonstrate to you why I was stationed here."

In a only a second or two, the whole temperature nearly plummeted as Afar seemed to focus, synchronizing with his union spirit.

"We haven't done this in a while Shed, have we?"

"No, too bad we have to use it on a hottie."

Afar stared at him with a risen eyebrow before speaking."Stop complaining and just do it."

"A cold bag of ice punches to treat the searing lava lady comin' right up!"

The ice djinn suddenly enlarged until he was a 2 meters tall and his figure has become weirdly muscly-looking for an ice construct, he swiftly charged at his opponent mid-air with a slew of lightning speed fist jabs as he yelled in his ethereal voice.

"YATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATA" As he punched hair the Deva might feel her bodyparts freezing with every launched attack that managed to connect.

If she froze over, Afar would run at her and slash the large glacier encasing her, sending a million ice pieces all around the battlefield.

"That's right, we haven't!" Yusa smiled as the two of them initiated their unison attack. "Let me SHOW YOU MINE!" a large manifestation of flames burst from Yusa's back. "VULPES!" a large demonic fox with chains all over its body manifested behind her, heating up the air that Shed intended to freeze. "GO GO GO GO GO!"

"ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!" Vulpes screamed as Shed did. Their fists match blow for blow. The chains whirled up and danced with the erratic movements of both Union Spirits.

"It's been fun... but~"

A blasting aura left Yusa's body.

Overlimit!

"But I'll end this here!"

Vulpes' chains ripped straight into the ground. It looked as though the ground had become a liquid. The chains pulled and pulled until something else emerged. A well of serpents with their fangs barred. "The serpents hunger for the damned! Let their fangs tear away the flesh! Become their morsel, HELLFIRE SWARM!" The serpents blasted straight up into the air and attempt to devour all of Afar where he stood.

Their blades had indeed crossed as Saya had intended.

The Union Spirit Chavra appeared right below Saya. With its fist curled up, she threw her hand up in an attempt to smash the ninja straight in the face with the surprise attack. "Hello, me again~!"

Capital City Delphinia — Main Street — Vs. Yusa

"I'm not going down as easily as you think Yusa. Prepare yourself!" A blasting aura left Afar's body, and one of blue-white color afterwards surrounded him.

Overlimit!

"O noble power of Celsius,- With a leap the Deva of Ice struck upwards wreathed in magical ice energy, Afar tried to destroy the serpents surrounding him, he launched a diving attack straight towards the assassin, and as he hit the ground a magic circle appeared beneath him before he went for a final, sweeping soaring strike, -freeze all with your Absolute Zero. Hiemal Phoenix!" and a snow-white phoenix wrapped Afar, helping him strike the Deva of Fire.

As Gillean began donning his armour, he took notice of how his latest employer's fight was going and was fairly impressed. Once he'd gotten ready to join the fray, Gillean turned to Hans and said "Alright old man, let's go earn a nice meal and a warm bed for tonight." Before stopping to mutter the incantation to Storm Fist "My fist is steel and my rage thunders. Storm Fist!" and marching into the fray.

Kuzunoha

Kuzunoha looked behind her. She'd lost the Deva and the roid-raging party- crasher, but the damn girl's Union Spirit was still following her, and she was slowly losing speed as she succumbed to the blood loss. It would benefit her more to hide than to run.

Kuzunoha had an idea, and made a u-turn to go back in the direction she'd come from. Vile would never expect her to be insane enough to head back towards that thing, and she could find the one person who she knew was aware of her existence and not actively trying to kill her. That techie-looking dwarf with the shotgun who'd been checking her out earlier. She could get him on her side and disguise herself with his clothes and armor, then run off. Or, worst come to worst, use him as a hostage to secure her escape.

She hoped it wouldn't come to that, though. He was cute, in a dorky kinda way.

"Remember when I said we could run like hell, kid?" Jinn yelled out to his partner as Craux drew near.

"Yep!" Taking the cue Adrianna started to sprint in the opposite direction, there was no way she was winning a close up encounter with this thing, she had find a place to hide so she could cast again.

The rupturing snakes froze in plaze before shattering like glass. Yusa's ultimate attack had been burst out of and countered with Afar's own Mystic Arte. The ice shards drove themselves in to Yusa. She screamed in pain as she flew straight back into the throne's barrier. "A-ahhh." blood blasted from her mouth as the barrier surrounding the throne had cracked.

Vile continued on the chase to the Nomial girl that Wren had ordered him to. "..." he said nothing, thought nothing. He simply continued on the whim of his Master. As Kuzunoha sprinted back toward him — he stopped for a moment... then immediately gave chase again.

Craux sprinted as quickly as it could. The speed of the darkened monster was more than enough to close the distance between the mage and the Usurper. It raised one of its arms up into the air. The blades on its wrists started to whir like a chainsaw then it came straight down onto Adrianna.

Afar made a dash towards the injured Deva of Fire, striking her with ice projectiles along the way, should he succeed getting in melee range of her without interference, he would make a final strike with his sword at the ground beneath her, and icicles would rise from the ground below her piercing through flesh and bone.

"You're done with Yusa. I'm going to punish you for your crimes against the princess." He proclaimed as he rose his sword for a final strike to kill her.

Capital City Delphinia — Main Street — Vs. Yusa

Gillean watched as the battle between Afar and Yusa played out, waiting for the oppurtune moment to strike. Once his employer started coughing up blood, Gillean knew that he'd need to step in and prove his worth as a mercenary. As Afar's blade swung towards Yusa, it was met by Gillean's falchion. "Sounds like my employer here's going after the royalty eh?" Said Gillean with a look of indifference on his face "I'll see what I can do to keep the princess alive once this transaction's complete, assuming she's willing to pay for my services of course." With that, Gillean jabbed at Afar's ribs with his electrified gauntlet.

Saya was indeed hit by the spirit, caught by surprise by the intervention of the small being... thought the shock forced her to take a step back. The hit had been on her cheek, breaking the skin outside and inside due to biting on it. Bleeding a little, the assassin lets out a little laugh and then spits some blood "Sucker Punch, huh? Then don't mind if I get help as well... Kujo!"

Thus, her spirit manifested by her side, the miniature swordsman rapidly picking from his three blades before dashing off towards the enemy with Saya. Saya for her part, reached inside her sleeve and threw a barrage of kunai with one hand as she approached to reengage.

Kriegsmann

"Oh no, you're not getting away!" Vogel sprinted right after Craux, intent on distracting him somehow. The spellcasting girl was capable of doing more damage to Masked Usurper, but she didn't look particularly resilient. It could simply bop her on the head and probably kill her.

"How about this?" The blond pulled out a grenade out of his backpack. He's always been pulling them out blindly. It spiced things up, he said, but he was simply panicking more than anything else and was looking for just the right thing to lob at the opponent. As he ran after Craux he threw a spherical bomb right at the monster chasing Adrianna.

At the same time Regulus kept vigilant of surroundings in case a third party decided to intervene... and so it happened that Kuzunoha was making a beeline towards them, likely to lose whatever was chasing her. "Hot nomial by our six!"

"Copy that!" Turning to face her Vogel gave her a small nod as he ran after Craux. "Could use a hand with this fellow here!" He shouted as he passed right by her, trying to keep track of the monster.
